How much was that ‘underperforming’ though? He had just got them promoted, it kind of stood to reason that they’d be down that end of the table. I’d suggest what he done with Killie last season would have been akin to finishing 4th or 5th with Hibs, about as expected.

No chance. Hibs outside of the top 6 is an undoubted terrible season. They were newly promoted and he kept them up by 9 points. That’s pretty decent going and I’d suggest every newly promoted team would bite your hand off for that in their first season back up unless it was one of the ‘big five’.
