Josh Nisbet isn’t our player, thankfully. Neither is Jake Doyle Hayes, again, thankfully.

Maybe McKay did not want him because he judged him not good enough for us?
Nothing on Hoilett or Rocky yet, would have thought Hoilett would have been relatively straight forward.
My Oz son in law has just said Josh Nisbet has signed for Roda in the Dutch 2nd tier. Can’t see the standard being much better than the Scottish Championship tbh

Only thing I can think of with Hoilett is that he wants to play more often than he will here. He’d play a part here but he’d be in and out the team a fair bit you’d imagine.
I really hope he stays. Him and Gayle were the best two players, of that type of age and experience, that we’ve had in ages.
Hibs interested in Man United left winger Ethan Williams
Was on loan at Cheltenham in league two last season and got 8 starts
'Moan Hibs, gonnae gie us a wee transfer surprise to cheer up a dreary Thursday?
Monty says here he was keen to resign Rocky but it didn’t materialise , did he turn down a contract? .Monty also says they worked hard on his attributes , maybe so but there’s only one manager he’s really improved under tbh …

Welcome Raphael
Good.
A position that needs addressed so pleasing to get a deal done early (unless it's Bursik on a permanent deal).
Good to be getting our signings in early
We're signing a keeper called Sallinger? An actual Catcher in the Rye? This is too good to be true.
Donatello next
Looks a bit like Jason Mewes, at least his Wiki photae does.
Welcome to the greatest club on earth, Raph.
That lad is a number one. No doubts.
Looks a decent one on paper. Good height, good age, played at a decent level and was first choice at previous club. Ticks a lot of boxes.
If he can oust Smith then he will have done well.
Some nice words from his old club on their website:
Sallinger has been with TSV since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 2018. Initially, the now 29-year-old was the reserve goalkeeper behind Rene Swete. However, the Klagenfurt native showed patience and has been the undisputed number one in the TSV goal for the past two and a half years. He played 106 games in blue and white, keeping 31 clean sheets.Raphael Sallinger was the team's calming influence, the "Iceman," who was an important part of the team both on the pitch and in the locker room.Raphael Sallinger: "I know that this decision will mark the end of a very special chapter in my career. A time in which I truly learned a lot, met special people, and experienced special moments. I was there for seven years and am proud that I was able to play a key role, especially in the last two and a half years as No. 1. Those were certainly the club's two most successful years, with the points record and championship playoff last year and the cup final this year. Now I'm looking forward to my new challenge at Hibernian. I will always keep TSV and all those who have accompanied me close to my heart and wish everyone involved only the best!"Chairman and Managing Director Erich Korherr: "Salli approached us with his desire to transfer. He was an absolute pillar of support and a key player until the very end, and played a major role in our success. His strength with his feet and in passing is unparalleled in Austria. He also repeatedly saved points with many brilliant saves and strong reactions on the line. Of course, the loss hurts greatly, but it shows once again that TSV Hartberg is a perfect platform to put yourself in the spotlight and promote yourself for higher responsibilities. The move abroad is the next step. We also warmly congratulate Raphael and wish him a call-up to the red-white-red national team one day. The search for a suitable replacement is in full swing; the requirements profile is clear."Dear Salli, thank you for your loyalty, your commitment, and your outstanding performances. All the best for the exciting challenge in Scotland!
That’s a great send off from both club and player, very classy. Excited about this one!
Will find out how he shapes up next season, but he has the profile to improve our team/squad.
Experienced and plenty of games at a first team level comparable with our league.
This looks a very good signing, welcome to the Hibees :flag:
Interesting one this. I can’t see a player leaving somewhere where he’s clearly well thought off and is currently number one, not to be number one here.
Between this and McGrath, we certainly don’t look like we’re willing to stand still. Precious years I think we’d just have continued with Smith (he might still have the gloves come the European tie) and just brought in a cheap second choice on loan or something.
“His strength with his feet and in passing is unparalleled in Austria. He also repeatedly saved points with many brilliant saves and strong reactions on the line.”
Hearts are going to batter us the first Derby and we will win 1-0.
This is Chris maxwell trying to replace Ofir Marciano all over again...
See that Ethan laidlaws contract is up at Brentford this summer, wonder if he’s someone we may be back in for after he left us before? Liked the look of him for the youth team
Smith has been good but we should always be striving for better. If this lad comes in as number one and is better then I'm all for it. If not then we have a good keeper ready to step in. Hopefully Smith keeps his chin up. He's done nothing wrong but that's what happens at a big club with big ambitions.
Hopefully that’s now two good keepers on the books. I can’t forgot the fear I had towards the end of last season (when 3rd was still unconfirmed) when Smith went down injured. I had visions of Bursik fumbling the ball into his own goal, and 3rd place with it. Fortunately Smith got back up.
The think I like about a signing like this is that Goalkeeper is a universal ability. Far to often good players from other leagues (Vente) fail to take to the Scottish game, but shouldn’t be an issue here and it looks on paper like we have made a really good signing. It’s a shame on Smith to loose the number 1 spot but it leaves us strong in the goals.
He was playing at that level back when he left us 2 years ago, I’d imagine he’d be improved after 2 years of training and playing with Brentford b team, perhaps I’m wrong and he will drift off to obscurity but, would love to see a young homegrown player come back and set the Heather alight
Competition is good for places. If Smith keeps the gloves then it will be because he is performing, if this guy comes in and displaces him it will be because he is better and we know we have a more than able deputy.
Sentiment is for fans. Gray, Mackay etc etc knew we needed another keeper and they'll base their decision on who starts next season on what is best for the team.
**** sake he looks taller than me and thats him sitting down 😵
That looks a great signing on paper - ticks many boxes from that leaving statement:
- A good character in the dressing room.
- Played lots of games.
- Rated by his Austrian Bundesliga club/gutted to see him leave.
- Good age.
- Ambition to play for his National Team.
I really like Jordan Smith though, so may the best GK…play.

