Typical Hibs. Great performance and result but way too little too late for this season.

Ach well, bring on next season, just want this one to be over.

How many late goals do we lose
Loads and it’s something we have been working on to try and avoid
Lots of changes made so often disrupts the flow of the game but bit disappointing to concede another
Think Mo ty said we have lost 12 points from late goals this season

He’s a good finisher but needs the service and to be played in right areas.

That goalie's going to keep St Johnstone in the SPFL because the rest of that team are *****. Yes, we should have scored a lot more against them, still a comfortable win away from home though.

It will be a full strength team until relegation is impossible.
It should be a full strength team for every game. Youngsters will get in the team when they show that they are good enough. Results are everything, always have been.

Happy for Hanlon getting a goal and also a nice finish from Vente.

Thought we'd probably lose today so that's a pleasantly surprising result and it sounds like we played well. Would have been easy for the players just to go through the motions with so little to play for, so the fact they were fired up maybe shows they're wanting to keep Monty in a job.

Said earlier on in the week I thought we'd win comfortably today. Let's be honest, should have been about five or six. Think I'm pissed off more than anything else about it. Why could we have not performed like that when it mattered?

Realise this is a bit rich after telling a poster yesterday 'all we can do is move on'.

Great display today though. I had Hibs HT, Maolida any time and Boyle any time for £115. No idea how that's not come in.

Great result but it’s typical Hibs, we never win when there’s something worthwhile on the line! Slight exaggeration I know but that’s how it feels.

Seasons over! It’s been a disaster and no amount of points from now until the end of the season can hide that fact!

Yup. One of the better games this season. Positive atmosphere in our support, team on top throughout.

Wasn't looking forward to Dingwall but feeling a bit more encouraged. Applied themselves today well.

Weird being there with the home support getting feisty - they're always so inhibited and quiet. Their booing was a bit of a new thing - they obviously don't like CL as much as the media mafia do.

Those who enjoyed the win are no doubt doing so and are active on here. Spot on. Good win and performance.

It's quieter cause quite a large percentage of our support feel let down and have chucked the season. Not going to call them out for that and think folk trying to point score about a bottom six win is a bit weird.

Played well today and good to win but not really bothered about these dead rubber games.

Adding to the too little too late feel was the walking the ball to the corners to run down the clock, showing a bit of game management - just what we were crying out for before and doing it in not just a meaningless game but one that wasn't in any danger.

Ah well, better to win than not and well done players for their efforts. Just want the season over now.

My mate supports St Johnstone and he thinks they'd have been relegated if it wasn't for him. Probably being a bit dramatic though as he rates him.

Though any time I've seen Mitov, against us and a few games against the uglies on Sky Sports he's been class.

He certainly looked the part in the games against us . Read he was player of the year at his previous club Cambridge united in 2022 . He also gained attention for his performance in their 1-0 over Newcastle United too .

If we are looking for a keeper he might not be a bad option.

Haven`t read whole thread but really enjoyed the game today . Think the whole team played well and showed that the season hasn`t finished yet . At times some of our build up play was great to watch though goals didn`t come from great moves . A few comments here before match asking why we didn`t give young players a chance . Molotnikov , Hamilton , McIntyre ( maybe x 2 ) , McAllister , Zaid , Blaney ... all played some minutes for teams in lower divisions today and will probably do so again next week . Will then probably be available for us in last 3 games as well as remaining Under 18 league matches . Not sure which young player could have been given a chance today - maybe Whittaker who doesn`t seem to be on loan at any other club . If Wallacott is staying with us next season , maybe he`ll get a chance likewise other goalies we have .

He was starting to pick up a fair bit prior to his injury too.

Looks like he struggled badly doing a strange job in the 442… and has thrived in a better team with better players playing 451?

Hopefully he keeps up the good work and wants to stick around for next year, a year older, wiser and more experienced.

It’s almost as if it might not be easy to go and play in a new country at a higher level, and that it might take a short while to settle?

Where does Vente play in a 451? He's not a great deal of strength , he's no real pace and he doesn't have the feet to beat his man.

He's a penalty box striker, but he gets lost when he's up top alone, and that's likely why we persisted with 442 for so long. We don't have a focal point up top.

We need better quality players. It’s time to lose most of our old guard and bring I. some new faces along with a new manager.

NM doesn’t fill me with any hope that he can build a team worthy of watching. I also don’t think our support will give him the time required. He needs to go I’m afraid.

A good win but doesn’t paper over the cracks the damage was done in the meaningful games

We could win the remaining 4 games now and I’d still feel very uneasy at Monty at the helm

Players weren’t delivering when the pressure was on for Monty. I’m not sure come August why they would start doing it then.

One bad run of form and fan pressure would demand he goes that’s why I think we get rid now and give the new coach a whole window / preseason

It’s inevitable Monty will get sacked just a case of now or October.

When we get 451 wrong, we do it by getting the main striker too isolated - it then requires the striker to have the appropriate skill set to do it all on his own - in which case, I take your point that Vente’s not so well suited to that.

Done properly though - he’s much closer linked to the wide forwards with an attacking midfielder playing just off him and playing balls through for him.

Basically, compared to before - I think he gets goals if he stays forward and is ineffective if he spends to much time dropping back deep or has no support.

I've seen nothing tactically from Monty that suggests he's a good manager, Infact I've seen the opposite he's chucked games that's led to us finishing bottom 6, changing centre half's for weeks on the bounce midway through games for example, added to that he comes across monotone and boring, I just can't take to him tbh. Even if we win the next 4 games which we won't I'll still be uneasy going into next season with him in charge. He has a near impossible job to turn it round imo, we would need to start next season with a bang, winning the first big game that comes round.

Our support yesterday showed the apathy this manager has created. People have better things to do than watch Hibs in the bottom six. If we'd beaten St Johnstone at home when it mattered it would have meant something. Yesterday barely even registered.

First game I’ve missed all season, was scunnered after Motherwell. From the highlights it looked like a decent performance for those that made the effort. Biggest issue these players have, IMO, is their mentality. Always easier to play once the pressure was off so wasn’t surprised that we look to have played well, I think we’ll win most games between now and the end of the season.

We've been going along much the same way for along time now . LJ , Maloney, Ross , Lennon .

I don't know if I'd say he's made things worse , they certainly haven't improved I'll grant you that though how are we meant too if we don't give anyone enough time to turn things around with a squad that's been failing for years? .

I just don't think everything is the managers fault , some of it yes but not it all .

Barely even registered? Behave.

You’re replying to someone who doesn’t go to games anyway. Of course it barely even registered for them

Certainly registered with half the main stand yesterday. Weirdos commenting on fans going to games.

How many made the trip? Monty made a point of thanking them and implied quite big numbers travelled.

We had a section of the main stand and the whole of behind the goal. Would say we sold about half of all tickets available.

Will you remember our bottom six win over St Johnstone in 6 months time?

I’ll no remember the curry I had last night, in 6 months time. It was still the best meal I’ve had in weeks and worth paying for though.

I don't hate Hertz as much as some of our own hate Hibs.

This almost comes across as a positive post from you.

If it was a top six win against st Mirren or Dundee it would be remembered in the same way.
