Good signing from Hibs getting a young, highly rated player on the books. We've signed Dundee and Aberdeen's best players given people's opinions of them.

Mulligan picking Hibs when he probably could have had the pick of three or four club is a statement from him too, putting faith in a manager who seems to have the touch in improving players.

Always said there would be context behind the decision - the player wanted to go Rangers and Hibs didn’t need/want him because we’ve been going after Mulligan.

He was never coming to Hibs. Wages would be to high.

Given some of the conditions applied when the Black Nights bought into Hibs, seemingly insisting that some portion should go toward the training academy for example, maybe some other details, will Bloom be expected to fit in with the same conditions re-his investment in Hearts?

No, because they’ve pretended they’re not going to be part of a multi-ownership model rather than just being transparent.

The SFA conditions that were published to approve the investment did not include anything like this. The 2 conditions were to not exceed 29.99% and that the agreement shouldn’t preclude us from qualifying for Europe.

Mulligan is a good signing if it comes off, but the compensation could be steep, I would imagine Dundee will be looking for a decent wedge to stop it going to the SFA tribunal.

The SFA conditions that were published to approve the investment did not include anything like this. The 2 conditions were to not exceed 29.99% and that the agreement shouldn’t preclude us from qualifying for Europe.

In meetings with the SFA prior to receiving special dispensation, the club had to present detailed plans on how any money would be used and how the partnership would positively benefit Scottish football and the community.

This is a direct quote from the SFA’s statement:

“This approval has been granted subject to written undertakings, signed by the club, which among other commitments ensure:

Shareholding from the interested party, Black Knight Football and Entertainment [BKFE], does not exceed 29.99%.
That the agreement with the interested party does not preclude the club from participating in any UEFA competition it qualifies for due to BKFE’s interest in any other clubs.”

The two commitments listed are not an exhaustive list - people involved in the process have said that the club had to make commitments to the SFA that the Scottish football and the community would see benefits from it. The changes to HTC are part of that commitment we made.

Think this was one of the reasons they bought in to the Portuguese club, to attract players from that region

Have we ever had a Brazilian?....

My dad's Brasilian and watched the famous 5 in the 50s. My cousin visited from Brasil in 1987. I took him to Hibs vs Hearts when we ended the run. Stood in the East Stand. He said Hibs were more mental than Brasilian fans.

Bournemouth have recently posted a 5 part documentary on their Youtube channel called The Pathway about their academy. Some of the players featured may find themselves up here on loan at some point in the future so may be of interest to people.
