Motherwell sign Austrian Lukas Fadinger. Sound like he has a decent pedigree tbh.
Ronan Hale would maybe be a useful signing and cheap considering county just got relegated. 36 games played 12 goals for a team who finished 11th is not bad.
There is nothing more surer he is going to be in for these type of players with proven SPFL Experience. Everywhere he has went he has just done that. I always remember when he signed Adam Rooney, that was the first of many players we were in for who he would then move in on.
A Hearts fan has done a detailed breakdown of Hale
https://x.com/liamastewart/status/19...T_cnYbURW-GKJw
From the second Ross County's relegation was confirmed fans have of various Premiership clubs have started discussing Ronan Hale and if he is worth a pick up particularly with rumours of a relegation release clause.
Hearts fans are no different and with Shankland's future still currently a mystery let's take a look and see what the numbers say.
The headline number been thrown around is Hale's 12 league goals this season from an xG of 10.77 - which makes Hale on of just four players outside of Celtic & Rangers to reach the milestone for the season.
Three of Hale's goals came from the spot, leaving nine non penalty goals throughout the season.
A look at those goals further shows;
- Two tidy finishes from tight angles at the edge of the area against Motherwell & Hearts
- A powerful effort unmarked inside the box after getting on the end of a poor clearance against St Mirren.
- Two fantastic runs and finishes against Motherwell, left and right footed.
- A nice turn and finish against Motherwell following a poor piece of defending.
- An incredible finish against Hearts curling one in from the edge of the area and a similar goal against St Johnstone and a tap in against Dundee United.
That means when you breakdown Hale's non penalty goals for the season he scored against Motherwell (4), Hearts (2), St Mirren (1), St Johnstone (1) and Dundee United (1).
The immediate concern for Hearts would be stylistically how he fits McInnes' desired system - a manager that wants width and pace out wide and targets in the box, at 5'7 Hale is certainly not that.
There is of course a precedent for McInnes having some amount of success with smaller forwards, Anderson at Aberdeen and Kilmarnock, and Hale's off the ball movement and ability to attack the space in behind could link up well with Shankland if the striker re-signs.
Hale's numbers tell the story of County's season with the 26-year-old putting up a huge volume of shots and dribbles per 90 but with a below standard completion rate.
No Hearts' player took more shots than Hale (91) while his 37.35% SOT rate ranks lower than any of Hearts' CF options - to be expected with a shot volume almost four times that of Wilson, Vargas, Musa and Kabangu.
His 13% goal conversion rate sits above Musa & Shankland, while only Musa & Vargas, both of which had significant minutes out wide, produced more dribbles per 90 across the season with Vargas the closest comparison.
Hale matches Kabangu's 30% offensive duel win rate despite 25% more duel output per 90.
His 2.61 touches in the box per 90 is lower than any Hearts CF and aligns with the type of goal Hale scored most throughout the season around the edge of the area - but is also easily put down to the deep position and low possession game that County played with the lowest average time on ball in the league throughout the 24/25 season.
This trend continues when you look at Hale's creative and ball progression numbers - with the 26-year-old ranking lowest from Hearts CF options for passes per 90 and fourth for pass accuracy.
The closest comparison on the ball, in terms of output, is James Wilson with the two forwards on par for passes per 90, pass accuracy, passes to the final third whilst Wilson just leads in shot creating actions and xA per 90.
There's clear quality in Hale, but with Elton Kabangu and potentially Lawrence Shankland looking like they are sticking around and James Wilson having a breakout season it is hard to see where Hale would fit in - we have already seen that quality at County doesn't always translate to instant impact at Tynecastle - Yan Dhanda - and lacking tactical versatility from Hale makes it difficult to see how he would fit in for Hearts next year even at a cut price - Musa & Kenny could both leave which would make Hale one of four central options which would make the deal more likely but after a strong individual season is the County man going to accept a spot on the bench? Sam Dalby feels more of a natural fit but with Hearts missing out on Europe potentially a harder name to bring in particularly with interest in Scotland and down south.
Just checked a comparison between Hale this season and Simon Murray for Ross County last season

I’ve always thought there’s a barrowload of goals to be had for a poacher type from the crosses Chris Cadden puts over. Maybe a penalty box type like Hale would be the type to capitalise?
I agree. Think he’s done well in a poor Ross County team but, apart from anything else, I don’t think he’d play very much. We know Gray likes a physical presence so we’ll sign Myko or someone like Myko. They’ll then fight it out with Bowie to partner Boyle. I know we’ll need a squad but we still have Youan contracted (obviously a fair chance Youan will be away). Granted, Gayle is away but Youan would take his place in the squad initially. I don’t think a striker like Hale will be anywhere near being a priority.
Hibs observer;
Hibs have been linked with further midfield additions in free agent Ryan Ledson and Balla Moussa Conte of Tunisian side Sfaxien, although it's understood there isn't concrete interest in the former at this moment in time. Any new arrivals may necessitate departures to avoid the squad becoming bloated once again.
Also said Myk is wanted by another team also.
Gray is clearly a big fan of Myko and I reckon we'll see him back for the new season.
I wonder if we are still interested in Julio Pleguezuelo, although it looks like he may have extended his contract earlier in the year. Wouldn't say no to Ryan Hardie although I'm sure a number of clubs would like him.
One thing I took from Alasanah Manneh’s performance against The The’s was how athletic he was and how good at pressing and intercepting passes he was.
You can see that we’ve targeted taller players up front and at the back, I think we’re beginning to see how SDG would like his midfield to be.
Balla Moussa Conte plays in the same position as Triantis . Wonder if we fail in getting Triantis back will we turn our attentions to him , looks a player …

