That's all outdoors where risks will be much lower than a pretty crowded classroom where ventilation could be really hard to maintain on a cold winter's day for 6 hours.Quote:

Perhaps the Union rep in me wanting to defend someone who isn't here to defend themselves and all those others you have deemed to be chancers. I've heard bosses call workers chancers a few times without taking into account what difficulties they have and many of those difficulties are covered by legislation. To stop the spread of the virus, you cut down the number of contacts.
Kids meeting outside the school will have nowhere near the number of contacts that they would have if schools are open.
It is rubbish and will impact on kid’s education, frustrate parents but will slow the spread of the virus.

I know where you are coming from in general but shielding is such a sensitive and personal thing that I would expect workers to err on the side of caution and bosses to understand it will be a very worrying time for some particularly those who may have hidden illnesses.
