Stay in your bed too long and you risk a blood clot. We’ll never be safe again I tell you.
That bed of mine is going in the bin. Nothing but danger.

28,612 cases and 103 deaths registered in the UK today.
Case numbers fell to 1000 last week only to bounce back up again to an 1200-1400 over the last few days. Similarly positivity of tests fell below 5% and has now moved up to 6%.
The effect of schools going back and things opening up from Monday will be an interesting watch.
However, this wave appears to be reaching it's end with hospital numbers and now intensive care numbers finally dropping significantly. Just the daily deaths to drop to bookend the wave.
Vaccination numbers appear to be rising again after being below 20,000 for a long time.
Hopefully that continues and the inevitable next wave will cause far less hospital cases than this wave which has been far less destructive than the previous one.
All very positive at the moment despite the naivety and selfishness of many folk.

Physical distancing will remain in healthcare settings, despite Scotland's move beyond level zero on Monday.
Scotland's health secretary has confirmed that hospitals, doctors' surgeries and dentists will keep the 2m rule after the majority of coronavirus restrictions are eased.
Humza Yousaf said the situation would be reviewed at an unspecified time in the future.

I am immunocompromised and i have to go to hospital for a check up next week, now i am not so sure after reading some comments.
I understand your anxiety as I would have the same concerns. Jason Leitch said a wee while back patients who pick up a hospital acquired infection are predominantly in-patients on wards. I have family who have attended clinic appointments and they all say the clinics were operating with good safety measures. I hope that reassures you.
Just to add A&E Depts are not the same as out patient departments, they can't control the flow of patients in the same way as they do in clinics with spaced out scheduled appointments and socially distanced waiting areas.
Anybody know which drop-in centres are doing vaccinations for 16/17 year olds today? I'm aware the Pyramids at Bathgate is but was looking for one in Edinburgh.
https://www.gov.scot/news/vaccines-for-16-17-year-olds/
While we will have to be vaccinated to watch football concerts and other big sporting events the people you will go to see won’t be vaccinated but will be relying on negative tests, a f***ing joke that fans will be paying the wages to watch unvaccinated elite people.
I got taken in to A&E last Friday night by ambulance, the place was heaving and there was a queue for the ambulances, mine was 10th, was taken straight through to one of pods and was just left on a trolley for a few hours, mask wearing by patients was non existent, I had a lady sit in a chair opposite me who looked worse for wear, pissed, she was not being very nice with staff, a teacher at a university, who tells the doctor that her and partner decided to go a cycle and she fell while obviously drunk, she had fractured her shoulder and wasn’t happy to hear that news, the doctor was just repeating the same thing over and over and she just slavered nonsense about who would pay for a hotel, wtf, no mask on and letting her stupid concerns be known, if covid was lurking it would have had plenty opportunities to spread about, was glad to get out on Monday as the Royal doesn’t look the safest place to be, in fact the doctor said that to me, your better at home than being in here.
I was in the Royal over the weekend make sure you have a mask on at all times and wash hands, not everyone is complying, and yet was at St. John’s last week and as soon as you walk in you are asked to sanatize and wear a mask and was all good up at ward I went to.

Someone can test negative when just had the virus but it's not built up enough they then go to the event able to spread
People who have the vaccine are much less likely to spread the virus than unvaccinated.
Muge Cevik
@mugecevik
Even if viral load may be the same, vaccinated people who become infected are less likely to be infectious than unvaccinated bc vaccines reduce virus shedding time, symptomatic infection, and the presence of immune response will suppress the viable virus.
RNA detection in a vaccinated person may not be viable virus. For instance, these breakthrough infections despite having low ct did not transmit to others.
27,429 cases and 39 deaths registered in the UK today.
Here is a question. Shops from tomorrow no social distancing but masks required. See these plastic screens at counters, are they still a thing or are they done away with?
Scotland's health secretary has warned that coronavirus cases will rise as a result of Monday's easing of restrictions.
Humza Yousaf said people should remember the pandemic "is not over".