Sounds like he is really pleased to be here.
Welcome ,Raph.
I reckon we must be in the best shape that we’ve been in at this stage as we’ve been in a long time.
We obviously have a bit of work to do but, as it stands today, we could put a pretty decent team on the park.
Goalies taken care of. Bit of work to do defensively, I still think we might see some change in there. But, again, as it stands, we can field a decent defence.
I think the right hand side is somewhere we need to look at. As a minimum we need someone to provide competition. Left hand side is sound with Cadden and Obita. Middle of the park we need a replacement for Triantis but we also have Manneh who were yet to see much of and McGrath coming in who I think will be a solid signing, at worst.
We’ve got a striker who has just scored 20 last season and Bowie who will be good, fitness permitting. Then you’ve still got Vente and Youan who we either sell and reinvest or who come back in to the squad.
All in all, I think we have a real chance to kick on.

Welcome to Easter Road big ralph, gives smith some competition and I'm sure both will be giving a chance but will be interesting to see who SDG goes with as no 1 going into the European games and the league.
Comes across well in his interview , another with the right character the club has spoken about . I don’t know much about him though seemed to be liked and rated at his previous club . Looks like we have two good keepers now …

He's came from a bottom six Austrian Bundesliga club - he may be very good who knows, but I don't think we can say with any certainty that he is automatically our number one. I think Smith will start the seasons as our number one and it will be his jersey to lose.
Impressive English for someone who's never played in an English speaking country before. Not that I should be surprised any more, they are so much better than we are with languages than us generally speaking. Anyway, welcome aboard the Hibee train.....
Much happier now we’ve signed a keeper.
Delighted we’ll have two top keepers fighting it out to be number one, as opposed to bricking it in the last five games that Smith would get injured. Had a few close calls where I thought we’d have to bring Bursik on.
Welcome to Hibs, Raphael
So on a scale of Jason mewes how do feel about this signing Attachment 28869

Looks good in the highlights the club have posted but smith had some cracking saves since he came in, looks like we have 2 good keepers now
He was 4th in save percentage in Austrias top league with 72.5%, comparable to Smiths 75% 2nd best in Scotland and although these comparisons arent exact across leagues they are revealing, and save % is the most useful stats out there (possibly excluding expected saves). He also had the most total saves with 100, so was clearly busy last season, he played in all but one of his teams league games last season, so theres a big body of evidence there.

Robbin Propper looks to have got a move back to FC Twente
If Smith finds himself number 2 I wouldn’t be surprised if he moved.
His performances with us will have alerted alot of clubs how good a keeper he actually is and now he’s played a consecutive amount of games in a row he might now have a taste of being number 1.
I really like smith, still his gloves to lose as far as I’m concerned.
Did we pay a fee for the keeper? Seen his contract wasn’t due to expire until 2026 and there was some chat about him having a release clause but didn’t see anything about us paying a fee?
