I agree. Problem is Villa fans have had plenty chance to buy their tickets. Hibs fans, outside of ST holders & the short window they were available in error, haven't.

Nobody is saying that's definitely how they are getting tickets. It could be Hibs fans passing them on. But given Hibs messed up the permissions to buy and everyone could buy a ticket when it was meant to be for STs only, it's a fair assumption that the restriction for having had an account for 6 months would also have been turned off.

Also you can make a new ticketing account up online and get a reference number in minutes I believe. It's not that difficult.

I think we would have struggled to sell out anyway because of the kick off time. Not everyone can get time off work or take their kids out of school to travel. The concern for me now is large areas of empty seats. Tickets going on general sale a day before the game is rediculous. A Tuesday morning?

BBC showing match live will also keep any panic buying to a min. As others have said, those that want to go will likely get a ticket.

Most places in city centre would be fine. Place is rammed with tourists at the moment. Maybe avoid easter road/ leith walk areas but to be honest you be pretty unlucky to have any bother.

You'll probably be in good company supporting Villa if you watch the game in a pub around there as it's likely to have a few Hearts fans in it.

If you want to be nearer where the game itself is happening but at a discrete distance from football pubs then Broughton Street is a bit more 'cosmopolitan'. The Cask and Barrel at the bottom of the street has plenty of screens.

Hibs almost got it right by allowing them first dibs in other parts of the ground. The problem was they opened up tickets for those that shouldn’t have been allowed. The season ticket window was also too long

The trick seems to be to ignore the map. Keep refreshing the page and if something shows up on the left of the screen, click on it and go quickly. Pot luck where you'll end up but if you take your time going into the map you'll have no chance.

The glitch seems to be FF tickets who were moved weren't reserved and some non ST managed to find a glitch in system to get tickets in a short space of time before the club realised.

The crapest KO time you can think of for folk who work, the game is live on cooncil telly and yet after selling 19,000 home tickets we will still have loads of folk left disappointed for this game. Its just a shame that the half assed way this has been handled is going to cause a good bit of bad feeling.

If its any consolation to folk who haven't managed to get a ticket, at least when we're 0 - 3 down after half an hour all you have to do is pick up the remote and turn over to the Big Bang theory or something :greengrin

I'm not blind to that fact mate. But even with that being the case these folk are still willing to buy a ticket for Easter Road and they aren't going along to support Aston Villa. The 13K for Luzern is pretty well in line with what Hibs would expect for an early round game against a club from a country like Switzerland, the only club from there likely to have lead to a sellout would have been Basel.

In the end the opposition is always a factor .... It always mystifies me that some of the clubs who yo yo between the EFL and the EPL in England get less support in the championship than they do in the EPL even though life for most of them in the EPL means spending the weekend watching their club getting pumped on a regular basis by the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City and paying higher ticket prices for the privilege.

In the end all you can judge a club's potential on is it's latent support and from time to time this club shows that ours is pretty sizeable.
