Patriots open @ Bills before Thursday night football against the Jessies!
Oh and DH I am back for a bit.
our schedule looks difficult but will be good to watch
http://prod.static.packers.clubs.nfl...3-schedule.pdf
6-10 at the very best for us next year looking at the schedule. Can't wait!
I'm quite chuffed with our schedule on the whole. We have a very tough stretch before our bye-week (@Atlanta, @Cincinnati, vs New Orleans, @NY Jets, [vs Miami - not too worried], vs Pittsburgh) and some hard games post-Bye (@Carolina, vs Denver and @Houston) but all of our games are winnable...that's not to say I think we'll win all of our games (far too many questions surrounding us just now) but we'll have a chance in each of them for sure.
Seattles schedule looks relatively straightforward. Toughest non division games are Houston Texans and the Atlanta rematch. We also have a Monday night game at home against the Saints.
Yeah, my 6 wins was best case scenario e.g sneaking a win against a good Bucs team at home, decent shots at home against Bills, Dolphins, Raiders and Browns plus a road win or two (Possibly the Bills again, maybe the Titans) Rex is bullish about it but I see it as being extremely tough.
Notice the B1G is realigning - no more legends and leaders and no more Ohio-Michigan championship games.
I enjoy watching NFL and follows the Dolphins for my sin's, but what I don't get is the playing schedule how is it decided? I noticed that we play the Bill's and Jet's home and away and selected other franchises just once and others not at all, so who decides the playing schedule ? Over to you Scott
Maybe this will help R - http://nfllabor.files.wordpress.com/...determined.pdf
It explains it much better than I could! :aok:
The link is definitive, but basically you always play everyone in your division home and away, plus the teams from selected divisions in both conferences on a rotating basis every year.
The Dolphins have made some good acquisitions and are my dark horses for a playoff place this season. Could easily give the Patriots a battle IMO.
I'm really missing the Seahawks having a first round pick this year. The mock drafts are just no fun.
Jets and Bucs agree terms for Revis trade.
I think you've won here in all honesty. A first round draft pick in return for an injury risk who's trade also removes some of the salary cap.
Revis is a good player but the first round draft pick allows you to start rebuilding for the future and freeing up some room to acquire new talent in the coming seasons :agree:
The Buccs were a good team last season let down by the leagues worst secondary. Theyve now broken the bank to bring in Revis from the Jets and Goldson from the 49ers. Another definite contender IMO.
Just goes to show how far we've fallen. To be fair thought, I'm very surprised we got a first for him. With all the players we've now moved on our wages must be down a hell of a lot.
They've got a bye in week one already :paranoid:. Aw well. It was fun while it lasted. Looks like we're back to the good old days :violin:
First game for revis + the fucs is against...JETS, should be fun. Incidentally that should be tampa skint for the next couple of years, they splashed out last year signing carl nicks + vincent jackson and now goldson + revis + casillas, methinks josh freeman won't be getting his contract renewed now ;)
Just doing a bit of catch up while watching the Hibs game. The Buckeyes played, well they played themselves in a scarlet v grey bounce type game last weekend. Game was played at the Bengals stadium and the thing that stands out to me is that the crowd was 37,643 :applause::applause::applause:.
We are going west coast next season which means that we should be throwing the ball more. Watch Revis return at least 2 for a TD. Remember, it's Sanchez throwing the ball :hide:.
Who's idea is it to go with a west coast offence when we've got this guy as QB .
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/04/sec-...me-attendance/ some crazy spring game attendances from auburn and alabama, SEC teams looking like they will carry on their recent strong showings, the dominant division and as some pundits call it, the NFC SE ;)
Just a heads up NFL Game Pass is free this weekend for those who do not have it and would like to watch the draft
2013 1st round draft tonight, im predicting the Saints to draft Kenny Vaccaro or Sheldon Richardson, the popular pick would be Barkevious Mingo but its not often a team picks the player the fans want :greengrin i dont think any QB will go in the 1st round this year, not 1 of them comes across as a franchise ready QB, they all look like backups TBH, im also keeping a look out for Terron Armstead an OT who had a brilliant combine and Tyrann Mathieu a top player with some off field shenanigans to his name :smokin mind you with a dad in jail for murder an absent mum and being adopted by your aunt and uncle id say hes done well for himself to get this far :agree:
No QBs in the first 7...
Rams trade up over the Jets for Austin
5 out of 10 are OL.
NFL Network trolling the Jets for drafting a CB. They're forgetting that we'll not be Milliner $16 million per year. I'd take Nasib next just to p off the Bills for screwing us out of Tavon Austin
Can't believe Floyd is still on the board.
Jets take a DT... Fans were booing it seemed?
Yep, jessies booed their pick. He best get used to it I suppose...
Wasn't the dream pair of picks, unlucky to see a lot of positional needs disappear right before our two choices - I'm certain we were after Tavon Austin and that's why the Rams moved up. I'm sure both players will be great players though. We'll have some defensive line in a couple of years with Coples, Wilkerson and now Richardson.
Still some interesting players left - Floyd, Smith and Teo.
Floyd has gone, Teo will go soon but I dont see Geno going in the 1st now
Still, booing your draft picks? Jets-class.
I think that the Rams have done well here. Trade up for a great player and trade down to facilitate it, but maintain your two first rounders. Looking forward to our picks tomorrow now!
