I got a ticket for all away games under the loyalty scheme I get a ticket for all away games under the AST. I struggle to comment on this thread as I am so annoyed. I hold the SFA and SNP in very low regard so anything I say will be tainted but how can anybody think that allowing 300 Hibs fans into a 50,000 seater stadium is reasonable or proportionate. Stevie, there is no system that keeps everyone happy, the loyalty scheme was despised because of the HSL debacle, I thought it was a great system. The AST is now seen as elitist and a level of priority above “normal” season ticket holders and to be honest it probably is. We only get a semblance of priority for big games or games with limited capacity. I never hear anybody complaining about getting tickets for Ross County away on a Wednesday night a couple of weeks before Christmas. If i am lucky enough to get a ticket I will be delighted and I am sure our club will get slated regardless of what they do. Anyway all that matters is that we win this cup on 22/5/2021. In general I agree with AST being given priority for in demand games. We’re in unprecedented times though and no one has been at a game this season. I’d maybe go for tranches along the lines of a ballot for AST’s for 50 tickets. A ballot of 225 for all season ticket holders (including AST’s) and a ballot of 25 for everyone on the database as not everyone was lucky enough to be in a position to buy a season ticket.Quote:

There is also serious worries about Glasgow as a whole as testing in certain areas in the south side of Glasgow where Hampden is situated has covid clusters that exceeds the allowed limits in some cases by double the amount and so the city may not move to level 2 next week.
These new covid clusters are caused in part by the Indian variant and its not clear if the AstraZeneca vaccine will protect against this though Pfizer and Moderna do.

If we’re to use the AST list and have 350 ASTs how are we deciding which 50 miss out?
I don’t agree with the decision to allow so few fans in but I’ve come to terms with it.
I personally just think we need to accept no fans are allowed in but the club are allowed a few extra friends and family or sponsors in rather than crowds being allowed in.
My gripe now is more of a general point that Scotland’s route out of this is rubbish with no real intent to get things moving again. I also think they’re out of touch with reality.
Instead of being in a relatively safe outdoor environment people will be congregating in each other’s houses for cup final parties. They can’t be naive anyone to think the vast majority of people are still observing the rules they’ve put in place. They are far too convoluted and for the most part are being ignored, certainly by literally everybody I know that I’ve spoken to about it.
As a big SNP supporter, I’m really disappointed by how the Scottish government are doing with this.
Anyway, **** it, it is what it is and I’m not going to let the ridiculousness of this situation ruin the build up to the cup final for me.
I remember the uefa cup final last year when a group of Sevilla (I think) board member were clearly pished and made a great atmosphere out of it. I just hope the 300 Hibs fans whether that’s employees. Friends and family, NHS staff or AST holders really enjoy themselves and make themselves heard.

Ridiculous that a governing body does not have control of its own stadium for a national cup final, if they had all 4 stands at least there would maybe be a decent number there. Of course hindsight is a great thing, but the phases out of lockdown have been known for a decent amount of time with the prospect of fans being able to attend.
Could have got a lot more fans in at Pittodrie but that would be too inconvenient for the GFA who'd rather have it on their doorstep.

It's very unlikely there will be a huge 'Indian Spike' in Sheffield as the English authorities seemed to structure the snooker event in Sheffield exceptionally well.
There were very extensive and stringent guidelines in place throughout the tournament and then on the final day everyone had to Covid 19 test on arrival and then again 5 days afterwards while no-one under 18 was allowed nor were any vulnerable adults with any underlying health conditions allowed to attend.
The chances therefore of any Covid cases escaping this net are therefore very unlikely and is a real credit to Public Health England and the snooker authorities.:applause: Obviously nothing like this level of stringency will be in place for football events hence the comparison is rather meaningless.
The snooker final in England was also held on the 3rd of May when the Indian variant was still regarded as in its infancy and wasn't regarded as the threat as it is now. The English figures are much more mature than the Scottish figures given the variant reached England first and only today Public Health England recorded 1,300 cases which is double that of just 6 days ago hence you can see the exponential growth that may be involved.
England announced today through Boris Johnson that they are now 'very anxious' about this variant and his government 'are ruling nothing out' to tackle out this including re-inposing local lockdowns. What has spooked England are reports from India that the AstraZenca vaccine might not work against this variant and they are awaiting further data and of course England and Scotland have put so many of their eggs in the AstraZenca vaccine boat.
It will be all these factors that the Scottish government will be taking into account as well as there own figures which were published this week which showed Glasgow is now at 58 cases per 100,000 compared to Scotland at 25 cases per 100,000 . Even more worrying is that the South side of Glasgow where Hampden is situated is showing 74 cases per 100,000 which is 3 times higher than the national average and the firm suspicion is that its the Indian variant that is causing this spike.
600 fans is obviously not to your liking but there is strong science behind all decisions made in England and Scotland with of course political and economic judgements influencing every call but principally these decisions are recommended by highly professional scientists and ran through the computer model by the Covid epidemiologists and any politician in England or Scotland aren't going to ask for a rerun based on the name of a football team taking part. After all there is a huge public enquiry on the way.:wink:

Re the varients - bear in mind this was a brand new virus in January last year - ofcourse certain types of mutations will be worry - what if one of the mutations start killing people in a much younger age group - ignoring the mutations would be total folly
