KP is one of the best fans rep weve had,and you Shaz/Peter come out with that. Exact same post, word for word. Dearie me. Poor indeed.
B

I think the Shaz one was supposed to be quoting the Peter one (without doing it properly), not criticising KP :greengrin

I think Shaz was just quoting the previous post and stating it was a poor one.

I totally agree with what you say about KP and as far as online presence there is no competition he's by far and away the best fans rep we've had. I'd given up on them before he was voted in, he's proved to me there is a place for them.

Shaz was agreeing with the majority, that the original post was poor. It’s just the copied text wasn’t in a quote box

KP My children's and their friends strips aren't being sent out until September. How did the club decide which 7000 would get theirs and more importantly which of us wouldn't. I presume you got yours ok?Peter you have just taken the first step to communication skills. Now direct your enquiry to Easter Road .
A apology to power wouldn't go amiss while your at it.

Sent from my SM-G975U1 using TapatalkVery poor patter for sure, I know KP and he doesn't sell, manufacture, market or do delivery of Football strips for Hibs or anyone else.

And as for queue jumping, more likely to sacrifice his place in the queue to help out.

How is everyone doing? I do hope you and yours are as good as can be and Hibernian’s return to football has been a welcome boost for you.

Another hope is that we can close off August in a strong way - a very promising start – we should be assured of our craft and graft so far but with still plenty of room for improvement. 14 points from 18 was the players aim when they assessed the first 6 games and their one point away from that going into game 6 at the weekend. A comment from within the club ‘We don’t accept to win one, lose one and draw one. We’re resilient to win everything’. Always available through known channels and [email protected] if you need anything.

Last Thursday (20th August 2020) The First Minister announced her hope that stadia and entertainment venues can reopen by 14 September (These further changes will only be possible if everything continues in a positive trajectory – decision likely on September 10th by all accounts). There isn’t much more information coming from the Government on this – no guidelines or what the first milestone may be – with the lack of finer detail until, what will likely be, close to the decision day the club has been proactive working up 4-5 different plans for having supporters returning to Easter Road but there is so many variables, I’m sure it is frustrating not being able to plan with certainty. I know the Scottish Joint Response Group has been asking for clarity on a number of points. Very much watch this space moving into early September but positive news nonetheless.

KP - Still lots of questions but once we all know a bit more I’m certain the club will push some comms out in a timely manner about its position and approach. Very much high on my pad to stay close to this for supporters as this date looms closer

The Match on Hibs TV returns this weekend for the third airing. This offering will continue to get smoother (feedback has been passed on about Studio audio) and it was great to hear that a high percentage rate of season ticket holders (80-85%) were signing in to use Hibspass to watch our opening games. If any issues or questions pop up the club does have a dedicated support team at Stream Digital available – [email protected].

A potential big benefit noted in this bizarre footballing landscape is the full squad and the (expanded numbers) substitute bench surrounding the dugout at home matches. This has a look and feel of travelling away with your football club in younger years and youth groups - all being in it together with a common goal, supporting your teammates – not really an opportunity at elite first team level with packed grounds. Great to see the camaraderie between the players, definitely a tight group at the moment, commandeered well by the experienced players in the squad.

A few questions asked about how Hibs Players have been handling lockdown and is the club ensuring it’s staff and players follow Government strict guidelines during the easing of lockdown. Graeme Mathie on the recent Longbangers podcast brought to life the effort the club and players have went to ensure they serve and represent our supporters as exemplars. The club has enhanced the player code of conduct at this time to protect everyone associated with the club. There was more great questions and fantastic insight shared on this podcast I would recommend you give it a listen if you haven’t already – available here >

I’ve been working with the club and supporters on a number of issues and points recently;

Email communications – The club issued a request in July to ensure Supporters details were up-to-date (
http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10685 (http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10685)
). Being up-to-date is more important now than it ever was before and this is working in the main for the majority of supporters. There is a small band of supporters not receiving weekly updates (Latest news ahead of matches, relevant digital programme and more). If you believe you’re one of the small band not receiving official communication please do check your credentials (steps in link just above) and, if needed, the next stage of contacting the club and they will review immediately with their data partners to fix. Please contact [email protected] providing your name and client reference. Thanks for your perseverance there.

Strip fulfilments – The small clubstore were working round the clock to get through the initial 7,000 home strip pre-order. This has now been completed and includes the Away strip plus release of the very popular goalkeeper strips. Thank you for your patience and understanding to those that have to wait a little longer, especially those with infant and very small children orders (a delay on socks).

The window to order strips again is here and includes larger sizes sold out super fast last time round - HOME STRIPS AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER (http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10716)

_____________________

3,000 new season cards for new purchases, movers and class changes are being worked up and through by the Ticket Office (new opening hours for the hard working team, 10am-1pm Monday to Friday - http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10711 (http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10711)). Additionally they’re preparing the 1,000 Hibs Kids packs for issue and working manually and individually through emailing the 11,000 Digital Season Ticket to supporters which will act as a second option (The digital card is sent by email to the lead booker rather than the individual season ticket holder). Any questions, they’re always super helpful and available [email protected]

Morning all,

Firstly, I hope you, your friends and families are still all safe and well as we go again at this unprecedented pandemic together. Always just an email or a message away if I can help with anything, anytime - [email protected].

September gone in a flash and another busy month coming up, 7 games in October, all set for it to be a positive one. Transfer window shuts on October 5th.

The return to support has hit a bump in the road with the landscape changing again. It now looks increasingly likely that we won't see fans at grounds in 2020 (most teams will have been sensible and budgeted for no fans this year/season despite the hope of partial crowds). The actual game at elite level isn't at risk, the Scottish Premiership season will continue but phased return of fans is postponed until the situation improves greatly, Hibs are ready for supporters whenever that is. We will continue to hear positive working dialogue between the Joint Response Group (backed respectfully by the clubs) and the Government on moving forward in the coming weeks.

The excellent blog by Colin Millar, Senior Operations Manager, has been shared here previously and if you haven't read it then I would definitely point you towards it, fantastic insight and this will give you an idea of the effort the team behind the scenes will be preparing for our return (which includes a nod towards our new PA system being up and live (no more buzzing or low sounds!)) -https://medium.com/@colinmillar/what-goes-on-behind-closed-doors-at-easter-road-be45482702d4 (https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/Q4yyCLPP9fRVx3i23mEQ?domain=medium.com)

More to come and hear about from the club over the short term - Hibs TV content, Inside the Box raffles, Season Ticket Exclusives, pictures of personalised cut-outs etc.

