Huge 2nd half. Run out of steam/ideas and our goose might be cooked, stick to the task in hand and score a goal in the first 20 minutes then who knows.

Over the years Lewis Stevenson did help out going forward, but in the last couple of years he has slowed a little and stayed back a little more.

Miller on the other side does not have the ability to play out, but he has a long throw. The modern game needs full backs who can play, we've none.Even with two wingers and two central strikers?

I agree that both are limited but tonight I just want them to defend and use the ball well, unlocking the wide forwards. They haven't been good enough at that for me though.

Half time thoughts (though open to revising at full time!)
- Levitt and Newell make a good base of our midfield, but they need someone more dynamic in front of them to link with the forwards. We’ve looked dangerous when Newell carries but it doesn’t happen often enough.
- Miller should be out right back, no question. Like a decent player but needs game time. Desire and attitude looks spot on
- Vente looks good, allowing for him probably not having training with his teammates. Makes clever little runs and looks like he has a good understanding. Not sure how he’ll cope against really physical SPFL centrehalfs.
- Yoann needs to be more direct. It must be infuriating to play with him as he’s just that little bit overly complicated. Drop the shoulder, burn the full back for pace and get the ball moving
- ALF’s attitude is spot on. Chases down and harries defenders, not afraid of doing the dirty work. Looks like he’s be a useful player to help bring younger guys on, much in the same way that Brewster did years ago

He’s the weak link more and more these days and we need better if we want to compete this season. Overall I’ve been fairly impressed by Hibs against what are clearly a good team. If we’d performed to this level against St Mirren we’d have taken 3 points no problem.

That’s the problem with this Hibs team right now. The quality is there. The consistency is not. Let’s hope for the good version of Hibs in the second half because the win in there for the taking.
