UAE vs Australia wc qualifier just started. boyle starts with Jackson Irvine. Jamie McLaren on the bench. Some yams as well
Germans v Englandshire should be decent game. Only question is how many times they can mention 1966 ?
Twice so far. In fairness, think it's all like new info for the female presenters :greengrin
Martin Boyle just assisted Jackson Irvine for 1-0. Superb goal.
1-1 UAE Oz quick reply.
2-1 to Australia
Nice move from The Germans, 1-0
1-0 Germany keeper poor.
Since becoming a German beer and football is somehow much more enjoyable. DDÜA
England look tired and rubbish
Neuers ability with both feet is incredible. Could play central midfield.
What's this competition for? I honestly am losing track?
Penalty England….seemed of the mega soft variety that!
Kane falls down in the box
no way
Never a penalty, Kane was offside in the first place then tripped over his own feet. Var useless again. What a waste of money. It just gives useless referees a degree of credibility.
Lithuania battered at home from turkey 0-6
Was a good penalty to be fair but undeserved.
Does this go to a ET/shoot out or end as a draw?
Could someone explain how that was a penalty. He looked offside and he tripped over his own feet. if that’s what var brings to the game then it’s got to be be binned in Scotland.
Brown envelope is the only explanation as to how that's a penalty. Utterly disgusting decision - not only is he offside when the ball is played through, he ****ing trips himself up after the ball is long gone.
Horrific officiating.
50 goals for Kane in 71 caps for England. Will probably match Rooney’s record of 53 goals in 119 caps before the World Cup starts.
Did I just see a player being sick then on the pitch? Maybe seeing things!
If he was onside it was definitely a penalty. Guy did clip him
The useless biased English pundits claiming it was a clear penalty but not a word was said about Kane being clearly offside.
Beg to differ, it happens all the time - it's clear his foot kicks the back of his other leg as he tries to adjust himself in getting to the ball (after it was well away from the pair of them).
If that's a penalty (assuming we're just ignoring that he's blatantly offside anyway), the game is truly done.
so what your saying he wasn’t standing in a offside position when the ball was kicked. Okay it might have come off a German player but he was in a offside position gaining an advantage , then he goes down like a sack o tatties tripping over his own feet and gets a pen. The games goosed.
Nope, I’m saying he was in an offside position but didn’t commit an offside offence by touching the ball.
Therefore if he’s not touched the ball and been fouled then a penalty is correct.
If he touched the ball, or impeded and opponent which prevented them playing the ball, then no penalty.
If he scores then no goal as he’s committed an offence.
The Nations League is another avenue for three teams to qualify for Euro 2024 that don't qualify through the normal qualifying campaign - it's the competition that allowed Scotland to qualify for Euro 2020. The winners of Leagues A, B and C (out of the teams that haven't qualified automatically through the conventional route) will qualify for Euro 2024.
If the winners of any of the Nations League groups have already qualified for Euro 2024 their place will go to the next best team that hasn't qualified.
There's play offs taking place in March 2024 which will determine the final three teams to qualify for Euro 2024.
There's also a Nations League Finals which will be played in June 2023, this is contested between the four group winners from League A and will consist of two semi finals, a third place play off and a final.
Winning Leagues B, C and D will result in promotion to the next group up for the next edition of the Nations League and finishing bottom of Leagues A, B and C will result in relegation to the next group down.
Scotland's currently in League B along with Armenia, Ireland and Ukraine.
Aussie twitter asking who tonight Motm is, peep the comments. Half of me is happy for him, other half is gutted he's gone. What a player.

The four winners of each group (or the best team that hasn't already qualified for Euro 2024 through the normal qualifying route) within each league go forward to the play offs. There's then two semis and a final for each league from A-C and the winners of each final is each group's (A-C) representative in Euro 2024.
Harry Kane sure takes a good penalty. I don't think I've seen him miss one.
Great assist for Boyle last night to set up Jackson Irvine.
Out of the 51 he has taken over his whole career, he has missed 8, 2 for England. His last miss was in the semi final of Euro 2020 against Denmark, but he scored the rebound on that occasion. The only other miss for England was against Turkey in a friendly 2016 but he did also score in that match and England won it 2-1. Pretty safe pair of boots to take pen :agree:
Pretty clear that he isn't offside. You are only offside when you touch the ball, or impede an opponent - when in an offside position. Kane doesn't touch the ball and is impeded as he goes for it, not the other way round. I still think it wasn't a penalty as he did his usual dive - but he wasn't offside.
I know that the German player played the ball, and you can then argue that it was a positive action to play the ball, which I agree it was. But even if he hadn't played the ball Kane didn't touch the ball - so basically it was doubly not offside. And he still dived - no penalty!!
Might not have been offside under the current rules but it certainly should have been.
He is offside all through the passage of play and makes no attempt to change that.
The foul, if it was one, wouldn't have happened had he not been offside.
Interesting line up for scotland tonight
At least he's playing a proper RB instead of a LB there like last week, didn't work when he tried shoehorning Tierney into the team until he realised Tierney could play in a back 3. TBH I'm not overly fussed about these Nations league games, I'll have it on but with the volume low.
Good goal scotland
Good cross Armstrong, good goal Ralston - pointed to where he wanted it.
One thing I've noticed, we have a lot of lefties in our team, 5 at least I can see, think Gordon is one 2.
Really good performance so far.
Big Scott McKenna get in!
I hadn't realised he played quite as much as he did for Forest this season. Heading for the prem
2-0 McKenna from Mcginn corner.
Armenia are mince
3-0 McKenna
Offside. Still 2-0. VAR strikes.
Still 2-0 - goal disallowed by VAR.
Scotland doing well but Armenia are the poorest international side I’ve seen for a long time.
Half time, 2-0.
Goal or not Scotland have been sharp tonight but don't know how much that's to do with Armenia being poor.
The wins what is important, and I’m glad to see we’re on top. I’ve been so bored watching it though.
