Mind there were folk who thought that VAR would eliminate OF referee bias? Was always going to be an absolute disaster, but actually been even worse than that.

I genuinely thought it would act as a bit of a restraint on some of the more ridiculous calls. But selecting the VAR team from the exact same group of people who officiate matches doesn't change a thing. The culture is going to be exactly the same (both the bias and the overall poor level of refereeing). Plus they are far less likely to embarass their mates by challenging iffy decisions.

Maybe the rules need to change so that, for all of Europe, officials from different Football Associations are on VAR duty.

It was a great ball in but Fish is slower to react and is caught the wrong side of the ball and man. Dessers done the basics and it couldn't have been any easier. If he lost the goal but was more alert and positioned better than I'd have less of an issue with it.

That's the one. Not sure Youan deserved to be taken off but arguably the only choice if you're bringing on Boyle.

This Jair sub though still has me scratching my head. Really hope he does something but he offers nothing other than making us weaker.
