Just drove along Gorgie Road . Street still lined with no parking cones and signs saying no parking 8am Sat 21st to 6pm sunday 22nd. to allow for special event.

Council must have been expecting some party. :greengrin

Mate of mine who is a Jambo said the atmosphere was good 15 mins before game and up to KO but was disappointed with the support for the 120 mins.

I guess you get that at cup finals when more people attend. But while Hearts might have a bigger support they are traditionally very quiet and went several years with two songs.

He also said Neilson was getting dogs abuse in extra time.

How so?

Offered little or no support during the game even though they were in a draw situation. Very very few deemed their team worth a clap at the end where only hundreds stayed to see them get a medal after an excellent season.

Yup. Fire drill with 10 mins to go.

zero, 0, nada, nowt

Does hitting the post not count as being "on target"?

Just curious.

You have to hand it to them. If they’d been a bit more clinical and taken their chances then they could have lost 2-0.

Depends what stats you look at.

Technically it's not on target though as it's hit the post. The target is the bit inside the posts and crossbar. The same as darts with the wire 😉

Hearts did very little and never looked like they could win it imo
You have to credit the rangers players for their fitness levels playing extra time again but looking the stronger team
They also showed you don’t need strikers to win a cup if you have players who csn create chances and other players who csn chip in with goals

I don’t think they were. We were abysmal against st Johnstone and one of the poorest cup final performances I’ve ever seen.

I agree re the poorest cup final performance ever seen.

By all accounts this from Hearts was worse.

0 shots on target paints an awful story for those hearts fans

Aye but 1-5 and all that…… I’d be raging if we set up like them and then take a striker off and bring on another midfielder/defender in Halliday!

Barring the first 5 minutes when they hit the outside of the post they did nowt!

After Gordon tipped Porto's header onto the post in the semi final I genuinely thought it was Hearts name on the cup. As they had 3rd place sewn up they had 5 weeks to prepare for the final. Compared to Rangers who, up until the penultimate game of the season, were still going for the title and had that physical/emotional energy sapping game 3 days prior to the final.

Despite Gordon performing his usual heroics and Collum having a shocker they didn't even get close. S*at it. Like they have done 3 out of the last 4 finals. Press would be having a field day if that was us

Absolute disaster tactically from Stig of the dump. Jambos seem to be pretty annoyed, which is nice.

Was fairly agnostic going into final as my hatred of all things hun meant I didn't actively want them to win. However the thought of a cup parade and the usual reaction from over the city meant I was happy enough with the result.

They really did **** the bed, never a better time to beat the hun in a final.

Least they graduated to The Rangers this year after getting pumped by Brora Rangers the year before. Fingers crossed they get drawn against Cove or Berwick next season.

Pretty much forgotten Rangers won on Saturday already. If Hearts had won we'd never have heard the end of it all summer. Thank **** it's done and dusted. Lets get back there ourselves next season.

Any criticism of the Hearts fans bailing out on their team on Saturday. Can remember we were getting ripped for staying back and clapping our team when we lost a final. Bizarre double standards imo

100% This

And for therangers it was very much a poor consolation prize

Maybe childish but Win/win for us