Hibernian Supporters - www.hiberniansupporters.co.uk (http://www.hiberniansupporters.co.uk/) - are within touching distance of the 1 million pound contributions to the clubsince 2015 - the lasting direct impact of this will stand the test of time(none more so than contributing towards 2016) - http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10739 (https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/7L9FCM998IqDKJCDQ2E4?domain=hibernianfc.co.uk)

______________________________

I would like to update you on what I've brought to the board's attention on behalf of supporters.

Supporting Supporters
Our Supporters will continue to face difficult times - Hibernian continues to play a significant part of our fans lives and morale (results always help (!)but it goes further than that). Create positivity and unity in the coming weeks and months to make our fans, the community, city and wider club proud. Supporters will need us more than ever.

KP - There have been a number of excellent interviews circulating recently - Ron interviewed by Sky and STV, Leeann leading the conversations on moving the game forward and insightful content from our squad - Porteous the most recent. More to come I'm sure.

______________________________

The club are pleased to offer a Pay-per-view option to Supporters for Hamilton (The club will communicate about the Brora match shortly). There are a few important things to note. The platform hosting PPV has nothing to do with anyother Hibernian account you may have and you need to register. To access the PPV details follow here - http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10755 (https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/QAR6CN88kC0JK6FLgD8N?domain=hibernianfc.co.uk)

______________________________

The clubstore has a new contact option for those that use twitter -@HibsClubstore - and Instagram and Facebook - @Hibernianclubstore - a handycontact option.

The adult Home Jersey is back IN STOCK and available to buy online and instore.

The Ticket Office has moved to opening in person between 10am-1pm every Friday - Any questions can still be directed to the helpful [email protected]

http://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/news/10741 (https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/4PmfCOZZYfplVOHM598S?domain=hibernianfc.co.uk)
______________________________

The Scottish Cup Semi Final has now been confirmed and scheduled for Saturday 31st October, with a 5pm kick-off at Hampden behind closed doors. The matchwill be live on BBC Scotland and Premier Sports.

KP - No fans is not what everyone associated with the club will have wanted but that is the hand that has been dealt and now it is time for the team to hit it straight on. Your backing and support from afar shouldn't be underestimated, I've seen a number of humbling words shared with the club from supporters recently and the energy that gives everyone at the club is massive.

Lewis Stevenson entered the top 5 of most appearances for Hibernian in September (487 - equalling Eddie Turnbull) 15 years since he made his debutaway to Ayr United in 2005 is a remarkable achievement in modern football. He is still going strong too. I've been told about countless stories fromsupporters of how he would go out of his way to do anything for them (and that would make that supporters day but he would never realise that, it's just what he does). Without doubt, the nicest, down to earth guy up at HTC, making sureanyone in that building is welcome.

Morning all,

I’ve posted an update for September here - https://tinyurl.com/y7znmapv

I’ll lift and drop the text into this forum too.

Keep doing what you do, here if you need me ✅

Thanks KP for the continued excellent updates.
I know I am not the only one but I am fairly tired of the constant, ill informed and unjustified attacks on the club that we seem to be having from Thomas English and the BBC sports team generally. Would there be any mileage in bringing that imposter of a “head of sports journalism” in to ER to have a clear the air with Leeann and or Ron? He clearly has a significant issue with Hibs and it might be an idea to find out what is at the root of it. Nothing the club does seems to escape being twisted in to a negative that can only be harmful to every aspect of our function as a company and a community based institution. Recent interviews seem only to have fuelled the fires and they do not appear to have the slightest concept of what LD’s role is in mitigating the affects of Covid on the Scottish game as a whole. Does the club have any plans to set the record straight?

Leeann seems to have attempted to set things straight about us signing players in an EEN article today.

It's a fair comment. Only my personal opinion here - Anyone with a set agenda against the club will always have it regardless of what Hibs have done and do. Those individuals and groups are entitled to their opinion, the tone won't change. So instead of getting involved with puppets masquerading as journalists Hibs should continue to provide open, honest and transparent communications to their support and the wider audience via responsible and reputable sources (much like H's link about recruitment update above). Most facts always come out in the wash.

Tom English is either very thick or he is waging a vendetta against Hibs. Either way, he is not qualified to do his job as BBC Scotland's chief sports writer. So no, I don't think he is entitled to spout these opinions.

Ewan Murray is usually the sole voice reporting on Scottish football for the Guardian - he shouldn't be entitled to his biased opinions either.

Leeann Dempster is engaged with looking at Scottish football's survival, and yet her words are deliberately twisted to make her look like a hypocrite. Ann Budge spuriously claimed that her bleating about Hearts' relegation was somehow not motivated by self-interest, and she is taken at her word.

It's both damaging and disgusting.

KP, first hope you and family are well made. Secondly your updates are flawless, a complete credit to the club tbh.

Can I suggest please a massive PPV media package in the build up to Halloween? The amount of money we must be going to lose because of no fans at Hampden is rotten and I’m sure, if really attractive we could really get something appealing to the support to try and make up for some of monies lost?

I’ve no idea what, but I do know a couple of brothers at the club that could hopefully make it happen 👌

KP My children's and their friends strips aren't being sent out until September. How did the club decide which 7000 would get theirs and more importantly which of us wouldn't. I presume you got yours ok?

I have just seen this, and that last comment is a massive foul, especially coming from someone who has made less than 3 posts a year on here since registering. If you looked in here more often you would have known what sort of person KP is and would have avoided embarrassing yourself and firing **** at a good guy in the process.

Happy to pass suggestions on. The Semi being on BBC Scotland and Premier Sports more than likely rules out any PPV option but the Marketing team have shown a lot of creativity to date they’ll definitely be thinking hard on how to get us worked up for it.

Yeah did think that mate, I wasn’t meaning the actual match I was thinking a special Hibernian build up/celebration (touch wood) for subscribers for a tenner or something. Just something out the box that we could smash cash at that we will miss because of the loss of fans at the game.

Maybe doesn’t make sense but I ken what I mean 😀

Less than a week since the 20 year flashback to the 6-2 game and the 29th anniversary of the Skol cup win against Dunfermline. If the Hibs side of today could take a bit of the class from 2000 and the belief from the team that wouldn't die we will definitely be on for some great times under this current resilient and confident bunch.

Leeann sent a thank you message to supporters at the start of the month - ”Players, staff, supporters have rallied - on the pitch and off it with season tickets, Hibernian Supporters donations and a host of other gestures. It's humbling. We;ve come out the transfer window with a smaller squad but careful player trading - in and out - has helped us add real quality. As long as supporters are happy, I'm happy. Our priority now is to get our supporters back home to Easter Road”.

The club are continuing to find ways to thank supporters (other than 3 points) and this will continue to be a focus - carving a deal for loyal Season Ticket Holders to watch the Brora match free, putting together the Semi final live show this Friday, fan competitions, initiatives and thank yous plus sharing heartwarming stories from supporters is just the start. Lot's going on, just keep plugged into the new Hibernian website and usual channels.

Everyone at Hibernian has the full backing, and more, from the support to succeed in the upcoming Scottish Cup Semi Final. This is an awesome responsibility for all of us representing Hibernian. Let's give everyone connected with the club, including the loyal supporters, a performance (on and off the field) they deserve.

The new Hibs website has been live for 2 weeks. The site is slick, dynamic and engaging. Brings us exactly where we need to be as a club. It's definitely going to be the one stop shop for everything.

Great work from the internal team and club partners, including whitespace. Work is still ongoing, as you'll see.

There will be an instruction piece shared with supporters shortly about creating an account on the new website to allow for single sign on - this functionality will be great for us from a user experience - linking tickets, clubstore and hibs tv to one new single online account. I'll help where possible but the club fully appreciates the need to keep those instructions simple.

Got to it from the link in the .net subscribed thread new entry email but as it picked up the ‘*’ at the end of the tiny url, that was only after I deleted that * in the browser url address field.

We’ve not taken all the opportunities presented to us since I last put out an update - and that’s frustrating - there is always room for improvements, more wins and playing the type of football we’ve seen in chunks this season so far and with 7 games in December (kind in opposition running order when compared against the last two years ) there is a big chance to really kick on into 2021. Let’s do it Hibs.

https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/club-statement-leeann-dempster

This week the club announced that Leeann Dempster will be leaving the club (remaining in role to ensure a smooth transition). Lots of great words passed on from supporters and players (current and former), better than anything I can add. Her leadership over the last 6 and a half years sets the club up perfectly for the next chapter and most importantly for future generations of Hibernian supporters. Thank you Leeann.

Leeann: “The club had been relegated when I joined, and I was determined – with the help of a terrific group of people – to rebuild and restore the club to make its supporters proud on and off the pitch. The Cup win was the highlight, of course, but there have been many fantastic moments.

“I think it is genuinely the right time, both for the club and for me, to move on to a new chapter. It has been an intense and fulfilling time of my life. I have grown to love the club and the Hibernian family, but the club is in good hands and has an exciting future ahead of it. I wanted to make sure Ron settled in following the transaction, and I think we have achieved that. I’ve enjoyed working with him and I have learned a lot in the process. Supporters should be optimistic and excited about Ron’s plans for the club’s future, and I know they will continue to support the club in the magnificent fashion that they have done during my time, especially during recent months when they absolutely stepped up when we most needed them.

“I thank every one of them for making this job such an enjoyable one. Now I look forward to the excitement of taking on a new challenge.”

Return to support route map

We all want fans back at Easter Road when it's safe to do so. The club has worked with great effort on a number of different plans to get ready for our return and it would be great to share some of these plans with supporters in a timely manner.

KP – I've also had a lot of feedback regarding performances of recent. I can't influence our results but I can certainly pass on supporter feelings & comments (positive and constructive) and continue to do so without edit.

https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/hibernian-fc-seal-strategic-partnership-with-charleston-battery

At the start of the month the club confirmed the formation of a strategic partnership with Charleston Battery, based in South Carolina in the US.

KP - The club stated earlier in the year (and again at the AGM in February) that they intended to enter into partnerships with different clubs to widen their network and this one is the first. Charleston are absolutely ecstatic to partner up with a club with such a fantastic history and brand as Hibernian. Hopefully some of our development players can take up learning in a completely different environment. The partnership extends our scouting network and opens up collaboration on other aspects too (sports science, marketing, ticketing, sponsorship, community engagement - always good to learn with new eyes).

Darren McGregor treasuring mentor role

https://www.hibeesbounce.com/attachments/24f9951b-34b9-4ccf-92cb-22b9dfb76854-jpeg.3826/

Darren McGregor spoke earlier in the month about loving the mentor role at the club. He also states his appreciation for pulling on the famous green and white jersey the older he gets, it means the world to him. Extract from his interview with Scott McDermott below.

“Sometimes as young men we may mask our feelings. But he (Nisbet) sees Hibs as a sanctuary, somewhere he can forget about his troubles.

“So I just said to him: ‘Look, I don’t want to make a big song and dance but I know how you’ll be feeling so I’ll be here if you need to talk.’

“I didn’t want to put any pressure on. I just wanted to let him know that I’d experienced it and I’ll be there for him.

“I’m sure every other guy in the dressing-room is the same. It’s just about being a human being and recognising when someone is going through a tough time after trauma in their life.
“You have to let them know you’re there. Especially when you get older, there’s a duty of care to some of the younger players.

“I remember what it was like at 24 and not being sure where to turn.

“As long as he knows the support is there, you don’t need to shove it down anyone’s throat.

“The reason I reached out is because I never really had that. Maybe I never looked for it.

“I was always a guarded person. I tended to keep my emotions quite close and, with hindsight, that maybe hurt me by not dealing with it.

“Credit to Nizzy for the way he has acted throughout and how mature he has been. It has been remarkable.”
“Football can help massively, that’s your release. I found that as well.
“Any bad news, you can leave outside because this is a sanctuary. The main thing for Kevin is to keep training well.

“His emotions might bubble up sometime – or never bubble over. It depends how he takes it.

“But as long as he knows there are guys in the changing room looking out for him.

“This could be the making of him. When you suffer trauma or difficult times you either use it as motivation, inspiration to go on and be successful, or you can let it destroy you.

“Knowing the character of Nizzy, I’m sure it will be the former and he’ll use his dad to motivate him for the rest of his career.”
“I don’t regret seeing out my career here because the chance I was given a year and a half ago was unbelievable.

“We were probably one of the first clubs in Scotland to offer contracts like this, where I have a responsibility to mentor and look after the young boys, helping them to develop.

“But as a footballer, I still feel I’ve got a lot to give as well.”

Could you mention that the East Stand / North stand need power washed or some advertising / Hibs branding added to it.

It’s a popular route to travel past and often some people’s 1st view of the stadium.

I know it’s not essential but thought I would mention and see if it could be improved.

We're playing well at the moment - team stats circulating on the web (shot per game/on target, possession, defence resilience compared against our competitors is very strong) and the individual player stats the club has been circulating regularly on social channels - is all very positive. Back to a 'normal' transfer window I believe and we've put ourselves in a great position to make things happen. Some big games coming up, including a Semi Final in January (Sat 23rd January). Keep at it Hibs.

Sharpen Hibs TV
Some supporters - at home (via our different platform offerings) and international fans - have flagged service interruptions (visual or audio) intermittently at a handful of games recently. Continue to provide supporters the best service as possible at all times.

KP – There is sometimes a lot we can't control with the stream, and instances of bad luck too, but there is always the opportunity to sharpen the product with our digital partners, controlling what we can to ensure we provide the best service to our loyal supporters.

Stenhousemuir strategic partnership agreed - Hibernian FC (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/stenhousemuir-strategic-partnership-agreed)

KP - Following hot on the heels of the Charleston Battery link up in November, we have another, this time closer to home with Stenhousemuir. Another brick in the player development pathway. Good insight from Graeme in the article above.

Another good away win yesterday - on the back of an improved midweek showing. It’s no surprise that coincides with Darren being back in the team. New faces finding their feet too.

Scott Allan spoke to the press during week about the team letting the fans down by not doing the basics and the right things last Saturday. He’s absolutely right - there will be periods in football and games when things aren’t going to go the way you want or maybe expect. You need to be mentally strong and always battle to the end. The way the semi-final was surrendered was not good enough.
Everyone at the club is expected to show leadership, ownership and demand high performance. Up to everyone to stand up. No more throwing away opportunities, stop getting the same outcomes in big games.

There has been a lot of progress this season, positives to take heart from and still lots to play for. While we didn't get what we wanted recently your support has been incredible. Keep doing what you do – thanks for feeding back, thanks for engaging, thanks for being resilient and keep backing the team on the park.

I would like to update you on what I’ve brought to the board’s attention on behalf of supporters

Working with Hibernian Supporters
Recent collaboration appreciated.

KP – Lots of great work from both sides recently - The creativity, communication and desire from all involved at Hibernian Supporters. And the promotion in match programmes, HibsTV adverts, social media and mail drop from the club. Resource is very tight in this environment so all efforts are appreciated.

Recent Form
The club and supporters demand high standards and performances at home, and Hampden, need to be better.

CEO search
This is ongoing (prioritising making the right choice over a quick decision). Club is very content we have the right people in the right places to continue successfully interim.

———

Pitch
Club is aware of feedback. Colin Fraser gave an update on the Match a couple of weeks back. A combination of games, poor weather and reduced maintenance because of COVID having a massive impact. The pitch is a lot better than it was because of Colin’s hard work but now aesthetically poorer as a result. Close season will sort that.

Fantastic work from Hibs.net members raising a substantial amount for the above cause. A further commitment of sponsoring Jackson Irvine to end of season should be noted too. Outstanding work too by North East Scotland Hibees, East Lothian Hibs and St.Giles branches on this mission.

I've done this privately, but I just wanted to make public my appreciation and thanks to Kieran for help in sorting out an issue that I've had with the Club for about 18 months.

It wasn't a big deal in the great scheme of things, but was proving an emotional strain for my family. KP got involved a couple of months ago, and sorted it out efficiently and quickly. :top marks

I should also mention Chris Gaunt, who is the relatively new Head of Finance at the Club. His help was also much appreciated.

Afternoon all,

Optimism is now building for the way out of the crisis that is affecting everyday life. Stick in and the summer will be here before we know it - Back to Easter Road. Always available if you need me for anything [email protected]

Three very good wins in February, scoring two in each, was spoiled a bit by a frustrating afternoon yesterday at home against Motherwell. We're in a good place, third, four points clear of Aberdeen and have a game in hand. Point to prove in the games before the split that we can close out the season positively.January closed off since I last posted - the Squad strengthened and a number of bids for players were rejected. Fantastic news last week that Joe Newell and Josh Doig committed their future to the club until 2023 and 2025 respectively. The squad is always in review and contract negotiations are ongoing with others at the moment, whilst also assessing where we might want to strengthen and upgrade with player recruitment (European football next season would put extra demand on our squad).

Future Supporter Representation on the Board

This is my 23rd month at the club (time flies) and it is time to start planning future supporter representation at Hibs. I've agreed to continue my role until the end of season to allow for a better window to review the next supporter representation on the club's board.

Scott's in-depth interview on the 19th of February was very powerful stuff- https://youtu.be/IURhRCKBZu8 - Scott is not only a fantastic and talented footballer but he is a brilliant ambassador for Hibernian. He is superb with supporters, especially our younger ones that look up to him - I've a long list of examples of great engagement between Scott and young fans.Scott Allan: I feared I wouldn't play again - Hibernian FC (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/scott-allan-i-feared-i-wouldnt-play-again)

The virtual card of support from fans was shared with Scott (Thanks to Graeme Mathie and Kenny Millar). Scott was really moved by the gesture and to all that have got in touch with messages of support. He sends his deepest thanks to all Hibernian supporters.

One of the greatest examples of perseverance? Most probably.

Season Tickets 2021/22

Club will soon be in a position to release season tickets for next season, providing a great deal of flexibility. Signs are very promising on next season being one much like normal.

KP - Josh Doig's comments this week hit home - "For my first goal as well, there being no fans to cheer is a bit of a downer ... all the messages I've had on social media this season, it's why I'm so desperate for the fans to come back"

———

Food Kiosks

The look and feel, including new products, are being finalised for our return.

———

Scottish Cup extension

Looking more than likely that the Scottish Cup will carry on into next season for the second year in a row - SFA very keen to complete the tournament as before.

Do you know if there will be more healthier options available at the food kiosks ? Would be good if so and link in with FFIT and obviously promoting healthy living. It’s been so long since we have been at ER - were they using card payments also ? I’m sure they introduced this ??!

Finally think the club can do more on green initiatives and recycling etc. Even increased education for fans at the stadium and a local community clean up would show the club cares about the local environment.

Not aware of the exact offerings myself but it sounds sensible to have a healthier option within the offerings. The club is now in control of what products are on offer moving forward, so room to test different things out to test take-up.

Cashless payments will be an option moving forward with SportingPay a key partner (some supporters will have noticed they have been match sponsors at points this season - including Saturday there).

Expecting a bigger focus on the greenest club in Scotland within club operations in the return to normality and resources go back to before. That message is labelled high on top of the East Stand.

If someone’s trying to get healthier, managing to go 2 hours without eating would be a good start 😂

Please make sure there’s still plenty **** foot for us fatties as well please 😉

Any word on Dempsters replacement KP? I know you won’t be able to give me any names but would be good to get an idea if we’re close to replacing her or not.

With season ticket sales coming up it’d be good to know who I moan to that it’s costing too much 😉

Great question - still the same position as last month, the existing management team will see us through to near season end before an appointment is made. A very long list of exciting and talented individuals for the club to work through.

To be fair skipping meals is not often advised to lose weight - some folk gone straight to the stadium from work so some sort of healthy option shouldn’t be out the question.

I’m not even sure if they offer a single healthy option on the menu - even some fruit and decent snacks would help.

There are loads of amazing bakeries on Easter Road and near Leith Walk serving good coffee and other options - Ok not for everyone but they do seem very popular.

Regarding LD replacement - that is an off one..nearly 4 months now and we haven’t got a replacement ??!

He certainly has, and we’ve had a few good ones. Big Frank was always helpful to me on a one to one basis, that was his style

Yep, Frank was the ‘old school’ who preferred face to face activity.

Didn’t suit us 12000 kilometres away, and I whinged to him about that, but nothing could dampen his enthusiasm for the club, and he can look back on his time on the board with pride.

Hopefully some vegan options on the menu. It's growing rapidly in the UK. Probably won't need much additions, Fruit Pastilles are now vegan, Cadbury Bournville chocolate is vegan and readily available, a sachet of plant based milk for tea and coffee's, Walkers Ready Salted, Salt & Vinegar are vegan. The only "specialist" product you're gonna need to add is a few frozen pies.

Also surely next season is the time to get the standing section on the goal behind the goal? Mental that a rugby stadium in Edinburgh (Edinburgh's new one) has more standing places (around 2000) than Easter Road despite the capacity being about 13000 less than ER.

That is a weird one, I stopped eating it because it says on their website not suitable for someone with a milk allergy. But looking at the ingredients list there is no milk/dairy in it. Possibly down to the risk of cross contamination within their factory. A bit like Bisto, it is essentially a vegan product (no animal products used) but it is made in a factory that deals with a lot of meat and therefore cannot be certified vegan. I would love it if we could get a vegan pie but I have had so many disappointments when it comes to vegan them, maybe the Ginster Vegan pasties would be a good idea, they are delicious. Got a vegan pie at Killie once and it was pretty gross, undercooked and tasteless.

Presumably providing such a bespoke offering will need to be cost effective. Expect to pay over the odds to ensure that this is not a loss making exercise.

Being vegan you sorta get used to paying over the odds for processed vegan food, nae meat in vegan sausages but they are 2 to 3 times more expensive than meat bangers. Ginsters probably isn't a goer but there will be options out there. Veganism and Vegetarianism are growing rapidly, especially in the younger generations, so it would be good to have vegan options available.

Decent ideas.

It would have been perfect time to install standing behind the FF goal. Would even help with social distancing etc and be a way Hibs could use the extra time to reallocate any fans who were affected / put the kids section in West Lower or South Lower for Cat B games.

Some seats in FF lower are worn and need replaced so why waste money doing that when an exciting new part of the ground can be open when fans return.

Doesn't need to be overly bespoke. I got 4 frozen vegan "sausage rolls" at Iceland for £1.50. I'm sure Hibs and their caterers could get them even cheaper than 37.5p per unit and still make a tidy profit when they flog them at over two quid.

Good point. I think for things to be classed as vegan they need to be certified as such. IE no cross contamination, probably can't be owned by a company who sells anything to China who might do animal testing on it. Guess an easier way would to be to call it a "Plant-based" menu then its upto the individual if they want to go for it. Personally having a vegan pukka pie (very good BTW) thats been cooked in the same oven as the mince pies wouldn't bother me in the slightest but I guess for the hardcore out their it would be a no go.

I get the thinking behind "it's only 90 minutes, people can go without a snack" argument however I think this is where football in general let's itself down compared to other sports.

It should feel like a day out, we should be encouraging people to arrive early and have a drink (obviously alcohol ban hampers this) and make the whole experience something families can enjoy. Plant based diets are more and more common so should be accommodated.

Likewise having screens in the foyers and a big screen pitch side showing some of the YouTube content rather than just a playlist of old tunes over a rickety tannoy would add to the overall feel. That's fine for hardened fans but you don't want the next generations to feel like going to the game is a chore.

Murray Milligen's picture earlier in the month captured Easter Road in all it's beauty. I'm more than hopeful the stadium will be glowing more than we know it on our return -

This month has passed in a bit of blur. Hibs have now won more away games this season (10) than they did in the entirety of last season both home and away. The club have never won eleven top flight away games in one season. Two away fixtures left to do it. I'm greedy. I want them both, especially our next away league fixture. No reason why we canny'.

Notice was received recently that the club AGM is being held next Wednesday, 7th April, at 3pm. Our annual accounts were also released. The club is in a good position to come out of the other end of COVID from a combination of quick action and tremendous backing from supporters through season ticket sales.

That backing won't be forgotten about.

Jack Ross commented after our win in Ross County - "We know supports have committed to the club this year with no reward in terms of being in the stadium. So, for us, there's a drive to get the club into Europe. That hopefully coincides with getting people back in."

Taken from the letter to shareholders - “Your Board and I would like to thank all those who supported the Club during the 19/20 season, especially in view of the challenges imposed on the Club and football in general by the Covid-19 pandemic. We are particularly grateful to our season ticket holders, the players and coaching staff, and the entire team at Hibernian FC for their tireless work behind the scenes to help the Club navigate the public health and financial challenges of the ongoing pandemic. Gratefully, the vaccine programme combined with the restrictions of recent months are bringing the pandemic under control, and the outlook for football in 2021 is starting to look brighter. We believe that in the foreseeable future we will be able to welcome you back to Easter Road. That will be a very special and wonderful day for us all.”

Squad has eyes on the prize for finishing the season as strong as possible. Genuine belief they can seal 3rd and go the next step in the Scottish Cup after three semi final appearances in the last three cup competitions (new Scottish Cup dates can be found here (https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/202021-scottish-cup-to-resume-in-march/?rid=2107)).

______________________________

I’ve been working with the club on a number points recently - providing direct feedback from supporters. The club has been fantastic considering all verbatim sent on.

Improvements to Hibs TV - short term and long term.

Recognising Supporter loyalty in 2020 and 2021 - the backing Hibs fans have shown the last 12 months has been extraordinary and it's recognising that for next seasons offering and beyond (Season Tickets should be released in April, especially now we have a stronger understanding of where we're going as a country from late summer onwards).

Club Content - The club has worked with a hand behind it's back for some time because of the COVID landscape (restrictions and resources available). We're now coming out the other end of this and will start to see a ramp up in this space. Recent recruitment completed and more happening.

KP thanks for a a great job?

Any idea when elections for fans directors are due to take place? Think you were elected in March 2019, so we’re behind

Also after Tracey left, we’ve only got one place on the board now, rather than 2 before. Are we going back to 2 places

Good question Billy. I've agreed to continue my role until the end of season to allow for a better window to review the next supporter representation on the club's board - a lot going on just now - preparing for next year on and off the pitch, AGM next week and new CEO incoming early summer (along. with other new staff).

