We're going to extend from 2 games to 3 games a year at Wembley!
Incidentally, Ohio State's president has been retired by the University after remarking that "You just can't trust those damned Catholics" in reference to Notre Dame...
Sectarianism alive and well in Columbus :agree:
At this rate it won't be long until they get a team. Their going to have to make sure that from now on they have at least one decent team each game as if they start bringing just anyone over it'll start to lose it's appeal.
:coffee::coffee::coffee:
Move along now. Nothing to see hear .
Agreed - part of the reason it does so well and continually sells out is the degree of novelty factor - you start to bring over mediocre teams and people won't be able to regularly justify the cost of the ticket and getting to London. I genuinely feel that if they were to set up a franchise in London, they wouldn't get anywhere near the attendances they get with these one off games.
With spelling like that, are you sure you're not an OSU graduate? :na na:
It's not exactly a nothing story either - had Walter Smith come out with something like that, he'd be dragged down into the Barras and hung at noon!
A london team would struggle to hit the 30k mark regularly when they arent playing a big name.
I'd give it a go if I return to/stay in London but at the end of the day I will still be a Patriots fan...
Im sure everyone can guess my reaction to todays transfer news.
It's Tebow Time - the Messiah has arrived, yadda yadda yadda :greengrin
Said near the beginning of this saga that I wouldn't be surprised to be in New England - he was never likely to learn much or improve under Sanchez - he's arguably going to have one of the best apprenticeships in football and hopefully will give us some new option plays.
I'm not exactly jumping up and down at this but I see potential for it to have a mutually beneficial outcome :agree:
All the crap has started already! "He'll have Bradys job by the 3rd game" my balls!
[QUOTE=NOLA;3581990]Tebow signs for the Patriots!!
Was only a matter of time ;)
84 days left till FOOTBALL!

Taken from the Hearts Finance thread on the main board - Dolphins, Bills AND Jessies all have a higher annual salary expenditure than us.
Just goes to show that spending wisely is better than spending blindly :agree:
I wouldn't read too much into that to be honest. That's average salary of each player and is really dependant on the amount of players in each team's roster.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...-each-nfl-team
This is a truer reflection of where each team is at in terms of annual expenditure and salary cap. Bills and Patsies over $116m a year. Jets and Dolphins $113m a year - a pretty meagre difference considering the money involved but it'd be wrong to say the Brady Bunch spend less than the rest of the division. In terms of actual cap room, the Jets and Patriots were only a few thousand dollars apart when this was published.
Saw this in the comments - thought it was pretty funny:
"The worse teams in the leauge are the teams with the most cap. They never want to spend money but expect to be contenders , that makes no sense at all. You have to spend to win, unless you're the Patriots then you spend less on players and more on practice tapes from your opponent's team."
If I subscribe to gamepass through NFL.com will I be able to watch MNF or SNF games the next day whenever I want?
NO, that's the thing/problem with it. I think you could watch the channel 4/5 games on catch up but the sky ones were totally blocked out which ment NO playoffs or even the SB.
To be honest I've no idea what the TV line up for this season is and who's showing what so could be totally different now. Haven't looked at gamepass either so it could be totally different this time round.
You can catch up and watch all the games not on tv, so in effect you could watch every Packers game either live or the next day so long as it wasn't on TV over here. You could in effect watch a different game every night of the week if you wanted.
It's well worth it if you follow one of the smaller/less followed teams as you can watch all their games live. Even if it's only one or two games it's good if you like to watch other games but the Jets were on the TV 7 times a couple of years ago so it became worthless. Course it would still depend on if and who is showing MNF and SNF over here. Catch up is good too as you could watch the Packers game live on the Sunday then watch the Jets game on the Monday, Saints games on the Tuesday, Seahawks on the Wednesday, Eagles on the Thursday and the Dolphins on the Friday :aok:.
Still leaves you needing SKY for the playoffs though. I think as I'm sure their deal ran out end of last season .
Another thing to keep in mind with game pass is that you get NFL Game Day and Red Zone on a Sunday (I love it) and the NFL Network 24/7 which has some decent programming! I subscribe to Game Pass and NBA League Pass and have to say the NFL are miles ahead with their provision!!
Christ on a bike you read some garbage on nfl.com. Described Tom Brady as 'arguably the greatest qb of all time'. Of all time????
Surely Joe Montana has this sown up :dunno:
If not id say, Unitas, Namath, Troy Aikman, Steve Young or Rodgers/Favre join Brady among the next best list.
What about the one with David Beckham being an NFL kicker.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100..._atl_wesseling
He's one of the best, sure, but it's very difficult to pinpoint any given player as the single best of all time.
Stats aren't comparable due to how the game has evolved, there are too many variables (including receiver turnover/quality) to take into account and simple wins don't tell the full story.
I don't care if he's the best of all time or not - much like Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees from this era, it's just a joy to watch these guys plying their trade in the league just now.
No Tim Tebow on that list bollah?!
I'm far from being a Brady hater, he's like Marino or Aikman or Unitas, the best QB of his generation. (Probably shares it with Rodgers IMO). But if you consider the advantages hes got playing in the Patriots organisation with the passer friendly rules these days and the quality of his teammates, I dont think you can say hes seriously better than Montana or some of the older guys. I totally take on board TSSFs point about historical comparisons being tough to do, however.

