From what I can gather from comments on KB, this game, by far, is the biggest of the season for them and it has nothing to do with relegation, which most of them are resigned to. In my opinion, the penny has dropped that they can not buy themselves from the foot of the league. They might have the desperation to beat us on Boxing Day but they don’t have the balls or character to climb the league.
There was a nice stat I saw on Twitter - since the move to a smaller top league in 1975, the team that was bottom of league at Christmas has finished season bottom of the table 73% of the time (32 out of 44)

Agree however you just don't know what if any impact it will have as the game will take care of itself especially given the expererienced players they have (Berra Whelan et). In some ways it may be better they don't train xmas day and relax with families. It is very unusual though especially given we have a break coming up after the 29th though probably shows how desperate Budge was to get Daniel in. Assume today's session would be short and sharp anyway and as much to get mind on the game plus work on some set plays. The coach not being part of the sessions this week is the most unusual thing in he went home on Saturday and only returns today.Quote:
