I’m not sure how Campbell is still in the team but if the partnership of him and JDH worked at Tannadice I can maybe see why.

Looks like Lewie is confirmed as the new vice captain given he's got the armband ahead of McGinn...and I think sends a message about his place in the managers plans.

Rocky is lacking fitnesz for two games a week just yet so expect him back next midweek. With Joe Newell benched the ball might get passed forward more often and Nizzy will benefit from Doidge playing.

Squad rotation options now to keep things fresh given the new system.

I get there is a bit of a myth that Newell never shows any attacking intent but he's like Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard combined compared to Doyle Hayes.

There's a decent 352 to be made out of those players, and I think 352 suits our current squad best.

Not sure we'll line up like that though, more likely Nisbet withdrawn to be one of the 2 who play off Doidge along with Henderson in the usual 343.

Maloney could really do with getting a few performances and results. I quite like having a strong squad, rotating, keeping players fit and on their toes knowing folk can come in and take their place if their standards drop. I didn't think Ross did that nearly often enough and for those who say he didn't have the players, I don't think the players who were frozen out were always obviously worse than players who appeared to be indispensable.

The problem is, if he doesn't get the soon it might start to look like he doesn't know what he's doing, or that he doesn't know what his best team is.

I'm pleased Doidge is playing, pleased Stevenson is playing and I'm looking forward to seeing what Mitchell offers.

We need to see much, much more from Hibs in an attacking sense than we've seen in recent weeks.

I agree. We've already been told Rocky isn't up to 2 games a week yet so not sure why people are surprised. Think it looks a well balanced team{if it is a 352). Hopefully it clicks and we have a great performance and result. Plenty to come off the bench too.

He’s very positive and runs his man every time, sometimes he would be better playing a 1-2 etc but I feel this is the sort of player Maloney wants who is “brave and aggressive” as he calls it in the final third.