Big story going on at the moment involving Patriot's tight end Aaron Hernandez.
Doesn't make for good reading at all, particularly given reference to another incident involving a handgun in February.
Though tell me, ESPN - how exactly can a bullet 'travel' from an arm to a person's head?
One thing's for sure, the Patriots won't be liking the exposure of associated circus - if he's found guilty, then good riddance.
Arrest warrant for Hernandez on 'Obstruction of Justice'.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/aaron-herna...8#.UcRa5TvVCuI
Investigators want to know why Hernandez hired a large team of housekeepers to clean his house on Monday, the same day Lloyd was shot execution style. ooooffffttt!
I guess someone had to fill the shoes of Ray Lewis
Hernandez finally arrested, no charge declared yet.
Been released by The Patriots.
Good riddance. Undoubted ability but not the type of player I want to see representing us.
Even if he's innocent, we don't need the soap opera dominating our pre-season.
He'll get a few downs at TE, maybe a trick play or two when youre 20 points up against the Jags et al, and some special teams action.
With no Hernandez and Gronk still injured whos going to be your TE? And dont you often play a double set as well?
Hernandez Looks like a player you couldnt afford to lose.
Not sure Bollah. Bill is known to work magic to find hidden gems though.
FWIIW, I have never been a fan Tebow as a QB but he has, on paper at least, the skill set to be a great TE. He's agile, tall, strong and can run the ball. I have no faith in his ability to be a signal caller or his decision making skills. IF he makes the change then great but he has resisted it thus far.
Going to be interesting now to say the least.
bit surprised the patriots have cut him, he wont be short of takers thats for sure
According to NESN, the Patriots made the decision to cut him last week if he was arrested.
I dare say they know that he's probably looking at time whether it's lengthy for murder (which looks possible) or simply obstruction, which still carries a term depending on the perceived severity.
Apparently we also have a plan to replace him but it's not being discussed right now (understandably).
It's official Aaron Hernandez charged with Murder.
Looks like prosecutors have some pretty hard up evidence implicating Hernandez. I was hoping that he had a great year this year for the Pats. He had appeared to have turned over a new leaf and got rid of his off-the-field issues, but I guess once a thug, always a thug.

He failed drug tests at UF but the gang thing has been hearsay. Bristol/New Britain area always seems nice enough when I have been through/played there but gangs get everywhere I guess.
Being investigated over a double murder in Boston in 2012.
Tim Tebow singing his heart out on bbc 2 the now! Haha Attachment 10440
bought the Season package for £99 from NFL.com, looking forward to the season already . Will be getting ESPN College pass when i get paid :aok:.
Aaron Hernandez is now being investigated about the disappearance of Manti Teos girlfriend.
Sorry.
Can someone explain why the NFL season is so short? Seems bizarre that they play so few games over only 4 months or so.
The sport is physically one of the hardest to play, the players union have blocked expanding the league as they feel more games would be impossible.
In my opinion the lack of it makes it more exciting, you cannot afford to lose as there isnt many games to catch up on.
I'd like to see them play 20 games, not that unreasonable for the money they make, an extra month of football would be fine with me.
University of Michigan. Where the lesbians are big enough to play linebacker :aok:.
Eagles are retiring #5 now McNabb is leaving the game.
I have been reading a bit about the BT/ESPN coverage of NCAA on the NFL forum and Digital spy (who have an 80 pager). Neither of them seem convinced that the new coverage of CFB will be as good as what ESPN America provided. BT haven't yet released their schedule which includes the start of the CFB season so I am pondering whether to go and get ESPN College pass or wait and see what BT/ESPN will cover. As someone who doesn't really follow a team but has preferred teams to watch ESPN college pass looks ideal but it misses out the CBS games such as Texas A&M v Alabama which will be a cracking game IMO. So I'm still in limbo a bit.
Do Eurosport still cover the Notre Dame games?
You can also get the likes SEC TV on the PS3 which covers the whole conference and all the sports the schools play, not just football. You get all sorts on it as well as the live games. Download the free app and see what you think as there's plenty on it (old games/highlights/documentaries/interviews...etc) I watched a thing about Tebow's days as a Gator the other night which was quite good.
On A Mission? Watched it on Netflix a wee while back and I thought it was quite good - he was such a good College QB and it's a shame he hasn't transitioned better to the NFL really.
I'll be honest, I dropped my Sky/ESPN package last year as I was getting married and finishing my PhD so money was a bit tight. I opted to just watching the games through the usual "online" sources and for the most part, there were good feeds for every game I wanted to see.
Granted, it doesn't compare to being able to sit back with a few beers and watch the game on the TV but it's a good way to see as many games as you like without paying the ridiculous subscription charges.
I know if you signed up to MLB TV you could connect it to two PS3 accounts so in effect two people could use it. Maybe something to look into and see if some of the other stations do something similar and if they do, find someone to split the costs with.
Why haven't you mentioned this before? :rules:
Does the NFL allow you to connect your laptop to your TV for streaming? I didn't look into that. Not really an issue either way. Mines is auto renewal for August 2014 (hope I remember).
Again, I'm pretty sure you can connect your account to your PS3. Just download the app. It's called Sunday ticket or something along those lines. Will check it out later on mine to get what it's actual name is.
As for the SEC TV thing, my bad, thought it was common knowledge. If you've still got your American account checkout the apps section as there's loads off stuff that isn't on the UK version. You can't get it all as your in the UK but can get most of it :aok:.
4 weeks til College Football returns
As an aside, any of you coming down to Wembley who might happen to have a spare ticket? Looking to go but had to leave it late as I wasn't sure where I was going to be in September/October.
