The thread from that time has only one mention of Ryan Porteous on it.. and that mention is to point out how well Paul McGinn has done considering he has Porteous playing inside him.
There’s also these threads from the end of that season, it’s hardly gushing with praise with an almost unanimous feeling that he shouldn’t have been starting in the biggest game of the season such were his performance levels.

Josh Doig was also part of that defence and won our YPOTY and YPOTY for the whole league, an award that Porteous was eligible for.
Ryan Porteous was part of a very good defence that year. That’s all he was though, a part, along with numerous others, a good few of which had better seasons. Claiming he was the main man, completely ignoring Doig when listing who he played alongside and claiming Hanlon, who was better than him and was playing so well he got called up for his first full Scotland cap during the season was an “ageing” centre half as if he was carrying him along absolutely is revisionism.
