Well, it was a close run thing right through the day but the quality of Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks D shutting down Frank Gore saw me through.
I am absolutely delighted to have proven my credentials as the foremost authority on American football on the site :duck::greengrin

I had a good time doing this last year and hoping to get another one going for the 2013 season. Two things need to be looked at though, 1 is the draft and another is league expansion. What are peoples thoughts on this?

the only reason league expension is being looked at is because StevesFamau5 wanted to take part but couldnt as we needed an even number of players. I've just checked NFL.com and you can set up a list of players in the order you want to draft and if you can't do it, or have to leave half way through, then it will pick the highest available player from your list. I'm sure that would be do-able from my point of view.Quote:

There's a couple of posters on the nfl thread who we should ask to join, DarrenSqh, StevesFamous5, Houchy, are names I've seen, the draft process wasn't too bad I thought, it was completed a few weeks before the season actually started, so if time is the main issue in regards getting everyone online @ the same time, no reason why not do the same or pre set your picks automatically? Either way I'm winning it this year :)

I'm in again to defend my 8th place finish! Not too fussed about draft order - it would be good if the waiver wire could be set a bit more fairly though so that the person picking last gets first shot at free agents.
I'm in and I would prefer a live draft. It was torture last year. I'm in a different time zone so I would do what I need to do to make scheduling easier. I don't necessarily know what I am doing but I would still rather pick my own players.
Random draw for selection order - no snake format i.e., 1 thru 10, 1 thru 10, repeat.
League expansion sounds like a good idea.
I don't really see what's so bad about last year's draft. Sure, it took a wee while to say the least but it was completed in plenty time for the season and it's irrefutable that everyone actually got who they wanted at any given pick. I'm not very keen on the idea of a computer generated draft, even with preferred pick lists; and given that I work most evenings I'm not too sure about being able to make a live draft.
I agree. It took awhile (two weeks wasn't it?:greengrin) but it worked. and it's not as if we're in a hurry with 4 months still to go till September. If we can agree a time when we all aim to be online this time it might speed it up a bit.Quote:

2 new teams have joined the League this year (lochhibs has the Cabbage and Redskins and H18sry has Finsagogo) and its time we started looking to get things started. The Draft order will be decided by guessing the attendance of the Europa League game Versus Malmo at Easter Road. As with last year the person with the closest guess will get 1st pick and the person furthest away will be last. It will be an offline draft (just like last year) a live draft would have been awsome but the logistics of that made it very difficult to organise.
