I counted twice we pressed the Celtic defenders that half. Both times they hacked it forward and we picked it up in the middle of their half. They aren't great when pressured but then we can't be bothered to make an effort to do it. Recruitment might have an effect on quality but effort and application should be something a manager can demand and generate.

The worst thing about the last 2 games has been how little we have created - it's been much better tonight.

That, plus the fact that the players have shown a bit of spirit and not chucked it altogether have been the 2 main positives from tonight.

As bad as this has been for long spells - Joe Hart has made 2 cracking saves at key stages in the game.