End of season/Summer allows a better opportunity for change. A supporter voice/representation is important and noted strongly in the clubs governance model. Will we move back to 2 elected - I don’t think so.

At this time of year in the football world important issues such as becoming champions, winning trophies, qualifying for Europe and relegation/expulsion are all focused on.
The outstanding support from the Hibs fans has allowed the club to be competitive from the word go in 2020/21 (thank you) - The team haven’t been out of the top 4 in the league all season. I can’t think of a better way to thank the supporters (and close off the most surreal periods in most of our lives) than by bringing the oldest trophy in world football back home to Leith. Embrace the stress of the run in and thrive under pressure to do the job. Time for new heroes.

March was fairly light. So it is only right to balance that out with an action packed April - AGM, Some great performances, Season Ticket release and more.

_____

AGM

The club thanked the supporters who stepped up in one of most challenging years most can remember. There was also thanks to the staff at Easter Road, the football department and HSL & many supporters who contributed financially to the club.

There was time to look back at the sporting performance of reaching the latter stages of cups, revamping the squad with a younger, smaller and balanced feel. Looking back towards the business performance - 11,000 season tickets, reduced the operating costs, launched a new website, commercial growth, New PA system and new initiatives: Greenest club in Scotland and Thank You NHS.

Looking forward - European Football, Continue to invest & improve the first team, Reinvest & improve the Development Squad and appoint a new CEO. Building on the new PA system already completed there was talk of further investments off the park - new screens, updating the tired stadium, hospitality improvements and focus on the pitch straight after the last home game of the season. Social Media platforms will be upgraded, more creative ticketing products and launch of Hibs membership programme

Final note to all was everyone is indispensable and necessary to our success. Building on our Season Ticket numbers to help continue our momentum is key.

Return to Stadia

May and June is going to give us a great indication of where we might start from come August (crazy to say there is no certainty with something that is only just over 3 months away).

Currently Scottish Government protection level advice states:

[*=left]Outdoor seated and open space events are advised to operate with a maximum capacity of 2,000 people.

[*=left]Outdoor grouped standing events are advised to operate with a maximum capacity of 1,000 people.

[*=left]Seated indoor events are advised to operate with a maximum of 400 people.

At the minute the club is to work towards plans of 2m social distancing. The club is confident it can get more than 2,000 into Easter Road safely and following guidance.

The process (at the time of writing/moment) is if we want more than 2,000, we need to apply to the local authority, and if we want more than 5,000, that goes to Scottish Government for approval.

I expect a lot to change between now and August/September/October but that's where we're currently at.

You are right. But the same guy that retweeted about Prince Phillip has "done it again".

Thanks for the update. Just a quick question on recognising supporter backing. Is that a general recognition of all fans or does it relate to HSL? HSL has provided a lot of money to the club over lockdown periods with little recognition and to be fair little recognition has been asked for. However, I don't even recall the Club acknowledging the donations or saying how the money was used. HSL do this for the Club, not the recognition, but personally I think some sort of 2 way acknowledgement/dialogue would be nice.

Fair shout. I was meaning all supporters.

From my time at the club I do know HSL have been acknowledged in various interviews and articles, including on our website (example - https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/hibernian-supporters-close-in-on-1-million-mark), social media and promotions within the match programme. More recently there has been a thank you at the AGM but the biggest acknowledgment is probably endorsing the HSL kit, with supporters names on it, as our third kit last season. I do appreciate some supporters would like a bit more acknowledgment though.

Did we say anything to sevco regarding lack of tickets, or did we just accept their stance?

Rangers are aware of our annoyance at no tickets. Since then we have been working hard to find an alternative way for supporters to watch and made the beamback a reality, which Rangers had to agree to.

Apologies if this has already been discussed.

I was in the West Upper for the first time tonight for the Hibernian Ladies game. I noticed there was a quote from Lawrie Reilly “I was born a Hibee and I’ll die a Hibee”.

It looked fantastic in white on the green paint. Is there anything else similar planned as part of the stadium improvements? I think more of the same would add to the overall feel of the stadium. There could either be more quotes from club legends, perhaps the words to Sunshine on Leith the full length of a stand or murals such as David Gray celebrating in the Scottish Cup Final.

It would be a complete win for the clubs social media and if there were a number of murals the amount of fans posting pictures on social media would be a real positive for growing the club image and would bring a real sense of pride as fans enter the stadium.

Something I've noticed...do we actually have Easter Road or Easter Road Stadium anywhere displayed in large font at the stadium? Would be good o get more signage on the stand inside or out.

The club should look into rebuilding the old entrance at the west / south corner of the stadium and getting rid of the horrible green metal walls that are there at present.

Don't know how much it would cost to do but I think it would be worthwhile for the aesthetic value that it would add to the exterior of the stadium?

These green walls act as a security barrier to separate us from the hoards of Celtic/Rangers/Hearts fans and any other various casuals from Aberdeen or whoever.

Some lovely large iconic gates with various Hibee references/symbols, similar to Annfield or Ibrox would be amazing but because of the nature of our stadium layout might not be possible.

KP. Has any consideration been made to opening the south stand to Hibernian supporters only for the visit of Celtic and Rangers? Why should we allow them to have the backing of their fans at our stadium when they don't reciprocate? A full stand of away fans behind the goals gives them an advantage that we wouldn't get at Celtic Park and Ibrox. A few supporters on here have mentioned free/reduced price tickets for children for the south stand. Think this is a great idea.

Tried that, would not let me. Contacted ticket office and they confirmed only for season ticket holders. Now I am definitely confused

The club should look into rebuilding the old entrance at the west / south corner of the stadium and getting rid of the horrible green metal walls that are there at present.

Don't know how much it would cost to do but I think it would be worthwhile for the aesthetic value that it would add to the exterior of the stadium?
I agree 100%. Could be done as an entrance to east stand at North Stand end. Could have Harp shaped plaques on it for departed ex players managers owners etc.

There are 100,000 reasons why that won't happen.

As nice and romantic as that idea may be, and it would be nice, it would be a waste of scarce resources as it would bring in no extra income.

The big screens and the proposed ribbons will pay for themselves. A false entrance would cost tens of thousands and would create nothing.

Could get some brickies to volunteer to build and fans to buy a brick. Fans names could be displayed on the Brick. Could actually raise some money.

I agree. The noise - and the endless litany of sectarian songs - made by them is not only highly offensive but can influence officials and provides their teams with an undue level of backing.

