Did Boyle just gave away Newell has signed a new deal. :hyper

He said "Have you signed that new contract yet?" so I'm not sure that gives anything away one way or the other.

Ever dislocated your shoulder? It’s an awful awful pain... while he looked uncomfortable he didn’t looked as much in pain as that would be.....I thought it might be a cracked rib?

Excellent result and a lot better all round performance....hopefully Irvine hasn`t broken anything as I done something similar when I was younger with a similar landing!

Livi losing aswell it makes it a great Saturday afternoon.....however that twat Mclaughlan in his report "questioning" the penalty as seems to be the case whenever we get a decision!

3rd is ours to lose!

Bitter bitter little w***, wonder if he questioned his teams penalty last night...! Total tosspot!

Looks lovely. This is as strong a position as we’ve been in for a long, long time. Team looks like it is clicking at the right point. Good depth as well.

He was rattled by the end of that interview

Absolutely rattled

:faf::giruy2:
I think it's ridiculous his job is being questioned tbf, I think the Scottish football bbc journalists are a joke.

2.5 year deal too!

It's his versatility too Aldo, he can play full back, out on the wing, or even in a midfield area, and still not look out of place or position. The one gripe I had about the side was standing off ball watching and not closing down - Cadden sets a tone for others around him to harry, close down, and win possession back as soon as possible. Never gives an opposition player peace. And a threat going forward too. Terrific energy.

Please can we now see we don’t need Dylan, had his chance, turned us down for a quick buck.

JR said in his Hibs interview that both Gogic and Irvine both just had impact injuries, so very good news.

Eh, I'd say we definitely still need a player like him who takes the ball and moves it forward. Against teams who press high we still struggle big time.

A magnificent 3pts and performance, should have been 4 or 5 at least. Irvine the stand out for me but to a man they were all outstanding.

More performances like that and we will all be happy hibees at the end of the season

In fairness, players often see things differently to fans.

Harper spoke about him as a person as well as as a player and will have had the benefit of having trained with him.

Wilkins wasn't a success as a player at Hibs, but surely you can understand how a very young player making their way in the game might have a rosy opinion of what a guy like Wilkins might have brought to the table, other than just 1st team performances for Hibs?

Yeah fair enough. I genuinely despised Wilkins at hibs as a fan though. Applauding huns as he got subbed off when we’re 4-0 down. GTF

Agree but We have Jackson, and Scott just now, who move it forward quickly.

That’s exactly what he said, so I’m presuming Newell is in discussion

I’m struggling to understand how there can be any debate about the penalty.

Murphy was clearly tripped in the box, was he not?

He's finished. Poor career choices and injuries have got the better of him. Great player for us but a liability for Sunderland and Aberdeen.

To be honest, I don't really believe when anyone on here says a player is finished anymore. Don't think Dylan looked finished at all today, he wasn't Aberdeen problem. They had zero pace and played everything in front of us.

Kevin Harper has just ruined my night by saying ray wilkins was one of the best players he played with at hibs.

He was utterly rank for us.

To be honest Kevin is correct...do you remember the rest of that team he played with😉

Not only did we out muscle the Dons in midfield, looked solid at the back and gave them lots of headaches upfront with Boylers movement and Doidge's work rate but we also played some nice stuff on a very difficult pitch. Well done the Cabbage on our Cabbage patch :greengrin

:flag:

One of my criticisms has been that we have regularly been outmuscled and outfought in midfield

That hasn’t been the case the last few games since signing Jackson & Cadden and bringing Gogic back

It wasn’t always pretty but we battled for everything. Delighted with the win! Big Daz and Gogic were very effective, Doidge worked their defence, Boyle was menacing.

Truth be told, it was horrible to watch, both teams slugged it out, but we had a bit more quality and were comfortable and worthy winners.

Not sure about that, wasnt he wothout a team from summer until January?

I think you’re right, but that was his decision, in order to get himself in shape. I might be wrong but I got the impression that he chose us as the team to showcase his comeback. No hard feelings towards the guy. I’m delighted to have him on board till summer ........ anything beyond that will be a big bonus.

Very good performance best this season. Irvine and Cadden very good additions and bringing McGregor back has made a big difference a leader and organiser.
Competition everywhere in the squad and Porteous and Hanlon have had a kick up the backside they needed .
If he stays fit should be McGregor and either Hanlon or Porteous , Hanlon has the jersey and it's his to loose.
Well done Jack Ross

This victory shows why football this season is so unpredictable!
Only a few weeks ago it was get rid of Jack Ross as we were 5 points behind Aberdeen and they had 2 games in hand and we were having a bad spell?
Now we're 5 points ahead in 3rd place and they only have 1 game in hand.
When are some fans going to accept that you usually have to play the whole season (for Herts interlopers) to see where you are in the league?

We haven’t played like that a lot this season Missed chances apart it was as near a perfect performance as you could get Let’s push on now
All the more impressive given opposition and given our home record
