I will ignore the insults and simply say this is no time to sit back and pat ourselves on the back because we have said no to a newco. The agenda now has shifted to league reconstruction and parachuting newco into the first division in whatever form it takes.
The soundings coming out about the SFA, SPL, SFL get together suggest newco are going to escape more sanctions than they receive. Why has the SFA appellate panel not reconvened? Has it been shelved. Has the SPLs EBT investigation been neatly parked on the shoulders of the oldco. Will the SFL teams be bribed with money from the SPL pot?
The players were always going to leave for their career progression, who can blame them but newco Rangers with a debt free balance sheet and the assets is still an attractive proposition to any consortium with financial backing and assurances that they won't be out the top flight for long hence my opinion that Uncle Wattie will be back in.
This unholy mess isn't over by a long shot and we fans need to keep the pressure on our clubs or we may end up after all this settles thinking how on earth did The Rangers get away with that.
Richard Wilson@RichwilsportSt Johnstone will also vote no to newco Rangers. Full details in @theeveningtimes

Given the financial straits of clubs throughout the land (see an Evertonians viewmon the 200 percenters) what's to stop Sky offering such clubs the haven of a temporary league whilst sitting out suspension ?
a skids row league or dirty dozen? Keep the playerson whilst you get back up the league(s) with another team?
I didn't insult you you know. It's just that I looked up my dictionary to see how they defined "pessimist" and the entry was "Spike Mandela"
I think you are wrong on most counts. The only cheerleader for the huns in any position of power was Doncaster and he's effectively been sidelined by the clubs and I suspect had a good thwacking from Regan, who I think is pretty capable and ensuring there is little recourse for the Hun by way of appeal.
The EBT findings cannot be put on NewHun - that would be illegal, whether or not its morally right or wrong, that is not Scottish Footballs fault.
And we should be patting ourselves for having a club who are tkaing the correct route. There is no possibility for league reconstuction for the start of this season. I'd accept no hun for a year then a reconsitituted HunCo playing an div 1 within a reconstructed league in 2013.

They will be happy at winning the title but if they are halfway through the season and 25 points clear I can't see the stadium being full every week.
So, they wouldn't turn up if they were 25 pts clear but they would if it was 30? :confused:Quote:
I'd punish Rangers by docking them 30 points to give them no chance of winning the title but keep them in the SPL. Gates would still be high and Celtic v Rangers would pack the place out.
Do you think he reads this pish back to himself?
Don't see what optimism or pessimism has to do with any of this it's simply a discussion on what is happening or might happen as this pans out. Sure I passionately want to see sporting justice done on this one and share your reading of how Hibs have conducted themselves.
However until we see what comes of this six hour meeting of the three authorities I will reserve judgement on whether newco are goosed or not. Until I see a team of 18 year olds in The Rangers strips running out at East Stirling in a year or two I won't consider justice to have been done.
Oh by the way I looked up sarky git in the Scots dictionary and it said "Two Carpets".
£250k a year price of no Rangers assuming tv revenue remains the same. How many more season ticket holders do we need to make that up then roughly 6-700?

Did I imagine or did Aberdeen and St.Johnston not say they where going to vote against a newco all the reports I am seeing are stating hibs are only the 3rd to say no.
That figure is only valid assuming there would be no replacement fans of the team that DID play those games.

Crown Office has instructed Strathclyde Police to launch a criminal investigation into takeover of Rangers in May 2011
IN FULL: Crown Office statement on criminal probe into Rangers
STV 25 June 2012 14:08 BST

A statement from the Crown Office said:
"The Crown Office has today instructed Strathclyde Police to conduct a criminal investigation into the acquisition of Rangers Football Club in May 2011 and the subsequent financial management of the Club.
"The investigation into alleged criminality follows a preliminary police examination of information passed to them in February this year by the Club administrators.
"The Procurator Fiscal for the West of Scotland will now work with Strathclyde Police to fully investigate the acquisition and financial management of Rangers Football Club and any related reports of alleged criminality during that process."
Looks like Club 12th of July are well and truly up to their knees in their own mess. As well as the complete lack of contrition, or any acceptance of blame, the delusion of their support is breath-taking. Two Rangers fans at my work, are telling me that they don't need to SPL. Now these are decent well educated sorts, and what they are telling me is that RFC will build back up through the leagues like a second X1 ,while at the same time, the current first team will operate like a Harlem Globetrotters franchise playing big bucks friendlies and of course entering and winning both cups. This is plan until the inevitable promotion back to the SPL or an " anticipated" invite to a bigger league.
Which SPL clubs have already come out and said no to the Newco in the SPL?
St Johnstone too as of today.Quote:

Thanks, I wasn't sure which clubs had definitely nailed their colours to the mast at this stage. It's going to be very difficult for Rangers to get the votes they need. Celtic might actually vote for them due to money, but their fan will pressure will probably be key to a no. Killie and Motherwell have thrown it open to the fans, so I'd imagine a no vote. Aberdeen will vote no.
If reports about Inverness & St.Johnston are correct then that's the magic 5 already!! Goodbye Rangers you ungracious cheats :bye:
Charles Green has already proved several times that he is either delusional or he operates in an alternative reality or parallel universe. At the back of his head, just under the hairline, is a zip. Pull the zip and his human skin comes off, revealing a large alien reptile with a diploma from the Del Boy School of Economics tucked under its scaly tail.
The man from Del Monte has said 'Yes'.

Do you think he can READ?
Or even chew gum and stand up at the same time?
These people - ALL of them - are in a frantic state of denial and self-contradiction because the gravy train they've travelled on for so much of their lives is now in grave danger (see what I did there?) of being derailed.
My guess is that there are lots and lots of squeaky bums all round Scottish football these days. If HMRC nail the Huns (and the word is that this is their dearest wish and firmest intention) do the Jambos really think the the guagers will then just walk away without nailing Romanov and HIS henchment at Tynie?
Or that all the other clubs that make up the SPL will, seriatim et privatim as my old Latin teacher used to say, come under the tax-man's microscope?
Or that Procurators Fiscal up and down the land are even now forming "football task-forces" to investigate the criminal allegations that may very well follow? Oiling the thumbscrews, charging up the car-batteries and polishing the electrodes and the crocodile clips, poring over their copies of "Ninety Years of Rubber Truncheons: Interrogation Procedures of the State Security Organs 1917-2007" for new and novel ways of getting the ****bags to talk.
Seriously, there'll be more than the Huns in pokey before this lot's over.
SSN reporting Aberdeen to vote no
Was difficult for Jim White to get his words out.
Peter Lawwell will be keeping his cards close to his chest and hoping for the vote being cancelled. He won't have made any friends among his own supporters if he doesn't declare how Celtic will/would have voted but I suspect deep down they will be pleased that their 'ties' with their twin ugly sister will remain slenderly intact.
The dandies go nap.

I'd say Milne's statement also goes further than other clubs so far - and very helpfully so:
"If readmission were to be refused, we believe the appropriate course of action would be for Rangers NewCo to apply for membership to the SFA and to submit an application for admission to the SFL."and
"Reorganisation of the game is a priority and is something we have been actively involved in for a long time, but it is not something that should be rushed through just to deal specifically with one club. As we have indicated there are a number of other areas that we feel need to be addressed openly in the coming period if Scottish football fans are to feel that their views have been properly taken into account."So that's a firm no to a SevCo parachute into SPL2/similar. :agree:
Think you're in danger of playing the man and not the ball. As BAD as Vlad is, he has always paid his taxes. Yes he might have been threatened with closure/winding up, but he's not 'walked away'. If he's guilty of anything it's wasting huge amounts of his own/his Banks/his Groups money. Not sure though quite what HMRC can do about this - HMFC are £30-40m in debt, but they've not cheated the taxpayer yet.
I'd agree that IF they are also guilty of dual payments/EBTs then that's a different story.
They're also guilty of distorting Scottish Football by operating at ridiculous debt levels - but that's his perogative I guess. The sooner Scottish Football adheres to UEFA Financial Fair Play the better.
Good riddance to the cheats. Enjoy the 3rd Division.
:lolrangers:
Indications are that they have though. Their accounts have carried a note that they were under investigation since 2007 and the last ones contained an admission that there was a liability but the Yams were disputing the amount (or quantum to use the proper term) due.

