You’d hope so but really it lies with the player and whether they want it or not

The 'Hibs way' just happens to coincide with those all-too rare periods when we have a team full of highly talented, attack-minded players eg the Famous Five, the Tornadoes, the spell under Miller when we had McAllister and O'Neill, the Sauzee/Latapy era, Mowbray's young guns etc.
Otherwise we're mostly just the same as any other club, trying to get a winning team on the park. It's not the manager's job to play 'the Hibs way' or even to entertain. As Bobby Williamson said 'if you want entertainment go to the cinema', which echoed Alan Durban's 'if you want entertainment go and watch clowns' from about 20 years previously.
Gray's job is to get results and not particularly care how they're achieved. If he can do that consistently then he can start to think about extras like entertainment. It beggars belief that there are still some who would rather NOT have the success rate a manager like Derek McInnes brought to Aberdeen because they claim not to have liked the style of football. Especially as evidence of freeflowing 'Hibs way' type football at ER has been all but non-existent for years now.
Non Hibs games thread even infected these days.
The thing about it though as much as football is about results it’s also about fans going or watching games to enjoy a good game of football which is entertainment, no? .
If you asked me what two Hibs players I most enjoy watching when on their game it would have to be Boyle and Youan … there’s a reason why it’s them and that’s because they are entertaining!.
McInnes record while good repeatedly comes up by a minority on here like yourself though there was circumstances that helped him achieve it at time that we won’t see probably happening again…
It’s not just Hibs fans like myself that have said they don’t like his style of football but Aberdeen and Killie ones too and probably a reason he hasn’t got any offers from a championship club in England and why both Edinburgh clubs and Aberdeen didn’t move or him too …
Under a manager that’s teams play like McInnes it would be fine when things are going well though once they start not too that’s when he’d come under more criticism than most at our club . Hell , we seen it with Jack Ross and even today I answered another poster who referred to our football as ‘ rank rotten’ and ‘ turgid stuff’ under Gray which is why McInnes would be a recipe for disaster at Hibs though I do think some of you idolise the guy and his name will get mentioned tomorrow and the next , the day after that etc etc ..
He doesn’t always win playing Sheite though as it wasn’t that long ago the Killie fans were calling for him to go !!!…. You say I’m lying BH though that’s simply not correct is it and I think you know that as Aberdeen were on bad run before they sacked him , he had one at Bristol City and two at Killie now .
All managers have bad runs and McInnes would be no different in that respect if he was at Hibs as manager which is why it would end up like a Jack Ross situation again… been through is Aberdeen stats over and over again without Hibs , hertz and rangers in the league too .
In my lifetime (44 years) Hibs have managed consecutive top 4 finishes only once (2004/5 and 2005/6).
A thoroughly embarrassing stat.
Yet we don't think someone who managed it 8 years on the trot is the right candidate?
I just can't comprehend the mindset behind such a stance.
Any chance we can take this elsewhere. It's not as if there aren't multiple threads about Hibs out there.
No but realistic enough to know that if Leicester City reappointed Claudio Ranieri that they wouldn’t win the league again.. which is what a few hardened admirers of McInnes is suggesting he’d do with us which wouldn’t happen either as they were extraordinary times in 3 of the top 6 teams weren’t in it and one of the old firm wasn’t the team they were in the past … it’s all fantasy prediction stuff IMO .
I dont think any manager would have us 2nd ahead of the huns, no idea where you get that idea from?
There is a manager out there who has though, and let me tell you it's not Sean Maloney, Lee Johnson, Monty, Jack Ross or David Gray, in fact only one person who's managing in Scotland, but you wouldnt have him because he's a hun.
Things seem to be getting messy in English football….
