In MW’s defence, he’s doing nothing more than arguing the point, which is sort of how these things work.
There’s an art to making your point over a handful of posts though, and not a small number of posters making the same points and counter points endlessly over a handful of pages. It’s the volume of posts that gets draining rather than each post in isolation IMO.

:agree:
It’s always telling that the folk who get all worked up about this sort of thing only get worked up about the fact that the poster they disagree with is making these posts.
Funnily enough, nobody has got themselves all worked up about repeated posts making the same points (of which there are just as many) from the posters they agree with.
It’s not the volume of posts etc, as they would have you believe or else they’d be taking both sides of the argument to task. It’s that they don’t like reading an opinion they don’t agree with.
It’s been a fairly grown up discussion until you get folk having personal digs at other posters/bragging about the fact they put folk on ignore etc.

Remember this poster was banned off the forum for a couple of months for arguing and getting personal, not learnt his lesson yet obviously. Like a dog with a bone and won't stop badgering until you either put on ignore, or just stop interacting.
I'd rather read his posts than yours. All you ever do is criticise other posters and try and shut down debates. It's a football forum if you can't accept views differing from your own then do something else with your time.

The thread was going fine with good inputs from posters with opposing opinions. It started going wayward once yourself and others started making comments about individual posters rather than the subject matter, playing the man rather than the ball as they say.
This below is a personal dig which was unnecessary, perhaps take your own advice and ignore in future.
Well said

Agreed.
There are certain posters on here who are incapable of making their point (positive or negative) without repeating it ad nauseam to everyone who then disagrees with them. It's like reading a hundred private messages rather than a public message board.

He was poor last season and the one prior. Ive only seen highlights from Saturday so I didn't base anything on that.
Nice try though. Enjoy the second half. I'm sure you'll think of me every time Josh makes a pass.

Posters on here if they dislike a player they let everyone know it. We have had the Hanlon Haters, Newell Haters, wish some people would watch the game and watch what players do. There have been games where Campbell has been outstanding but reading some of the posts on here he makes one bad pass and is vilified. Get behind players in the team.

Josh being poor at passing for the most part and him improving by the looks of it this season doesn't mean he's always been a great passer.
He can play good passes, but he's often too inconsistent with it. It's good to see he's been working on those things and looking a lot better on the ball so far. If Josh could tidy up his passing he'd be a brilliant player for us.

He is a developing player with strengths and weaknesses to his game which he has been improving on season on season - the "poorness" is in your subjective POV that evidently places the weaknesses above the strengths in terms of significance. Fair enough we are all entitled to a POV but your assessment of "poor" requires considerable mental gymnastics to take on board, considering the strengths column has included a happy knack of scoring goals in the seasons to which you refer - the hardest bit as many a footballing sage would attest.

Whether you are a fan of Josh Campbell or not, I think we all might have to get used to the idea that he is going to be a regular starter in David Gray’s team.
An excellent performance from him tonight and will be one who continues to improves with age and experience.

Josh Campbell provides a vast number of goals from midfield and in the last few seasons has been a vital player who would play anywhere for us, rarely plays less than a 7/10

Should exactly why he’s in our squad. That’s all that matters. Fans just need to get behind players. Especially when they’d clearly run through a brick wall for our team.

I was specifically speaking about his passing in these seasons. His play was okay, quite average and unremarkable really.
I'm delighted he looks better this season. Must keep it up.

Correct he played 19 games last season and before he got that injury he was carrying a shoulder injury that was bothersome I’m sure. Shows his willingness to play in a hibs shirt, we’ve a couple I’d seriously doubt have that same desire.
Hopefully Mackay and gray know who they are and are able to shift them on.

Very good performance from Josh. I wish the haters could just accept him for what he is, a good player who'll have some bad moments in game. I would rather have him in my team than Youan, who is an exceptionally talented player but loses the ball far too easily.

Agree with that
There are 2 sides to the game (attack/defence or in possession/out) and credit to SDG he had a starting xi last night that was all doing both sides of the game.
We looked like a team (or an XI) that you'd have to work very hard to score against, and we had goals going forward.
Campbell was a big part of that.
Our old frailties appeared with the appearamce of Youan, Rocky & Levitt (great goal but suddenly the opposition looked like they could hurt us / score too)
That starting XI was very well balanced & credit to Josh for the work rate & the high quality assists, top marks

There's a massive difference between the needless scapegoating of our players you sometimes see on here (calling them an imposter or wage thief after one bad game etc.) and having discussions about their weaknesses.
Would you rather we all just pretend that every one in the squad is the perfect footballer with no down sides to their game?
I stick up for Newell all the time on here but will happily admit that he's slow, generally very poor at shooting and makes silly fouls too often.

Josh’s goal involvement last night was top notch.
Having watched the media stuff coming out of the Netherlands it strikes me as if Josh knows he has a manager who believes in him, that will give him and extra 5% on the park for me.
His fitness in particular will be key when we are not in possession.

The three assists from Josh were excellent last night. As someone has said Scotty Allan-esque.
He also stupidly gave the ball away on a few occasions. That's just him.
The real test to see if he has progressed this season will be when we come up against proper teams where silly mistakes in that area of the pitch can cost goals.
In the meantime, let's just enjoy the fast free flowing football we have produced the last few games.

Scott Allan also gave the ball away numerous times, in fact at the end of his first stint with us people on here criticised Scotty for passing the ball to where he thought our attacking players should be, not where they were all too often.
I hold Josh in very high regard and think he might be our POTY this season.
