One man's super modern Europa Conference League is another man's rebranded Intertoto Cup. 😯

Much higher level than the intertoto cup was though.

Europa League is now just the champions League drop out tournament.

The majority of the stronger teams you could potentially face in the later qualifying rounds of the Europa are now just in the conference league instead.

Only a total of 9 teams got an entry into Europa League qualifiers this season, whereas in previous seasons there was well over 100.

Playing devils advocate here.

Hecky has won an English Premier League game as manager. I'm pretty sure Jack Ross would love to do that and have ambitions to do so.

Would you rather have Hecky as Hibs manager than Jack Ross? If not what point are you trying to make?

Also took us to Hampden.

Once, and we got a hiding IIRC. Ross has taken us there three times so far, including a final. And he'll take us there again.

The facts show that Jack Ross is a better manager for Hibs than Paul Heckingbottom.

Agreed.

Poster was saying Jack Ross is doing things Hecky can only dream of.

No brainer, Jack Ross is clearly better suited to Hibs.

Happy with how things are looking under Jack Ross and hope we have a great season.

Lewis Stevenson has won a Scottish cup, Lionel Messi has not.

The point was about having patience with managers.

Jack Ross deserved it, Heckingbottom didn't. ( in my humble opinion of course, I appreciate some folk rated Heckingbottom).

Exactly. :agree:

I think Jack Ross is doing a great job and will continue to think so until we next lose to Hearts.

That is said only partly in jest

The simple truth is that football is an emotive sport, a blind man could see that we are a far better side, squad, structure and better coached than we have been for a long long time, but everyone's view of success and consequently whether the manager is a success or not is framed by their own hot button issues.

For many, and I am one, that is how we do against Hearts, when we lost that Semi against them I was furious and made some pretty poorly thought out posts and comments, the subsequent St Johnstone defeats didn't affect me as much, although I was annoyed at our no-show in the final.

I would like to think that when we suffer our next reverse against them I will be a bit more sanguine, but football has shown us time and time again that it doesn't take long for even multiple trophy-winning manager's credit in the bank to be exhausted and them under pressure again.

The fact that folk have different expectations, whether realistic or not, makes it I think unfair to harshly criticise them for their criticism of the manager failing to meet their needs, it has aye been.

The time to worry is when the pendulum swings to a substantial majority wanting the manager out.

My own view is that Ross will be gone long before the support wants him to.

Ridiculous post. Clearly goading.

Was just looking at our squad in Lennon's last season. Overinflated 37 man squad including some star turns like Hyndman, Mavrais and Nelom. 30 of them are now no longer at the club. Seemed to be a scattergun approach with no plan or direction. Wage bill must have been huge. Now our squad must be around 20/21 players. All look like they can contribute. Crazy to think that was only 2 years ago.

Although Lennon had us playing some good stuff for a while, his recruitment was appalling and reminded me of McLeish’s scattergun approach around the time of the ‘great adventure”
