London
Hibs would like to congratulate Hibs for the performance of every single
member of the team on Thursday night - oh so close!. I'm sure I speak for all
London Hibbies that were at the AEK game (or listening on the web) when
I say that the boys did us proud. I was "ouzo-ing" with
pride.
The day started for
Andrew Murray and myself (Mike Inglis) having to endure exorbitant bar
prices at Luton Airport while we waited for our delayed flight to
Edinburgh. As each further delay was announced another round was bought
- also, contingency plans were made to hop on a train down to London to
watch the game at the Cafe Corfu in Camden (photos of this event to
follow). Fortunately this wasn't necessary!

4 a pint!
Easyjet were
up to their usual tricks and eventually a chartered Boeing 737 from
Icelandic airline "Sunbird" arrived from Manchester to take us
to Embra. We were airborne at 5.40pm and found ourselves sitting next to
a Hibby who bought us a drink - cheers!
We legged it
through the arrivals hall at about 6.50pm, were met by Andrew's brother
who negotiated the Edinburgh traffic skillfully (see below)
and we
arrived at the ground only 5 minutes after kick off.
THE
GAME What
a roller coaster of emotions we went through during the game. It's all
been said on other websites, but for atmosphere, I don't think I've
experienced better. The team did us proud and gave us the appetite for
more - next year please!
The AEK fans, in the south
stand, were vociferous, if somewhat controversial, in their support

Craig Williamson and most of
the Smith family show their appreciation at the final whistle

Embarrassing
- a proud Mike Inglis underneath the London Hibs flag