Aw hope no Patsy fans have been staying up to watch them pick in the first
All the "experts" plus all of twitter agreed the Jessies booed that second pick.
Im a bit pissed we traded but we got 4 more for it... Not sure who we go for now anyways.
Datone Jones was our first pick, I dont know much about him but plays in an area needing looked at IMO.
It's strange - for all I love both the NCAA and the NFL, I just can't get excited about the draft. Same every year.
Most likely because we're never in a position to capture any of the REALLY exciting names (and not that I wish for that).
Anyone know what time the draft starts tonight?
Cheers,might watch it.
Typical Jets. They do something right and then 10 mins later they totally blow it. Dee Millner looks the part and is by far the best CB in the draft. With Revis leaving it makes sense and I've no complaints there. Then it comes to Sheldon Richardson . Don't get me wrong, he's a good player but I don't see how he fits our system and despite our loses, where he will play. A very strange pick at that point in the draft as there was plenty of better players in there.
Good news is that we could be going against the grain and looking like our next pick could actually be on the O. Talk of us even trading up for a QB. Geno Smith is the obvious choice but there are a few teams looking at him.
Rodgers signs new contract
But you never know how a player is going to turn out in the pros. The Seahawks were mercilessly slaughtered in the press last season for drafting Bruce Irvin who nobody rated as a first rounder, and took Russell Wilson to a chorus of 'who? in the third round. And they did OK :greengrin Sheldon Richardson rookie of the year?
dee miliner looks the part at CB but hes had 5 surgeries already :hmmm: not sure if his body will hold up when the cold weather rolls in on the east coast :greengrin , my view is the jets must be looking at a tight end next, or a good size WR, but its rex ryan calling the shots so who knows :greengrin
There goes Manti Te'o to San Diego!
brave pick by the jets taking geno smith :agree: does he start??
Geno smith to the Jets!
I'm going to take a guess and say Green Bay will pick Eddie lacy
Quite happy with Jamie Collins to New England. A very decent looking prospect :agree:
well my vaccaro pick came in and im well chuffed we were able to get Armstead, i never thought he would still be available, he was my hope to god we get him pick, loads of upside to his game and sure to be a star in the years to come! ( cue a drunken car crash in arkansas in the next 3 months) :greengrin
Some interesting moves yesterday. Jets did well with Chris Ivory coming in and drafting Smith. Honey Badger to Arizona, Barkley still not picked. Seattle drafted a RB whos first name is 'Christine' :dunno:
Wow - quite delighted with Aaron Dobson from Marshall - tall, fast WR with long arms who demonstrated an ability to make plays even in coverage.
We needed a WR and this seems like a good capture.
We'll just have to bite the bullet with Sanchez - if we cut him before June we can save a bit on the monstrous contract we gave him. We also restructured D'Brickashaw Ferguson's deal to give us an extra 5mil in cap which will help somewhere.
Tebow is now more likely to hang around I believe.
I really doubt that Okoye will go until the seventh round when one of the teams with stockpiled picks can afford to take a punt, if at all. Josh Wort won't get drafted either.
Of our picks last night, I'm quite happy. We needed an RB and given the class this year and our strength across the rest of the field, it was right to go for the best one available. Jordan Hill should form a good rotation with Brandon Mebane at DT, especially because backups like Clinton McDonald never left me with a lot of confidence.
Did GB give up their 3rd round pick? I fell asleep but can't see anything else about a pick after lacy
:agree: it definitely fills our last need, in the middle. I think its very possible that one of our new 'defensive end' signings (Bennett is big enough), could operate in the middle. Front four of Bruce Irvin, Michael Bennett, Mebane and Cliff Avril with Hill in the rotation and Clemons due back in mid season looks pretty strong on paper.
I like KJ a lot.
our latest two picks; WR Chris Harper, but built like a TE at 234lbs, and another monster defensive tackle Jesse Williams, a 325 lb Australian covered in tattoos. We've also got another corner from LSU, and we still have SIX picks in the last two rounds. I was really expecting us to get another QB by now.
Surprised Shoelace had to wait until the 5th round to be drafted - to Jacksonville in the end!
Quite glad to see he's not been drafted as a QB because he was pish throwing the football in Michigan.
Can't say I know much about the Rutgers CB or Safety we've acquired or indeed the TCU WR. Not teams I've seen much off in the past couple of years.
I'm just surprised I called one of these right :greengrin. I make that 6 QB's we've got. Who says we don't know what we are doing .
I thought it was the other way around. If we cut him before June its gonna cost us something like $20 million but will only, only :faf: be about $12 million after June. I could be completely wrong though. Only god knows whats going to happen with Tebow but he's no use in a West cost O so don't get why he's not been freed. He has apparently been working out a lot though and has lost a kit load weight.
Tebow has been working out?! He has been on speaking tours and appearing at Gators games. He isnt "all in" as his PR person has said. CFL here he comes!
130 days until the new season!
Tebow is released by NY Jets.
Tebow signs for the Patriots!!
is not something you are likely to see happen anytime soon
Logic would dictate that he's off to the CFL. Montreal seems the best bet given that they own his negotiating rights . Think he'd do all right there with the bigger pitches making loads of room for his running.
Time for a new avatar me thinks.
From the official Patriots' website:
