Maybe I missed something, but what multiple settings are open?

FT reporting that schools in England could be closed till Feb half term
Police Scotland 10 minutes ago;
Our Chief Constable Iain Livingstone has issued a statement following the announcement of the latest #COVID19 restrictions:
"I fully recognise the impact these further restrictions will have on people’s lives.
“However, it is clear that the significant sacrifices being made by people across Scotland are vital to help suppress the spread of coronavirus.
“Our approach throughout the pandemic has not changed. Police Scotland officers will continue to support people to follow the regulations and encourage them to take personal responsibility.
“People should not leave their homes unless for essential purposes. The best way to stay safe is to stay at home.
“Officers and staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout the pandemic to keep people safe and our visible presence will be increased over the coming days and weeks.
“We will have increased patrols in our communities to explain the regulations and to encourage people to do the right thing. Where officers encounter wilful breaches they will act decisively to enforce the law.
“The vast majority of people have stepped up to take responsibility and our determination and collective effort to tackle this virus must now continue in the difficult times ahead.”
That's all outdoors where risks will be much lower than a pretty crowded classroom where ventilation could be really hard to maintain on a cold winter's day for 6 hours.
I do agree that allowing them to mix in larger numbers doesn't make a lot of sense, I just think they must be more comfortable with the data for that age set as opposed to the data for older kids.
I'd be pissed off if I was a worker in a zoo or place like Dalkeith County Park. Is it serious or not and is that essential. Security guards and cleaners have highest rate of deaths from this and both needed in these settings. Also 15 under 12 and 2 adults allowed for kids sports, mental
Surely Boris isn't going to announce school closures tonight after his last 24 hours?

There will also be additional measures in relation to businesses, in addition to the tightening of the essential retail definition that took effect from Boxing Day.
The current 1 metre exemption for workplace canteens will end – so canteens will have to ensure that employees sit 2 metres or more apart, rather than 1 metre.
The number of non-essential services which remain open will be further restricted.
Premises which will need to close as a result of these changes will include, for example ski centres, showrooms of larger retailers, and clinics offering cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
Perhaps the Union rep in me wanting to defend someone who isn't here to defend themselves and all those others you have deemed to be chancers. I've heard bosses call workers chancers a few times without taking into account what difficulties they have and many of those difficulties are covered by legislation. The advice to see the GP made sense and is fair as was the person returning to work after receiving that advice.
Nothing personal for me just seemed pretty insensitive to suggest there were chancers everywhere given the discussion was about shielding that is in place to potentially save a workers life.
Number of different households travelling to the school.
Pupils themselves, parents/ carers who take them, teachers and other essential staff needed to keep the school going.
Doesn’t matter how controlled it is, there will be loads of contacts.
To stop the spread of the virus, you cut down the number of contacts.
Kids meeting outside the school will have nowhere near the number of contacts that they would have if schools are open.
It is rubbish and will impact on kid’s education, frustrate parents but will slow the spread of the virus.

I thought this was another odd exemption, 7 adults can all meet up if they are with young kids.
“Unregulated activities for parents and children under 5 such as baby and toddler groups that take place outdoors are permitted. They are limited to a maximum of 7 adults and unlimited under 5s.”
I know where you are coming from in general but shielding is such a sensitive and personal thing that I would expect workers to err on the side of caution and bosses to understand it will be a very worrying time for some particularly those who may have hidden illnesses. I'll leave it that as there are more important discussions on this thread and this is a bit specific in the grand scheme of things.
No, my son works in McDonalds and they were closed for weeks. He is at work today and hasn't heard anything about them closing. There doesn't appear to be major changes from Level 4 in terms of workplaces barring the change of emphasis to "must" work from home if you can
