Inter have gave one of the poorest displays in Champs League final that I can remember. Been good defensively but almost zero quality going forward.
dreadful corner
How did Lukaku miss that???
if only inter had tried to get over half way line before last 10....
Typical Lukaku
Football is finished. Been a finance game for ages but this is now proof you can take over any team and then pump billions in the club and win anything and everything.
The sport is completely pointless. Golf going same way - no integrity in the sports.
no VAR tonight
Yes bet came in Ederson 4 plus saves and a yellow card 14/1
my heartfelt congratulations to the Middle East in winning another cup
History will remember City won it but there was nothing to remember about the game. Borefest.
Appallingly poor game but best team in tournament won in the end which does not always happen
That was awful. Inter were dreadful.
Well done to City, European champions and a treble. That's the culmination of everything Sheikh Mansoor has wanted since he arrived in 2009. It's cost a fortune, but they have made some journey.
I’m Absolute snore fest
And the commentary makes you resent it even more. Like watching an England game. Can’t stand England and English football
**** game. West Ham winning other night felt like proper football, City winning tonight just feels wrong.

"the greatest story in football club history"
Oh do **** off.
The whole game can be summed up by Onana throwing the ball out to a defender with 2 City players bearing down on him 4 minutes and 30 seconds into 5 minutes of stoppage time.
All night Inter played themselves into trouble from the back.
Hope Haaland goes on a week long session now
Hopefully City and there practices get found out down the line
One of the least memorable Champs Leagues finals, and other than City fans, does anyone really care?
Meh, is about as strong a reaction as I can muster.
The commentary team especially near the end made me feel sick.
Lescott isn’t even a city fan. Plastic club plastic fans.
Amazing what a few billion pounds does, Roy of the rovers stuff
Is it weird to say I quite like Grealish?
I wish I understood why the Middle East is burning through money by pumping it into football clubs.
Understand the toy aspect but are they building clubs to take advantage of the Sky money once oil dries up?
Don't understand the point. Sheikh Mansour barely attends games. Clearly doesn't care about the club even though ridiculous money being spent.
Comes across as a means of distracting common people from the ridiculous inequality in the world now. Pretty much the same as what's happening in politics at the moment - mini scandals or distractions from the bigger issues in the world.
**** final won by a truly horrible club, commentated on by idiots.
Newcastle could well be the next English team to do it. They are going to spend like City and are equally ambitious.
Usually I watch these post match celebrations after a major final and, even as a neutral, get caught up in the emotion of the occasion. Not with this one, I’m totally detached.
Fair play to Man City, there will be genuine Man City fans who have followed them through the bad times, just like Chelsea and Abramovich etc. Obviously there will also be the glory hunters, it happens.
Such a shame how many people get bought out of their integrity though.
All these commentators sounding as if City have grown through their own means and fought against Goliath.
Then what's happened in golf as well. Absolutely no integrity whatsoever.
Everyone taking backhanders and then the customers still get ripped off by Sky, BT and whoever.
This will collapse. The greed in the world is already causing huge problems but this is going to escalate. World is mental.
I'm a bit torn on the whole thing.
There will be City fans there tonight who were attending games at Maine Road in the 3rd tier and would never have dreamed then they would see a night like this. City had their low point at about the same time their city rivals were bagging trebles of their own so there will be an enjoyment out of that too. I never really see City fans as plastics albeit there will be a tourist bandwagon that has developed over the last few years. When a club is taken over and success follows there aren't many fanbases that ask too many questions as a collective, I daresay Hibs would be no different if we were suddenly turning over Rangers and Celtic and playing Barcelona on a Wednesday night.
You can't just overlook the sportwashing though and when you remove that emotion that comes with actually being a fan then City are now a club it is very easy to dislike. Like others as soon as the FT whistle went I turned off.
Well, I originally was keen for some link with Man City as we might be able to get some decent youngsters on loan or they might be able to help with our scouting etc.
Now, I'd rather we just avoided them. Hibs will lose their identity if they become in any way linked to the City group. I only want Hibs to have links to genuine clubs which probably means foreign clubs. England's top divisions have too many dodgy owners now.
Stay well clear Hibs.
Glad for Gundogan and De Bruyne who have been exceptional this season and deserve it .
Let's just say, for arguements sake, the supposed City Group takeover happened and Hibs found themselves in the Conference League Final. We'd all be there and we'd all be celebrating the win, don't for a single second think we wouldn't. We all want our team to win at ALL costs. For 99.9% of us, morals go out the windows. It would happen with all fans.
I read Noel Gallagher belittling Porto's win in 2004 the other day, saying they're not "elite". What a fanny he is.
That Oasis back together again then?
Of course the money involved is vulgar, but they are a great side with a great manager. A treble is a brilliant achievement, very difficult to do. They play the game the right way and they are the best in the world right now. The elite level is money driven now, sadly.
Don't think I would. It would feel so hollow.
Sport is pointless if success is bought. It's been bad for ages but recently it is becoming a joke, especially in England.
It is not a game for the common person anymore. It's a toy used by rich consortiums to distract the common person from the important world issues.
When you think that stadium hosted an epic final between a Milan team and a Lancashire team...this was the polar opposite.
But the fairytale story of the plucky underdogs, the romantic people's champions...well it definitely wisnae tonight.
LanceArmstrongFC finally prevailing is not the stuff of dreams.
**** City
Porto have still won that trophy more often than Man City. In fact it’s 4-2 in overall European trophies.
on a side note it’s ridiculous how often they wheel him or his brother out every other week like some sort of oracles to talk about their doped up little Middle Eastern project club
Haaland is a robot 🤖
I appreciate your honestly, but ultimately most football fans want their team to win things.
My daughter lives in Newcastle. Her boyfriend and parents are huge Newcastle fans and have been all their lives. Owned by Saudis? I think they look at that as being a bonus compared to Mike Ashley. A successful Hibs team would change people's opinion on whoever owned the club.
I don't mind loaning players in using the City Group connections though that's were it stops for me . I think it would be a very sad day if our club with its history became another wee reserve club for City like the other 13 or 14 they own . City Group can F*** off on that .
What a weirdly subdued celebration.
Sadly this dynamic is exactly why filthy rich people get to ruin the lives of the common people.
Give them a small carrot. A carrot that comes with a cost no less. Newcastle ST price will probably go up as the club sign better players. Sky and BT subs will go up.
It is a sad state of affairs to be honest. Wish common people could unite and have some involvement in matters that truly affect their lives rather than just being distracted by the niceties the wealthy decide we can have (and charge us a premium for us to have them).
It is no surprise that a lot of this stuff has started to happen when we have a worldwide issue with inequality. Nothing much has changed tbh, it's like having gladiators in a colosseum. Distract people as you covertly (in this case overtly) make their lives worse.
Im not saying its right. But I think a lot of people's morals would change after time, they will have done so already with many Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle fans, dont think they wouldnt with Hibs fans. Me? I'm honest enough to say I'd support a successful Hibs team regardless of who owned or bankrolled them.
In my opinion it wouldn't be Hibs anymore if success were to come artificially.
The stadium would be filled with glory hunters. They'd leave as soon as the success was over and done with.
All notions of being a community club would be over. Regardless of what the billionaire owners do in the local area to show they are "charitable".
It wouldn't just be morally wrong. It would have serious adverse affects to the whole league.
The success will lead to increased ST demand, higher ST prices as a consequence and loyal fans that suffered the bad times may be priced out of going to the games.
Success would be nice but it would come with so many problems. If you are happy to ignore those then fair enough.
Man City's success is like any success The Rangers have. It doesn't matter, they really are a club of very little history and heritage. It's not the same club.
Couldn't care less about premier League titles or competing in Europe if it means becoming a wee feeder club for some English club with rich owners tbh . We have a great history and our own identity and the last thing I want to see is Hibs playing in blue and ' blue moon ' getting belted out at ER instead of SOL , wouldn't be Hibs anymore .
I notice a lot on here are for it though where's it all going to end ? If city group did takes us over , what happens if Newcastle's owners take over hertz , Man U could be taking over by Arabs too and maybe they will buy Aberdeen then . You have basically got English reserve clubs playing in Scotland all own by owners that don't have a real bound with there clubs . Totally 100% against any takeover by the City Group now or in the future.
