I expected Livi to come out 2nd half and give it a right go and close us down quickly but the 2nd half was set up perfectly for a good counter attacking team. We just didn’t play with any composure and lumped and lashed it away and kept falling back deeper. Our passing and movement was woeful. We barely strung any significant passages of play together until the end when Livi were all out attack. I think we are a good counter attacking team but forgot how to do it 2nd half tonight, perhaps down to the significance of the game. Fantastic first half and a superb and richly deserved result though.


For me, Newell isn’t giving us enough of that composure at the moment.

I really like the guy and he’s clearly a talented player who can both shield and carry the ball, but his passing was a bit off - or sometimes the wrong option.

I appreciate he had a Livi were pressing him very tight but that’s when we need our players to dig deep and help withstand the pressure.

I'd swap him for Doidge in a heartbeat. Physical, football nous and great feet. Tin hat is on.


I'd not be surprised to see him turn up in Gorgie.

He’d be a good addition but no chance I’d be swapping him for Doidge.

Livi manager was saying he will probably go for more money abroad.

Been saying pretty much this for weeks, he clearly has much more ability than most of our team, but does not impose himself enough for me in games.

When he does we look a much better team.

Very good 1st half with both Nisbet and Boyle ripping them apart .Gogic had a good game . Don't know what happened 2nd half but we deserved the win. Good 3 points ,on to the Cup game on Saturday.

His basic technique and ability is a ****ing mile off the standard required to play for us.

Out of position, unfit, injured, what ever excuses people have made for him, he’s just not good enough.
Not good enough eh, I'll predict next season he'll be one of our best players, if not the best. It never ceases to amaze me how some people want to be the first to dismiss our players, I'll put my faith in Jack to know a good player than an amateur :aok:
