At what point in that game did we hit the 'self destruct button' :faf:

When their keeper pulled off two fantastic stops ? We were always pushing for a 4th goal.

Hamilton were as expected, workmanlike and played the 90 - we're clear 3rd in the league FFS !!!

:greengrin Must’ve been 6 all or something. We’ll get that game on catch up.

You’d be wrong then.

Penalty given away from a tired player, also a freak own goal and it’d have been easy to let the heads drop and concede another one, maybe two. Hamilton didn’t get a sniff to do that though which was very good.

I wouldn’t be making excuses about being a ‘tired’ player or anything like that. Defence have had loads of praise, rightly, but got really sloppy in the second half tonight. Two penalties and an OG was poor (OG possibly a wee bit unlucky). We did see it out fine after that, in fairness.

We should have scored 6 or 7 tonight.

Newell leaving the ground with his arm in a sling. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Ross seemed to think it was nothing serious.

When we gave away 2 penalties and scored an OG??

Yep, that's 'self destruct' :greengrin it's football bud, end of......Hamilton plugged away like they do, and normally take points off teams........we didn't self destruct, we won and played some lovely football. Be happy at the progress :aok:

Some absolutely howling stuff from him there "doing his business in the street".

Yeah even Tam was looking at him

He's not bad but him reading the questions off his phone is really bugging me. They could have had it a bit better prepared.

He was the pro that was heralded when some were questioning why. With good reason. I find him irritating and strangely Hunnish. “Martin Doidge” anyone? Bin him before the Brora fan(s) tear him to bits.

How am I wrong? You canny say a hibs team 3-0 up at home to Hamilton showed good mental strength when the game finished 3-2?

Hamilton won two penalties tonight, you don’t get them out of thin air if you’re not “getting a sniff”

I thought it was really poor to Chuck the 3 goal lead from such a comfortable position. A bit mind boggling that you can say we showed good mental strength.
You’re wrong because in the past when the other team gets a couple of fortuitous goals we’d have dropped points. We didn’t, we stayed composed and did everything we needed to make sure that it didn’t go into a proper “implosion”.

If you don’t search for the negative in things then life becomes much more enjoyable you know.

Big plus for me tonight was that we have found our strongest starting XI. Point for development, we need a couple more in beyond that 11.

Wouldn’t say I’m searching for the negatives but don’t understand how you can talk up the teams mental strength when they’ve nearly blew a 3 goal lead.

Pretty patronising for no reason after having a debate? Petty.

That was brutal at the end, too many passengers and not enough leadership.

I'm not being patronising or petty, I think you're view of the game is nonsense - can't be clearer than that.

He's not bad...he's absolutely brutal. How he's had the career he's had is an absolute mystery.

Never has a pertinent question about football and his attempts at banter are toe curling.

We played well the first half. Not so much the last half hour. We deserved to win.

No sure what’s so bad about my opinion on the game. Cruising at 3-0 then was poor giving away the 2 goals. Game management has to be better. Not sure whats so out of hand about that.

We wanted three points from this game and against a sticky team we got three points. On a more xubtle level we saw Nisbet gain further confidence at this level with two great goals.

Read some negarive comments about Drey Wright on here. I thought he made some great passes.

Nothing bad or out of hand about your opinion it’s something you’re entitled to surely I’d never say otherwise.
Playing well doesn’t win games though, that was your decree on Sunday. What changed tonight? Playing so-so does win games?

Not sure why there’s such a reaction to your post.

It’s a totally fine opinion, I’d even agree with it. We played brilliant for 70 minutes but game management was poor and could’ve came back to bite us. What’s so bad about that?

Not sure man. I’m happy we won of course I am. Just think we could’ve seen the game out a lot better which I thinks fair enough.

In my defence I had said further down that match thread that Id made a mistake. I’d meant playing well doesn’t always win you games.

The way I saw it as well.

I posted at half time that it was our best 45 minutes since Ross came in. We were right at it from the very first whistle.

Started sloppy in the second half and the missed penalty woke us up. Got a bit easy for us when we got the third and we got lazy after that IMO.

Wright or Mallan should have been on for Newell. Again, Hallberg offers nothing. He can’t run, he can’t pass and he can’t tackle. There was points in that second half the players where giving it to Gogic to ignore him. He looks nice though and like he should be a great player. The Scandinavian Ross Chisholm.

JR will take a lot of positives from last night but also hopefully learn from the 2nd half lack of game management. The first 45 was a good as anything from Hibs in a while. Murphy, Newall, Gogic, Nisbet, Boyle were all outstanding, with great balance to the side. Could easily have been 5 or 6 up within the hour.

However, there was a point in that game when someone on the field (or Ross himself) should have just shut up shop and closed the game down. It became far too open - fine if we take your chances, but Hibs didn't and it almost cost us in the end.

We were cruising then hit the self destruct button. Hamilton weren't that good a side. We shouldn't have been panicking at the end and should have seen the game out a hell of a lot easier.
I didn’t see any panic whatsoever. Sloppy yes but there was no hint of panic on the park. Fans might have been but the players didn’t.

I agree, Hallberg offers nothing, it's like playing with 10 men when he plays. What is he actually good at?

I slated Newell for IMO being too lightweight in the beginning, but, wtf do I know, I will keep ma mooth shut on Hallberg at the moment.

What's happened to our defence? That's seven goals conceded in three games.

Need to get it sorted!
