Looks like quite a few season ticket holders haven't taken up there tickets for this I'm surprised only thing I guess has happened people being on holiday. Just a tip if you are buying in the home end I would go for the Doug Ellis/Trinity Stand. North Stand Lower is close to Away Fans but not the nicest to try to blend in. Wouldn't even bother going in the Holte End as like North Stand Lower if people suspect you are supporting the other team good chance getting beaten up and you will hardly hear the away fans from there. The other 2 stands should be ok again just don't make it too obvious you are supporting Hibs!

Nae colours, both my boys have English accents anyway.

Do you think it will sell out?

I was expecting tickets to be more expensive than they are so I’m a bit torn whether to buy tickets in the Villa end as an insurance policy in case I can’t get them in the Hibs end. If it won’t sell out I’m as well just waiting.

I doubt it will sell out Tonight/Tomorrow.

The Club has 30-33K ST Holders out of 40K available home seats the rest of the tickets are held back for Members generally. The ST Holders have had till General Sale to effectively buy their seat which is why you now have some available. The club has 25-30K Members so my guess is due to holidays this has meant available seats as for league games even members generally buy tickets within an hour or so.

Just to echo what I said earlier be careful where you buy your seats North Stand Lower which are R Blocks and Holte end Lower and Upper I wouldn't buy in there.

Looking at the amount available they seem to be going quickly.

I think I’m just going to wait and hope for the best. Main reason I want to go is so my laddie can enjoy the atmosphere. Not sure he’d thank me if we went and he had to sit in silence while we look at the Hibs end enjoying themselves.

I think because we’re expected to get pumped, there’ll be a good atmosphere in the Hibs end regardless.

I’m not concerned in the slightest about any aggro (maybe I should be), I’m sure that’d be fine and I wouldn’t be an idiot about it. I’m just no sure I want to spend loads of money on travel, accommodation and tickets if my laddie will resent me for getting him a ticket in the wrong stand 😂

He'll have a good view of the pitch and the hibs fans will be opposite so should hear them in full voice.

If anyone is thinking of buying in the Upper Tier of Trinity A Blocks the view is restricted in a lot of places further up the stand also.

My thoughts too… but I’m an effort to cover all bases and outcomes, what if you don’t get a ticket in the Hibs end and then there’s a scramble for tickets for the remaining Aston Villa end…? Waiting could mean missing out…. I’m sure there will be hibs fans that would buy the Villa end tickets should you successfully get Hibs end tickets too.

If the tie is remotely close (yes I know) and it looks like Villa could be going out, Hibs fans will be made as welcome as a fart in a space suit in the Villa end. Can't imagine we'll be hard to spot either, as soon as the Scottish accent is heard you'd stand out like a sore thumb.

Going on the ground plan, it's the same as the away end for EPL teams, so will be just under 3,000.

Approx 2,200 but a fair chunk of those will go to sponsors, players family etc so probably around 1k when they go on sale.

I’ve gone for it. Hopefully in the away end but will at least have this as back up if I fancy it on the day.

If youre lucky enough to get ticket for hibs end, sell home end ticket....some daft hibbie will buy it.

Or just lose the £30 you paid for the away ticket.

I'd pay a lot more than that to be at this game

Their standard away end includes Q3 which didn’t seem to be on sale to Hibs first this morning so don’t know if they’ve removed it for segregation.

The away allocation in England is 3000 or 10%. Obviously the bigger clubs allocate which is ever the lesser of the two. Couldnt tell you if the same percentages exist under the auspices of UEFA.

The home end is massive. 13,501

By December it was fully operational and had a capacity of 13,501 seats, bringing the Villa Park capacity to 40,310. Upon completion, the Holte was the largest single end stand in Britain.

The hotel I booked prices have gone up a lot since I booked it, guessing other places will be the same. Also a bit concerned I wouldn’t get parked at a city centre place.

It’s no drama at all though, im with my 10 year old laddie so I’ll no be out after the game so it’s only pre-match that’s an issue and it’ll be easy enough to get to the city centre before the game.

Think they are probably just trying to cover their back. In reality there are tens to hundreds of away fans in home stands at any well attended football game rival matches included no point pretending there's not. Bit unfair if they are doing this now when the club hasn't put in the Booking History or having account for so long Hibs have for Villa fans to stop us buying tickets.

All kind of sad most countries you can openly sit in most sections of the stadium supporting either team.

I would expect it’s down to how the individual behaves.

Any Hibs fan that is jumping about singing Hibs songs or wearing colours would deserve everything that’s coming their way as that would be disrespectful IMO.

