LONDON HIBS MEMBERS CELEBRATE 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIBS

(Photos will appear later)

Between the 4th and the 6th of August 2000, 3 London Hibs fans, Andy Bell, Tony Gledhill and Scott Miller visited the birthplace of Canon Hannan, founder of Hibernian FC.

Thomas Burke, the grand nephew of Canon Thomas Hannan, still lives in Ballingarry, Co. Limerick, the home village of our founder. His grandmother (Hannan) was the sister of Canon Hannan. She married a grocer and publican in the town and up until the 1990s the pub was still in the familys hands. Even now its called Bennetts Bar and is home to the local football club.

The Burke family will be invited to London Hibs Burns Night in January 2001 as guests of honour.

The 125th Anniversary of Hibs founding was on 6th August 2000 and 25th December is the 125th Anniversary of the first game, a 1-0 away win. The Boxing Day fixture this year will hopefully replicate this result!
