London Hibs November 2001 Newsletter

London Calling..........!!!

(The Official Newsletter of The London Hibs Supporters Club)

London Hibs Members and Friends

11th November 2001

Attendance: 11

First sighting in a while of Iain Tully and Grant Ramsey and first meeting for Kenny Miller a new member.

Apologies:

Rose, Alex Lindsay, Mike Inglis and Brian Rogan

Brian Rogan:

Andrew reported why Brian our intrepid chairman was absent last night as he has just come out of hospital after suffering an h…., he…, hea.., hear.., sorry cardiac attack. Andrew said Brian asked him not to use THAT word. He is home now, recovering and is reasonably comfortable. When Andrew saw him last weekend he said he was on serious medication and had to take seven YES SEVEN pills a day. How he loves that word. Brian suggested our competition

"Guess where the chairman is this week?" is postponed until next year.

We all pass on our best wishes to Brian and hope to see him soon.

POTY:

Due to poor ticket sales and the uncertainty of Frank and players attending, we decided to postpone the event for the short term. It was hoped to arrange something in the spring. All ticket sales will be refunded. It was hoped we could use our deposit with Hibs to either obtain a hospitality package for use as a prize in the Burns Night Raffle or to be offset against our next event at Easter Road.

BURNS NIGHT

The chosen venue is the Newmarket Tavern, York Way, London. Tony and Alex are organising the event. Tony confirmed the date was to be 19th January and we already have confirmation that Jackie Macnamara will be one of our special guests. Tickets will be £12 and this covers a haggis, tatties and neeps dinner, a live band for dancing, whisky toast and a late licence to 6 YES SIX a.m.

Details will be posted out as soon as possible.

MEMBERSHIP

There are now 100 paid up members, however, there are still some members who have not paid their subs. If you are one of them then please do so as soon as possible.

FOOTBALL TEAM

Unfortunately David Drysdale was not present but Andrew stated he had been to some of the last few matches. Both were against Rangers winning one and losing one. In the last match in the APFSCIL Cup London Hibs were superb with a 5-1 win.

MERCHANDISE

Attached is a copy of our latest merchandise list. Mike Prior said it was not too late for those last minute Hibby Christmas presents.

Next meeting will be Tuesday 11th December.
