Pretty close fight the 10-8 was the difference. Fury sat back and tried to nick the undisputed championship whilst Usyk grabbed it. Think fury need to change trainer and cut off his daft dad and crew. The fact they let him fight Ngannou in the shape he was shows their professionalism.
I'd take the rematch to be close also, looking forward to it

Scoring in boxing has always been problematic, it’s very subjective not everyone sees or is looking for the same thing, unfair there’s not real alternative unless you go on punches landed .

I don't think we'll see Fury fight again. He likes to let himself go between fight so there's no way he'll be ready to go in October. He'd need to be back in camp by the summer and I just don't see that happening.
Usyk won't continue on if it's not for the rematch and I don't think he'll wait for Fury. There's nobody else for him to fight, I can't see him having much interest in fighting AJ for a 3rd time.
Fury AJ is possible but I think Fury knows deep down he's not the same fighter and there's a real possibility he could get sparked out. He's driven by ego and he can claim that he was cheated by the Judges against Usyk and he's never truly been beat, despite the fact he was clearly beaten IMO.
Saying all that, I have a feeling the version of Fury from Wilder 2 or the Kiltscho fight may well have beaten Usyk.
Fury will fight in October he's had massive weight-loss in the last 6 months which drains you, as he wasn't bothered about Ngannou stupidly. He kept trim and came back much stronger for wilder. I'd probably favour him for the rematch but it's heavyweight boxing so one punch can change everything.
He reportedly got £90 million last night which is also an incentive whilst obscene.

The weight loss is nothing new for him, he's done that his entire career. The amount he lost post Ngannou is actually a lot lower than what he's had to do previously. I don't think that's a reason for his loss.Quote:

I think the fight was closer than many are saying. Usyk won the first 2 rounds but I think Fury won the next 4 clearly and was up at that point. 7 and 8 were close before 9 was the big round for Usyk, 10 was Usyk and I thought 11 and 12 were both close, Fury wobbled Usyk in 12 so I'd give him that. I thought a couple of round for Usyk was about right, I've seen some claiming it was a 9 or 10 round win for him which is almost as bonkers as the judge who scored it for Fury. I don't agree with the assesment Fury was gassed. I was amazed how quickly he got his legs back under him after that battering he took in the 9th. He was still moving well in the last couple. I think he was concussed though, his press conference was a ramble and I think he ended by saying 'happy new year to you all'.
Fury needs clarity in his corner. Steward's instructions were clear, work the body, work the body and work the body. When Fury was aggressive in doing that he was successful. All his best rounds came from his stepping in and he was nore than capable of landing, some of those uppercuts to the body hurt Usyk and he was staggered at least twice. Then you have the clown father going on about being 'fighting men's and telling him to hunt the head with the jab. For all he's 35 and 6'9" he's still clearly **** scared of his father. It was a confused performance. There was a strategy there that worked for Fury, broadly the same one that brought Joshua success against Usyk late on in their 2nd fight, but he was unwilling to keep implementing it because his dad said not to. He needs to send him packing.
Really good summary PB and 100% agree regarding Fury's corner. I think the 114-113 in favour of Usyk was how I had it. 2-2 after 4. Fury won the next 3 before the fight turned in the 8th and the knockdown in the 9th was what won it ultimately with both taking 6 rounds eachQuote:

Just watched the press conference, don't think 140 will serve him well, does not look great at all where as Catterall looks relatively fresh faced, still hopeful Josh does the business.
Josh looked good at the weigh in, didnt look as drained as the last fight if anything Catterall looked the more drained off the two, interesting.
A Josh Taylor with a good camp behind him is something we’ve not seen since he beat Ramirez. If he can walk Jack onto a shot like the first knockdown from that fight Jack won’t beat the count