So, is it going to be Div 1 or Div 3?
A Newco should have to start from the bottom, but I think they'll try to cut a deal to be parachuted into Div 1
The BBC has the headline that "NEWco Gers wont get SPL votes" accompanied by a big phot of RP. Do you think he has encouraged the other chairman to vote No given the supposed influence he has in Scottish Football. I'd like to think so.
Aberdeen are saying no as are Motherwell .. looks like the charm offensive from Charlie Green was just plain Offensive

It is now inevitable that the Newco Rangers will not be voted into the SPL. A win for the SPL fans and for sporting integrity? Well a win yes but surely they can’t all stop there.First thing they should do is forget Rangers, or newco Rangers or The Rangers. They have made their decision and it will now be up to the SFL were they decide to place Rangers. The SPL can’t be seen to try and persuade the SFL in any way. They can’t demand that its division three or say ‘look SKY want them in division one’. As I say they need to forget them and start getting their own house in order. Then the SPL need to look at changing their voting system. They were forced into going for the 11-1 system by the big bullies, the Old Firm, who at the time held all the cards. Now the rest of the SPL, if they can come together can take some of that power back.Celtic have said they don’t need Rangers to survive. This is true but they might have to concede a lot of power and money to the rest of the SPL now they are exposed without their rivals. So say we have a new, fairer voting system of 8-4, then they should go to SKY and ESPN, as a united group and ask what deal is there on the table?Once a deal is signed, they then have to vote on how that deal shall be distributed. The previous deals saw the biggest chunks of money handed to the Old Firm, now with a fairer voting system and one that stands up for sporting integrity rather than business, the wealth has to be passed around in more equal way.For me, if I was involved at a higher level of any SPL club I would look at the job Neil Doncaster is doing and ask should he be there? He has changed his story a few times now, he has been guilty of scaremongering and seems to lack the necessary backing from his members. The speed of decision making has been scandalous and the buck should stop with him. Lets face it he doesn’t want to be here and if he had a chance he’d be working for an EPL side he would be there and would even jump at the chance of working in the Championship ahead of the SPL.Without the need for four Old Firm games a season and with the fans wanting change. The SPL has to look at working closely with the SFL and try and examine ways of expanding the league. For me I would have a top league of 16 teams, playing each other twice. No split, two teams go down and the third bottom side has a two game play-off with the third best side from division one. Also include a new winter break.Obviously they need to do there own research and come up with a league structure that will benefit Scottish football and excite fans.http://www.thefootyblog.net/wp-conte..._n-300x225.jpgThe new highly energised SPL should look very closely a safe standing areas, it works in places like the Netherlands and supporters want to see them introduced. Now these sides want to see an increase in attendances or at least not see numbers drop. So here is an idea, listen and consult with your fans, prove that this Newco decision isn’t a one off.Have a look at bringing back alcohol into the grounds. Maybe just in one stand, just until kick-off time and one drink per customer. Again research it and see what works for the police, the clubs and the fans. Now I have heard ‘sporting integrity’ and ‘fan power’ a lot during this newco debacle. You know what? The time is now for the SPL to prove that these things are important.Bring fans to the board. I know St Mirren and Motherwell are both well on the way in getting their clubs fan owned. In fairness to Dundee Utd they have a member on their board that comes from the fans trust. For me every side should have a member on the board elected by a fans group or trust. You want to get them more involved then prove it.This may be a tough time for Scottish football but if we want to bring the game back to being a sport first and a business second idea then make things equal, fair and transparent. Make the fans feel part of it, don’t see them as just customers. The times when the SPL clubs looked after themselves with poor short term thinking is over. For them to survive and to improve they need to start working better together and with the fans.
tell all the huns ye know, that its 5-1 to no to newco!
To me the far bigger issue is the criminal investigation into the sale of Rangers from Murray to Whyte. That could throw a major spanner in the works. Something tells that the Huns might not be playing in any division next year.
sorry if already posted earlier
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...-west-18582965
A criminal investigation is to be launched into Craig Whyte's takeover of Rangers Football Club in May last year.
The Crown Office asked Strathclyde Police to probe the purchase and the club's subsequent financial management.
The investigation into alleged criminality follows a preliminary examination of information passed to police by administrators
why no start your own rangers in administration forum. prob get plenty of interest from kid on hibs fans
So looks like 4th July is a forgone conclusion - which was only the correct decsision. :agree:
When is the vote to try and admit them into the SFL how does that vote work? Do all SFL teams vote?
Will be interesting to see if Celtic, Motherwell, Killie, Ross County and St Mirren make any statements in the near future about how they plan to vote...
I wonder when the BBC are going to stop putting Rangers news on the Scottish Premier home page. :aok:
See here atween cairn and cairt.
'mon the cabbitch! :flag:
What are the SFL voting rules for admittance of the Newco?
Can Rangers just approach each division individually?
