The
immediacy, the impact is gone writing this report three weeks after the
event. However this was a powerful victory. Norwich went into a
well-deserved early lead when their pacey forward left our centre back
floundering easily slotting passed a despairing Leslie.
Another
in a similar vain then followed this, a flat back four exposed to pace
resulting in another goal. Two down and the league all but conceded to
Rangers, but wait a minute we were in a position to win the league because
we were a skilful resilient side and so it showed, with the ball being swung
in from the right for Russell to head home and make it 1-2 at Half time.
Half
Time: 1-2
Second
half team talk seemed to do the trick, basic question do you want to finish
this season with nothing to show for it and of course the small matter of a
London Hibs final position to play for.
Out
we came ripping them apart, the challenges from Leon particularly inspiring
on their rather angry left back. Russell had been subbed due to him twisting
and turning beyond his bodys ability to respond. James Allen came on. 10
Minutes in was perhaps the most amazing substitution of the season. Yes
Bambi; prancer; Hardy playing up front.
Very
quickly we were tearing in them with a cross from the right again being met
by Jason Steer making it two each. From this point onward the waves of
attacking play were thwarted by a combination of some slack passing and
tremendous keeping from the Norwich guvnor.
The
increasing desperation of this Norwich side resulted in a free kick outside
the box committed incidentally by the left back that was getting a large
does of physical stick from Leon and physical stick from me.
The
languid Pomaro stepped up and with the keeper slightly off his line or
narrowing his angles J
Adsyp sweeping the ball goal ward with drive and float descending
irreversibly into the goal and concluding the best league campaign of London
Hibs ever.
Match View
We
showed we could fight in this game and that we wanted victory more than
them. Though boy did they try, perhaps Ill shut up next season because
although the wind up works on some players on others it makes them play
beyond themselves.
Aidan
gets man of the match being involved in all three goals to some extent, his
powerful running epitomized our intent. Well done Aido.