Nobody's talking about Hibs playing in a different colour or changing our theme. I don't think you've noticed that the only difference between Man City now compared to 20 years ago is they've went from being a laughing stock of English football to being European footballs best team, they still play in the same colours and to the same tune as they always have done.
Hibs inspire to being the best we can be. You don't want to be Premier league champions or in Europe. **** me, do you support Hibs or FC Edinburgh. 😄
Yeah, might sound mad but going miles clear at the top of the Premiership will mean **** all if we're doing it with players on stratospheric wages paid for by endless blood money.
Even going 5-0 up on Hearts will be boring as ****. Easter Road megadome full of tourists and formerly-OF glory hunters politely applauding and taking selfies. I'll go watch Dunfermline thanks.
When you strip away the club names and look at ownership when does it get to the stage where it is just Middle East 1 vs Middle East 2? Or American 1 vs American 2?
Also, if it doesn't become the above vs scenario when does it get to the point where English clubs are champions of Europe every year without any reasonable competition (not far from that now) and then how long until Europe just becomes a play thing for the same 4-6 English clubs?
I don't think people realise that if this doesn't get reined in there won't be European competition for Hibs. Even if one competition survives what is likely coming then it'll likely be a token one with very little monetary reward or any respect.
More of these owners = we only want to play each other. We already have that here with the OF and the TV deal. We have a whole football structure here that only cares about 2 clubs and people welcome a football setup more devoid of morality as long as its Hibs...
People are willing the downfall of the sport and they don't realise it.
Something similar to European Super League will come again. Only certain teams will play in it and the game will be ruined.
Might be more entertaining for a neutral but the game will be done.
I'm sure it was said that some of the other clubs they bought have introduced sky blue kits . Newcastle have a Saudi away kit colours this year too. If the City Group buys us they can do whatever the F the want with us and that's a worry.
Man City were taken over as the TOP TEAM , THE MAIN PRIORITY and the other over a dozen clubs they've bought aren't on the same scale of importance and imo are just bought as accessories for the big one .
I don't want the premier league title if it means selling our club to a bunch of untrustworthy Arabs who I don't think have any love or fondness for our club and would certainly not make us there number 1 priority . Btw we are in Europe incase you forgot. I support a club called Hibs owned by the GORDON'S 💚 and not some English feeder club owned by a bunch of dubious Arabs thanks 👍
Superb post.
It's already here. The "champions league" is dull. Its the same clubs every year and it's boring.
I'm on record with saying scottish football is bent. Well, it is, but all football is bent. I'm quick becoming lost to the game. I just don't like it anymore.

Gutted that Inter couldn't do it tonight. Man City & West Ham now overtake Arsenal for European trophies won. Still can't believe that pathetic excuse of a club were celebrating their rivals winning a football match in February. Bottle jobs.
About 10 years ago imo.
Nowadays I have very little interest in football other than Hibs and even then I’ve found my interest waning. My interest now mainly stems from automatically going to Hibs.net whenever I pick up my phone.
It’s primarily a stage of life / other priorities thing but I’ve subconsciously been viewing games as decapitators vs petrodollars vs American speculators etc for a while. The “soul” left the building long ago.
We certainly didn't know much about the American family that took us over and there has been mistake's made though during there reign they have shown they have Hibs best interests at heart . Since our chairman has sadly passed away we have got to know more about them and they seem a decent family who's main focus is on improving our football club.
As to Arabs being untrustworthy and dubious I'm referring to Man city owners . Why when you own the best and one of the biggest clubs in the world do you need to buy another dozen football clubs and by the looks of it want to buy even more . What are the City Groups Reason's and plans for these clubs ? . Sincerely hope we are never one that they buy has I don't think they'd have any real bound with the club or it's fans the way the Gordon's have . Under the ownership of the city group we'd just a number in a long line of football clubs they own already imo .
Pretty sure things such, as destroying the game and such were said many, many years ago when sport went from amateur to professional, change is enevitable the only way to survive, is to embrace it.
If Citee group want to pump plenty money into Hibs to see us enter Europe every year then I am all for that, been watching our underperforming side for 60 years or so, good times and more bad times, I know which I prefer.