Nothing at all at mine - I've never missed a 6 monthly check up/hygienist polish for years and my last one was in February 2020.
Only recently the dentist himself could not offer a timescale on when the surgery was likely to be able to offer routine appointments again.
My dentists practice can only see 10 patients a day between them and the hygienist still cant work so they are doing emergencies only. I'm desperate for a scale and polish! We havent been since end of 2019 other than I had an emergency tooth extraction last summer which was a bit stressful.
They update us regularly. Last piece of information was that they were looking at extra ventilation to see if they would be allowed to open up more
On 27th of May 45% 15-24yo's of had caught covid and recovered
Now mcr estimate last week 71% and 3.5 in one week
It's ripping through them at some pace unfortunately
Did the hospitality guidance ever get published/clarified?
It looks like masks still have to be worn anywhere with general public access - including pubs, nightclubs, etc.
Are you allowed to walk in and stand in a pub again, or is that still off limits?
This should hopefully give some help.
https://www.gov.scot/publications/co...uestions-faqs/
Yes you can stand in a pub and drink is the straightforward answer. The SG have some ridiculous guidance along the lines of you can stand and drink but are supposed to put your mask back on and then off every single time in-between drinks which in reality will never happen.
I thought it was ambitious enough to expect someone to pop it on when they turn around to get served after standing in their group without one, or presumably if you're the first in the group to finish their drink...
I'm not sure if what you've written is technically true or not - but agreed it isn't going to happen!
I read today an article in Spanish which says that a drug has passed through phase 2 of clinical trials and has achieved a 93% cure rate for severe Covid with patients being discharged in 5 days. The Sourasky Centre in Tel Aviv has developed this drug called EXO-CD24 that is based on a naturally occurring cell membrane protein CD24. Crucially it regulates the mechanism that produces the cytokine storm that causes so much damage to the body. Just over 90 patients were in the study, so a small number. The study was initially started in Israel but finished in Greece because of the success of the vaccine programme in Israel. No patient had significant side effects. Patients are being recruited for the final phase 3 study.
Obviously it is early days but a very promising treatment. Studies due to be finished by the end of the year.

It seems this was just a phase 1 safety trial, they are moving ahead with phase 2 though. Fingers crossed.
It's in the link I provided earlier for the FAQs, under the question of "Does a customer have to wear a face covering in a nightclub?"
"The regulations also provide an exemption for exercise which would include dancing."
https://www.gov.scot/publications/co...uestions-faqs/
Covid restrictions in Scotland have been lifted at the "right moment", according to the first minister.
Nicola Sturgeon admitted to feeling "nervousness" at the move, but said the vaccine was now giving "significant protection".
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-58136277
Q: Does a face covering need to be worn when singing at a karaoke?
A: No. There is an exemption for performers. Performers must however maintain distance of at least 1 metre from others or a partition between performers and the audience should be installed.
I thought physical distancing requirements had now been removed, with the exception of some health settings?
On another note it's good to see dominoes are allowed to be played again!

Just heard from a mate, they've just been tested positive and had to cancel their trip to Spain to finally meet up with family.
Apparently while working last week the guy he was working with started to sniff, sniff, then later had the odd cough. Craig asked him if he was alright, guy responded "aye, I'll just work through it "
Later on he realised the guy had been in ibiza recently, when he asked... got home on Sunday/Monday and straight to work on Tuesday... no self isolation, and not even vaccinated at all yet.
What chance have we got, Craig's raging, self employed so loosing a wee bit cash but totally livid about his family... he's pretty rough just now, saying its like the worst cold/man flu he's had in years, luckily he's double jagged.
Can't believe folks can be so selfish and totally ignoring how their actions impact on others.
Just got pulled up in my local for not doing test and protect. Not got a problem with it but is this still a rule? They’re still taking orders at the table instead of going to the bar, although I think that it’s the chain that’s decided that.
Sturgeon on STV news saying children have to wear masks because they are no vaccinated and can't rule out any future restrictions.
I don't have any issue with Sturgeon etc saying they can't rule out future restrictions. It's preferable to categorically ruling them out and then having to backtrack.
No one can predict the future and it would be foolish in the extreme to declare that there will never be a reintroduction of more impactful restrictions.

Was watching CNN and some of the American States have more cases per 100000 than Mexico. Mexico on red list so why is US not on red list. Also there are anti vaxers in the US with some states at less than 50 uptake of vaccinations.
Florida is a state with a major problem and I am sure there are many Brits on holiday there. They will not have to isolate in a hotel when they come home you do if you Come back from Mexico. 🤔
Red list is more about variants, the US is pretty much all delta, hence India coming of red as its all delta. US has good genomic sequencing where as Mexico has none.
2nd dose yesterday. Felt fine bar the usual heavy arm when I hit the hay last night. Woke up maybe less than an hour later feeling dodgy, then again a few hours later feeling like I had the flu.
Already a fair bit better now so hopefully that’s the end of it. And the short burst of feeling a bit minging is definitely outweighed and then some by the satisfaction of now being double vaxed.
