Wouldn’t have thought so. Quarter final. Strongest team needed.

That puts us one point clear in second from Celtic. Celtic however have a game in hand, so if we adjust the likely table with Lennon in charge, we’re one point clear of Celtic.

Celtic have three games in hand at the moment - against Kilmarnock, Aberdeen and St Mirren.

The best looking centre midfield in Scottish football. With Scott Allan still to come in.

Will stay that way as long as they don't let Nisbet's French barber Claude Hairof near them

Outstanding team performance today - this game will have given many of the players some confidence to carry into the next few games, I'm sure - good to see the "youngsters" coming on and doing so well too, we could have scored a few more - really enjoyable to watch - Hamilton were very poor though ...

Excellent performance. Our movement off the ball was so much better than normal and having both Newall and Hallberg constantly on the move and willing to make the easy ball for teammates, supported by Wright and others, makes such a difference. Delighted for Hallberg who has never done anything wrong and always looked to have some good attributes. Also delighted for Wright who has been a bit slow to start but showed today that he can be a very valuable signing. A good win in the quarter and we will be really flying.

Havent seen it yet but sounds like another superb performance away from home. Up to second (all be it the lesser greens have a few games in hand) but things are ticking along nicely. Confidence must be high..no slip ups at Alloa and we really must be in with a shout of the Betfred on current form. We;re virtually the only side to give Rangers a game this season which is criminally overlooked by the media imo.

I'll be quite happy if the media continue to overlook this. Much prefer when Hibs aren't being bigged up. It's mental that Rangers have conceded twice as many goals at ER as they have all the other stadiums put together though!

Yep. I've actually really enjoyed the opportunity to watch games on the streams. Pity the new sky deal is in place, as I like the system. If they could have worked something out to be say £15ppv and £15 attend in person, clubs keep half of their PPV revenue and the other half goes into the prize pot, could end up with more fans at games and more fans able to watch remotely.

I think the one thing that this season has maybe shown up is that the Hibs TV international (which I had a couple of years ago), is far too cheap

JohnMcM

Steady.

Let's wait and see shall we? If I'm wrong I'll face up to it when the time comes.

Balance, skill and a lowish centre of gravity like his stand out a mile when they have speed of foot and one touch ball control. :greengrin

Superb performance. Now only 5 points off our 30 game total from last season - only 17 games played. That's terrific progress. Winnable league games in December too.

Just keep the focus, concentrate on Alloa, and hopefully a semi final in a major cup we can realistically win :aok:

Excellent professional performance today with nobody having a bad game. I don’t want to put too much of a dampener on things but Accies are absolutely dreadful. They put zero pressure on the ball in midfield and I reckon I could have played for Hibs today and got away with it. That’s not Hibs fault though and we dealt with them very well.
Still think our centre mid needs a fresh face for more competitive opponents.

Sometimes you can only play as well as you're allowed to.

Hibs never gave them a sniff, I watched them at home to Aberdeen and over the 90 minutes felt they were the better team.

If we had drawn 1-1at home to the sheep we would be further ahead of them.

Too many times in my 50 odd years of watching Hibs we should be tucking teams away like we did today, however in many instances we have failed miserably.

I wouldn't undermine the Hibs result in any way today.

I think there is a valid point about the quality (or lack of) in the bottom half of the league. But we have been very efficient in these games this year.

I think we are a certainty to get a European place and we could do that even if we don’t beat Rangers, Celtic or Aberdeen. He just needs to figure out a way of improving in the big games because we are going to drop very little against the lower half of the table.

I meant in general Andy, albeit KM had the last 10 minutes today. It's great to see some good wins without important players missing.

Will be good to see them all back fighting for places. The current starting 11 are making it hard for them which is great competition.

Attitude and tempo spot on from the start.

Sometimes let us down this season, too slow on the ball and found it difficult to move teams around. Not today. Working harder when on the ball to create space and give options with quicker passes. Brilliant to watch and could have been 6 or 7. Bring on Alloa and Utd

What a great start to the month. Two away games, goals lost 0-7 goals scored. 🙂

Totally dominate today and took our foot of the gas after the 4th goal, could easily have been 6 or 7.

December is a month where the wheels often come off for Hibs, but with the fixtures coming up we've got a real good chance to go into 2021 top 2/3 and in a cup semi final.

Aberdeen is the one that rankles. Our recent record against them is very poor and we’ve barely laid a glove on them in quite a few of those games. Hopefully we can address that in the remaining games against them this season.

Traditionally we fall apart after New Year.

Traditionally, yes.

In recent years we’ve done the transfer business that should really have been done the previous summer and had a better 2nd half to the season than the 1st.

Been the case every season since we got back up.

Exactly. I remember under Yogi we were neck and neck with the hun and played them round about Christmas at ER. If we’d won I think we’d have gone top. I think anyway. Stokes scored in about 15 seconds and big Maka sold the jerseys as we got hammered. We collapsed after that and limped into Europe by the skin of our teeth based on the points we’d built up in the first half of the season.

Not been anything like that recently though.

Definitely improvement in terms of possession but also final third play which has let us down in some games earlier in the season. Really good to see more players in the squad clearly contributing like Hallberg Wright Gullan and S McGinn in the last two games. A very good position to be in at this stage of the season.

They'll appear soon enough I'd imagine.

In the meantime there's this from the beeb.

Interesting to hear that Nisbet played a bit deeper, in more of a 4-4-1-1, and had a good game.

As JR says himself, playing 4-4-2 does leave us a little light in the middle at times, although obviously as with any formation you hope that the positives outweigh the downsides. But it seems that we are getting more fluid and adaptable as a squad, good options everywhere.

Nisbet is showing himself to be a very good ,intelligent player. Just shows it just takes belief and the right club to see players blossom.
