They don’t all follow the club everywhere mate. Some do but a lot don’t - it’s just a convenient tax they pay.
For the many not the few.
They still need a season ticket to be in hibs first

Only ballots were when we came back from Covid and had 2 or 3 games with restricted attendance.
I got a ticket each time. I like the ballot idea!

You need a season ticket to be in the masses of the ticketmaster free for all.

That's unfortunate you can't go but I'm lucky as I can always make games no matter when or location
Thats it though mate, as has been mentioned many times on this thread everyone is in a certain bracket and no matter the solution there are going to be hibs fans disappointed.

Is Hibs First sold out? Would it even need a ballot?

Loyalty points would cater for a lot more of the support, than the current farce.
A proper CEO will realise this, no be long til we get one! Down with Tory Ben and his Tory schemes.

I followed the club for many years, season ticket n all, I struggle to attend games nowadays due mostly to work commitments so by your token I should not have gotten a ticket for Tiny ?
Pretty much as I did. I'm not expecting a ticket for the game though.

Paying for priority is a Tory mindset IMO. Not calling fellow Hibbys tories.
Priority should be for those who attend the most Hibs games, not those with the most disposable cash 👍
Don't disagree with your point about Hibs First (in fact I agree entirely). But I find this a bit of a contradiction here and one of the main reasons why I've not been able to get on board with the loyalty system idea.

Hibs end 50% full today. No problem for Hibs to solve going by that.

By far the worst away game in the league. Have no intention of going back there.

Don’t disagree. However there’s only one match that instantly sells out and that’s Tynecastle once or twice a season. Doesn’t suggest we need to overhaul the current system.

Hibs First is an awful, divisive scheme. Inherently Tory. Implemented by tory Ben.
I'm as leftist as they come and that is one of the wildest takes I have ever seen on here.

Can you explain what the current scheme prevents you from doing in terms of going to a Hibs match? Have you ever even been placed in a queue for a ticket bar Tynecastle is once or twice a season?

Some wild takes here. I run a bus to away games, have a hardcore who travel everywhere we go. I go to friendlies abroad, my personal choice, as I love the club. People moaning about this does my head in, should be loyalty points, for the benefit of those who actually attend away fixtures. I think ive more than earned tickets for fixtures.
How many Hibs books have you read?

I don’t think anyone is moaning about that?
How many games have you missed out on tickets for and who is complaining that you’ve got tickets? I think it’s brilliant you get tickets for the games, I genuinely do.
You love doing it and you’re able to and that’s a brilliant thing.
Nobody, from what I’ve read on this thread, is wanting to stop you doing that. Far from it.
As Chuck Rhoades said on the thread, it’s only Tiny that presents an issue and there’s no value in having a scheme for one or two games a season to keep those who like to have a pissing contest about who’s the best fan happy when the Hibs First scheme sorts them out and, when it all comes down to it, they’d be getting tickets for the derby anyway as they have done whether there’s been a scheme in place or not.

Why would you? Better to leave it so folk can see who’s really making a mockery of other loyal fans on the thread.

The current setup, and biannual scramble, decreases the chances of regular away attendees, who aren’t on the Hibs First scheme - getting a derby ticket. This won’t be an insignificant number of folk.
Equally, I’d wager that there is a decent % of Hibs First who are purely on it for Tynecastle tickets.
Think it’s clear the strongest advocates of Hibs first are exactly these folk. The guys and girls who travel regularly would obviously be catered for by loyalty points (and also £50 better off per annum too!!)
Paying for priority is just fundamentally not a principle I agree with, particularly something as emotive and habitual as football.
And aye, I was in a Q for Lucerne away. Fortunate enough on that occasion to get a ticket in the initial allocation. One of my pals who was there in Switzerland with us, was unable to get a ticket for Villa away. I know of 4 people who went to Villa with Hibs First, who never really leave Edinburgh to follow the team usually. That’s no right, is it?
Terrible scheme from a worse than terrible CEO.

Edit - dropping out of this now, point has been made and no point dragging what has been a mostly respectful and constructive thread off track with this pish. Apologies to the admins for it.

I think this thread has run it's course now.
Mostly a constructive conversation with some interesting arguments made on both sides but it's only going to go one way 10 pages in so let's call it a day.
Thread closed.
