Derek Mcinnes time

Old school, experienced of the league

Had enough of the projects

Johnson, Maloney, Monty

All massive flops, all one thing in common no experience managing in spfl

Simply put

Loads on here are obsessed with Hearts. Naismith is a project manager no?

Get back to a 352, the personnel we have dictates that formation

Not trying to pick a fight but we don’t have any good centre halves and who would you pick for right wing-back of the currently available players?

Cadden, Boyler he’s back next week , along with Miller, Rory, Megwa can also play right wing back, they done it with the reserves. We now have 5 centre backs once rocky is back, so on paper it can be done.

Yep, but not with NM.

We need to be patient with Cadds. His injury is one that few players completely recover from. You can actually see the impact of the injury on his lower legs - one way smaller muscle than the other. It will be a patient road we need to take.

Regardless of his rawness and lack of technique, Miller will likely need to be first choice until a point where Cadds is in a strong physical position. Let’s hope his athleticism compensates enough.

I’ve come to the conclusion it’s not the manager or the players or the formation. It’s the club. We’re soft as **** and that permeates throughout the club. Just a nice, friendly, accommodating club with not one single ounce of nastiness in it.

Genuinely can’t remember the last time we roughed a team up and were clever, streetwise and nasty.

Aside from trouncing an absolutely hapless Aberdeen, I can’t even remember the last time we had a brilliant performance (Luzern maybe).

The mentality and culture of this whole club is rank rotten and if it takes a few ruthless, hard-nosed Yanks to make some very bold and tough decisions then I’m all aboard that ship.

There is loads to blame Montgomery for but a complete lack of desire to compete from the players isn’t on him. There are some players in there that I’d happily never see again. They don’t give a ****.

A huge percentage of players' lack of desire is the manager's fault. He needs to know those he's able to motivate and play them. If he's unable to motivate certain players, he shouldn't pick them until this situation changes.

Referees don't let Hibs get away with it. In recent times, the only player who did getaway with it to some degree was Darren McGregor. Maybe Davie Gray a little too.

We have all witnessed his tactics. In essence it starts with the same formation, with the odd tweak, normally when we are behind.

Going forward I really can't see it getting any better. Montgomery looked broken post match and the players demoralised. He has a squad that now reads like the cast list of a 1970's adult film. Even if he stays we are in for another major overhaul in the summer, which is an absolute disgrace and total failure of everyone involved at Hibs.

I'm expecting we will get beat next week at Inverness, then he will be sacked and there will be no more threads about him.

No having that. I get that some managers will get more out of players than others. But they’re professional players an applying yourself properly is the absolute minimum requirement. We had players on the park today not trying. That’s on them and nobody else

We haven't played a 4-4-2 for weeks.

Interesting

We came back from dubai playing it

And from what I saw first half today we had a midfield two of Levitt (!?) And Newell, getting outnumbered as per.

The wide boys were getting ghosted past by the St Mirren wide lads. And there's our problems in a nutshell.

Opponents with attacking threats like Gogic & James Scott can hurt us through the middle, they can hurt us either flank & they can hurt us at set pieces

At what stage do we match up the midfield (unless you think that's what we did)?

Fair enough. However, if you're working with a guy everyday and you can see he's just going through the motions, no danger should you put him into a critical situation when you have alternatives who can take his place. I wouldn't anyway. The best example today being Levitt and Moriah.