This reduced considerably when we restricted them to only half of the South Stand in seasons past. That stand is designed to allow a 50/50 split so why don't we restrict them to half to begin with?

The potential loss of income will surely be partly balanced by the additional tickets bought by our fans - and also by making our experience so much better as we won't be subjected to sectarian bile in and around the stadium.

We're not going to provide the "WOW" factor or give our support the safe and secure inclusive environment we seek when we continue to open our doors to sectarianism. This might be tough on the non-sectarian element within both sets of supporters but until the undesirable element is removed that's the price they should have to pay.

I'd still give up the whole stand to our Edinburgh neighbours - they reciprocate appropriately - and to be fair, their song book is so limited it's not too difficult to deal with.

You could argue the same about installing white chairs to spell out HFC in the east. I think the time for the red wall is gone but I like the idea of gates which capture parts of our history and I will support anything that makes our home more Hibs and captures our amazing history.

Hi Kieran - I'd like to bring a couple of my posts from other threads to your attention, for consideration. First being comments on the big screens (which are really good despite my points!):

Match stats: would love to see shots on target, off target, corners, fouls etc etc flash up from time to time. Hopefully just a matter of copying off the BBC?
To that end, stick the scorer names below the score as well, ala at Hampden.
Live score updates: I get that advertisers will have paid for in-game slots but I would really like to see some sort of ticker - on the bottom of the screen, or maybe even half? - showing us updates from the other Scottish games (not just the Premiership!)
Half-time scores - this has been a personal gripe of mine for years now even before the screens were installed. PLEASE show us the Scottish Championship, League One, Two scores. I honestly care about them more than that Crystal Palace are drawing 0-0 with Burnley or whatever. By all means show the EPL scores too, but c'mon, this is Scotland, show our results! Would also like to see the scores for longer than half a minute before ads come back on, but again, appreciate people have likely paid good money and you need to recoup the investment.

And secondly (though a long shot), on the issue of the OF not giving us away tickets, and potential reciprocal action:

We should publicly come out and say that no Hibs fans at Parkhead and Ibrox means no OF fans at Easter Road.

Sell the South Stand tickets at a cut price to schools or let fans donate the cost of a ticket to the club.

They can have a beamback to Parkhead/Ibrox if they want, or we cut their allocation to a quarter. I'm sick of them treating us like an irrelevance while they get to rock up with a full stand at ER and sing **** that would be banned in any other country with zero consequence. Fully prepared to take (and compensate for) any financial hit that would come our way for this, as I'm sure many other fans would be.

The West's a good bit bigger than it used to be and I think the back of it is more or less where the old wall was. The green fencing could maybe be changed for something less 'industrial", but I don't think there's room at that end for any fancy gates or anything.

I'm not opposed to all that beautification, but it's not the best use of the gate money.

The white seats are being necessarily installed because the green ones are in disrepair, as far as I know so they're taking the opportunity to Hibsify.

We're sitting 2nd in the league and we're lucky if 10,000 are actually attending games at the moment. Home games v the Old Firm are rarely well attended in the home stands. You're not living in reality if you think Hibs fans will pick up the slack from the lost revenue, and the club said previously they'd be more than willing to give less tickets to the Old Firm if we were able to fill the ground ourselves. We managed a couple of times under Lennon but then ended up losing money when we tried it again the season after.

I don't think it's fair to be putting pressure on the board to even consider losing money for no real reason- to waste their time even having to explain why it's a no goer. Even if they agreed to it we'd end up being embarrassed and looking totally stupid.

Be lovely to have 18,500 Hibs fans cheering the team on and drowning out the bigots but it's not going to happen at the moment for whatever reason. Wrong time to be turning down guaranteed money when every penny is probably a prisoner.

At the moment we've 12,000+ home fans attending and we've not yet hosted any of the top 5. We'll sell out all the derby games and if we continue with our league form I'm confident we would have an additional 4,000 of our home support turning up to watch the Glasgow team games. Our new ticket initiative is targeting these packages.
Reducing the bile from the away end gives us an advantage on the pitch and will provide an atmosphere that will encourage better ticket sales.
Our best asset for ticket sales is a winning team. This gives us a better chance to develop that asset.

It's a great notion but like I say it's just ignoring reality and visual evidence at the moment. I wonder if those advocating we give up hundreds of thousands of pounds will be the same ones going nuts during the transfer window when we're not signing players left, right and centre?

We'd all love for there not to be Rangers and Celtic fans at ER but we just are not in a position to turn away 3800 guaranteed paying customers at any game just now.

Even if we had 12,000 fans attending at the moment (which we don't) we'd actually need a further 6,000 to make up for the Old Firm even having their allocation cut in half. No chance.

But we have over 13000 who have paid, that is a major difference to your 10000 in attendance statement. We might not sell out the South stand but let’s give it a go. We could reduce their allocation to 1500 which would make a huge difference

KP, is there any reason why the beamback is season ticket holder’s only? I tried to buy tickets for my sister and brother in law who for various reasons cannot get season tickets this year. Seems like a missed income possibility for Hibs fans on our database

I did ask if a general sale would be possible, not on this occasion but I’m hoping this event on Sunday will be a success to offer future opportunities to all.

Away fans aren't a part of League football at Parkhead or Ipox this season and that is the point for me. They have a sporting advantage. I'd love to see Hibs trying to do the same. We have plenty time as we play Celtc at home first so don't need to retaliate and the next The Thes game is a while away at ER. Why not challenge fans to go fund us to not have the Huns at ER.

Hibs and Hearts Legends To Compete in Charity Match on World Mental Health Day

Hibees are invited to come down to Ainslie Park on World Mental Health Day - Sunday 10th October - to watch legends from Edinburgh’s rival clubs battle it out, to raise vital funds to support local people in taking care of their mental health.
The match has been arranged by the team at Leith’s Utilita Energy Hub, Hibernian Community Foundation, and the Big Hearts Community Trust. It is the first time that both charitable arms of the Edinburgh football clubs, Hibernian FC and Heart of Midlothian FC - will come together on the same pitch. The game is being powered by Utilita Energy - the energy company chosen by over 10,000 Scottish households, today.
Every year, the 10th October is a reminder that one in three people will experience mental health issues at some point in their life. Using the power of football, this friendly Edinburgh derby aims to help reduce the stigma and shine a spotlight on support available.
The charity teams, captained by Gary Locke and John “Yogi” Hughes will kick off at 4pm at Ainslie Park.