Hard to imagine Derek McInnes fitting in with the Jamestown analystics
Even going by some of their recent signings and players they’re rumoured with
Signed;
Steinwender - Signed in January and never looked brilliant
Kartum - As above and is a light weight right winger who cuts in. No real pace about him
Borchgrevink - Norwegian right back who signed a pre contract with them
Kyzidiris - left winger from Slovakian league
Heavily rumoured;
Soufiane El Faozi - Attacking midfielder playing in third tier of Germany
Chesnokov - Khazakstanian winger
No chance he plays half them
Funnily enough rumours of them signing Oisin McEntee who was rumoured with us a couple of months ago.
Did you not see his interview on The Scottish Football Social Club. I think he might have doubts himself
Scottish Football Social Club Episode 38
They had to pay a fee for Borchgrevink and my Jambo chum , who btw is always there to tell me how much a player cost as it’s what big teams do, tells me he cost £650k
You forgot to add McCart to that list of meh signings. A fee paid for him too.
Hopefully they continue to sign more of the same.
Suspect the right back might be the pick of the bunch but if they had paid anywhere near that money we would have heard all about it.
Their signings now though starting to look like someone playing football manager and taking punts. Have a good feeling it will be an expensive hodgepodge mess
Hearts get Kabangu back on a permanent 3 year deal. Paid around 250k.
They're not part of a multi club setup, just so happens the best player the world beating analytics found them is a guy who is not needed at another club Bloom has a stake in
Nothing to see here, sure if we signed a player from Lorient they wouldn't be throwing out the "Bournemouth Reserves" chat
Some rumours that it was an obligation to buy rather than an option too . Whatever way you look at it he’s at best IMO an average signing. Seemed to have split opinions on him from their fans that’s of course before he signed permanently and became a world beater who’ll easily score 20 goals this season…

No word.on Shankland yet - wonder what his plans are
I assumed he would have signed a new deal at hearts by now

Bournemouth apparently interested in Kyogo. Can you imagine the carnage if they bought him and loaned him to us for the season
Maybe in the minority but I really hope Shankland doesn’t sign again for Hearts
Really good player and goal scorer, Mcinnes would get him scoring a load imo
Seen that Motherwell have announced their retained list and obviously Jair will now return to us, no surprise there. But I wonder with 1 year left on his deal this may finally be the summer we get shot of him.
I don't know what Bournemouth's signing policy is. Kyogo turned 30 in January. Not sure how much he would cost and what kind of salary he'd want. It's not a player they would make money on. Maybe it's a low risk for a player like Bournemouth? Just doesn't seem to align with previous signings.
I don’t think there’s any chance he’d speak to us let alone sign for us . Must be on a decent wedge at hertz , possibly 5 , 6 or 7k a week ? What would it take to get him 8 or more plus a big signing on fee ? . It might be worth it possibly if you were getting the player that was scoring goals but you could end up with the latest version of the unfit , not scoring with a not so good attitude version . Too much a gamble for that sort of money I think.
Just seen this on twitter. The guy he's quoting has 10k followers and it says he used to work for talksport and Fox Sports news in his bio. Surely we won't be signing both him and the other guy from Austria along with Smith? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...40993e2031.jpg

We do but if one of those 3 keepers is under the age of 22 or 23 (can’t remember which) and came through our youth team then they don’t count as taking up a space in our 25-man squad.
Therefore, I would expect for the first half of the season at least Murray Johnson will be used as our third choice.
Would be surprised if we sign Paulsen as I don’t think it suits either Bournemouth or Hibs , who’d start like? . I think the other keeper rumour probably makes more sense in fairness. Some good saves in there like on this too …

Who would start? The better of the two would start.
I don’t think we need a YouTube reel to be convinced about Smiths abilities in goals, he did well last season.
We should always be trying to sign better though, then it’s up to Smith to prove he’s better than Paulsen.
Rumoured to be £5k a week, so £260k next year in wages.
No danger will he budge unless it's in his interests.
Still paying for past recruitment errors unfortunately. I think Jair Tavares hadn't even played a senior game before signing for us. All at under 20 level possibly.
The mental thing about Jair is that Johnson was apparently stunned we managed to get him.
I wonder if SDG may be able to do something with him to make him an effective impact sub? He had a mini-revival under Montgomery and for a short while looked half decent. His goal against Dundee was impressive.
I doubt it and at best he wouldn’t be more than someone who comes on with ten to go off the bench, but I just wonder.