If I end up in the Villa end I’ll get the wee man a Villa scarf and we will be as discreet as we can be. If we’re not causing any bother for anyone else I’m pretty relaxed about it being an issue.

Wonder if there’s a Villa equivalent of kicks for kids that could take any tickets in the Villa end that Hibs fans don’t need if they are successful in getting tickets in the Hibs end?

I’m hoping to get tickets in the Hibs end and if I do, I’m no sure I can be arsed selling the ones I’ve got in the Villa end. Would be good if they can be put to use though.

Sure there’ll be others in the same boat, maybe the Villa fan on here can confirm if there’s a Villa in the community type charity that could take the tickets that Hibs fans don’t need after the general sale?

I believe there is no such scheme now as the club has it's own huge charity foundation area so does what it needs through this but I could be wrong. Not sure if there will be a resale option online for this game normally is for Premier League Games.

Always a chance but some of the folk saying rumours about it just sound like they're peeved at other Hibs fans for securing tickets.

It'll be up to Villa if they take action and it is what it is but anyone who thinks that these sort of games do not have a proportion of fans in the "wrong end" are living in lala land.

Others have mentioned plenty games, including France V Scotland where large numbers of away fans were in the home stands.

I've got three tickets in the "home end" at present, if I'm lucky enough to get tickets in the ST sale tomorrow then brilliant but the insurance is there. If Villa rescind those tickets, such as life but I'll still go to Birmingham and have a great time with my fellow Hibby's, that's what it's all about.

If you are a brave man I'd say walk its about 40-50 minutes. The Train Stations are normally very busy huge queues after the game and taxis pretty rare due to demand. Otherwise you could walk for a bit and get a bus. The area round the ground isn't great and is sketchy at the best of times so just be careful that's all I'd say!

Its because they’re not on sale to season ticket holders yet so if you assign it to one they won’t have the right privileges.

You deserve a brief for all the advice and wee tips you posted on here.

Well done,pal

Maybe someone will dm you with a ticket for the Holy Ground (ER !)

It's fine I don't expect anything and anyway there is 2 of us coming up :greengrin
The other guy is a bigger Villa fan really than I am so if either of us got a ticket by chance I'd let him have it.

This is the first time I've posted on forums of another team but my motto is if you can offer help and want to why not it's better than fans travelling to another area clueless of where to go etc. I've watched Sports in 5 continents and have been fairly clueless about some of the stadiums/areas I visited.

Could very well happen, other clubs have been known to do that.

Could happen? Earlier you claimed it was already happening.

You weren’t making things up to try and alarm fellow Hibs supporters were you? Very weird behaviour if so.

New account + Scottish Address + Scottish name + Hibs mentioned in the email address + questionnaire where buyer admits love of Irn Bru and the Proclaimers.

No idea how they can figure this out? Unless it’s just all new accounts.

All they have to say is that it was a website error allowing new unverified accounts to purchase tickets and as such your order has been cancelled and a refund issued.

It was a general sale. Anybody could buy tickets as long as you created an account (like most football clubs I’ve bought tickets off).

Pretty sure I have a Cardiff, Southampton, Wolves, Spurs, Swindon and Bristol City accounts.

So fans aren't allowed to support Villa from Edinburgh or Scotland?

Pretty rubbish if they do so.

If there are any issues they have folks address - just let people go watch the football.

Half the EPL fan base is from abroad / tourists anyway.

Man Utd fans all from Manchester ?!!

I think your goal in life is to be the only Hibs supporter at games! :hilarious

You wanted Hibs to sell the whole south stand to villa fans, you're annoyed because Block 7 might be getting a leg up, you don't want non ST holders to get home tickets and now you're getting moist with the thought that Hibs fans in the home end might get caught.

And you expect folk to buy you pints for your entertainment value?

Actually, I'll buy you a pint if one of my ST friends who can't go to Brum manage to get me a ticket, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

How do they know most folk aren't villa and Hibs fans that see it as a great opportunity to see both sides, most Scottish folk have an English club they follow..it's a general sale, can't discriminate people because they're from Scotland..need to be careful with that.

Some people do love winding their fellow Hibs fans up..

It's a general sale, it's not the first time the Villa Park away section is too small for the numbers wishing to attend, if they had any concerns restrictions could have been imposed but weren't. Like all Premier League grounds Villa Park has loads of football tourists who don't necessarily support the home team, for every game, it's not like they aren't used to strangers & can be relied upon to chase any non-Brummies!