November has passed in a blur despite only three games this month. It’s been a long time since we were at home and I’m sure, like me, you’re looking forward to getting back to Easter Road regularly throughout December. We have a lot of activities coming up - Hibs Kids, NHS Thank You Day, Inclusion events, cash bucket and food bank collections for those in need plus more. The Green Machine on the rollercoaster continues, get along and back the team as you always do.

The semi-final win in November was massive (what a feeling - The Best Images From Hampden here (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/the-best-images-from-hampden)) but not a surprise given our record against Glasgow Rangers and The Rangers at Hampden over many years. That sets Hibernian up for their sixth cup final in the last decade. The League cup final is a huge (aren’t they all!) but more so as a defining one in a surreal period of time for all Hibernian fans. It’s all to play for and we have every chance. Not to be missed.

There is a lot of Hibs fans who are concerned they are not going to get tickets and I’m not happy that situation has been created for them by poor governance from the SPFL and Hampden Stadium authorities. The initial ticket allocation from the SPFL, using their own independent judgement, is serious error in many ways, but especially for sporting integrity. The authorities have definitely underestimated the Hibernian support, which reaches near and far. A 50/50 split should always be the correct starting point for ticket distribution for a national cup final. This should be the case for any side that makes the final without exception, with unsold tickets then offered to the other side after a certain date. The club has communicated it is fighting for more tickets - we've today announced we've secured extra tickets (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/extra-premier-sports-cup-final-tickets-allocated). Thanks to supporters that have made their voices heard to those that govern our game.

Last month I spoke about a couple of initiatives I’m owning - Tribute to Absent Friends at the end of the season and the refurbishment and installation of the Hibs 100 board. Another is highlighting we’re an inclusive football club. Here at Hibernian, we are welcoming of supporters from all backgrounds and we want all supports to feel confident and safe attending Easter Road because football, and Hibs, is for everyone. We’re proud to announce plans to form a Hibs LGBTQ+ Supporters Group. (https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/hibernian-to-launch-lgbtq-supporters-group) Look out for formation of different supporter networks to help create communities within the Hibs fanbase.

Thanks for that.

Can you please seek clarification from the club with regards to stewarding/policing on Wednesday night?

Not only was the Rangers end clearly over-full, but they were allowed to set off flares and sing offensive, sectarian songs throughout with impunity.

Furthermore, upon the conclusion of the match, Hibs fans were held for THIRTY FIVE MINUTES on Albion Place before the barriers were removed.
1) Why did the club allow the home fans to be the ones held behind?
2) Why weren’t the barriers, at the very least, put in the same place as they were for the Celtic game (just after the turn off for the Bothwell St bridge on Albion Road), to allow Hibs fans to get to Easter/London time in a timely fashion?

This caused an enormous bottleneck of increasingly angry Hibs fans which will also have greatly upset the residents of the flats we were forced to congregate outside of.
The stock response of “just go down St.Clair St” is a completely unacceptable answer - this constitutes a significant detour/delay for the fittest of Hibs fans but is also simply not possible for many fans with mobility issues etc.
This will also have resulted in many Hibs fans missing buses/trains etc for no good reason.

All this whilst our neighbours across the city have slashed Rangers’ ticket allocation - we, once again, give them freedom of Leith!

Everything we’ve been hearing from the new owner has been about the need to improve the “matchday experience” - time to prove it. (and not just with big screens)

The stock response of “just go down St. Mary’s St” is a completely unacceptable answer - this constitutes a significant detour/delay for the fittest of Hibs fans but is also simply not possible for many fans with mobility issues etc.

Thanks for that, really appreciated. I’ve got a long list of notes from the game to pick up and feedback. The stewarding one was really poor on Wednesday (polite phrase) in multiple places for different reasons and needs urgently addressed for those type of fixtures.

Regarding the barriers on Albion Road - This has been fed back before many times over many years. It's one that frustrates the life out of me for all Category A games but admit there is no easy solution for spectator and community safety. Police Scotland control that one with club input.

Our ground positioning, surrounding streets layout and stadium access/exit doesn't help in this scenario. Police Scotland are focused on avoiding serious flashpoints and clashes on the middle of Easter Road itself - a very real possibility if both set of supporters allowed to use Albion Terrace/Albion Road near the same time, probably more so in a fixture like Wednesday rather than Celtic/Hearts.

The longstanding operation the police follow is diverting away supporters up to Regent Road and London Road as quickly as possible via Albion Terrace and diverting Hibs fans the opposite direction via St.Clair Street which creates a delay.

I'll keep pushing for an alternative which removes the inconvenience of barriers on Albion Road at all Category A games but would ultimately mean an inconvenience control elsewhere.

I doubt if Hibs make any decisions with regards to barriers etc.

I imagine that's a question for Police Scotland.

Keen to hear the clubs position on this as well. We’re treated like dogs in Glasgow, why should we be at our home ground as well?

Hundreds of Hibs fans crowded together during Covid times, not great.

I totally get the need for segregation, the way its implemented winds me up though.... exactly as you say... we are held back or whatever to allow them to disperse at ibrox... and then at home WE are the ones that are inconvenienced AGAIN... it just totally builds on the narrative that the Uglies get preferential treatment (either because the authorities 'like' them or, more likely, they just feel they're too much effort to keep under control)

Can't we keep them in for 30 minutes like they do to us?

What about sending away fans the Meadowbank Retail path way? Would that be possible ?

Can there be some movement on actively trying to improve atmosphere at the stadium - especially FF lower - trying to make an area which is sold out every week and improve atmosphere. Maybe fan survey or similar.

Also posted on ticket thread that ticketmaster isn’t an issue but some times buying tickets online needs to be easier and more clear - various log ins and even the cup final graphic used wasn’t very easy to find alongside bus packages etc.

Finally I know it’s probably SPFL issue but very frustrating that fans were buying single tickets for Hibs section then better seats together become available and still becoming free - surely sell best seats 1st (then release the rest (obviously debentures played a part I know that).

Thanks for continued updates also.

Not really. The idea is to get them away from the area as quickly as possible. You can be sure that if we held them back our own idiots would be waiting for them.
I don’t like that we have the barriers up but I can see why it’s regarded as the best way to police things.

Given how narrow the path is round round the back of the retail park, I doubt that would be allowed.

The alternative would be to send them over the Bothwell St bridge, but I'm not sure if the police consider that safe, as it's also quite narrow.

I think the biggest issue is the time it takes them to open the barriers again, as 30 minutes seems more than a little excessive.

Why is it that other Ultra sections in the away stand are placed in the bottom but when it comes to the UB they are placed at the top in a area not policed by police or stewards?

Were there any outputs from those Fans Focus meetings last month?
I’m a tad bemused at the purpose of them.

No?

I’m told those running the session were happy with what supporters provided them on the day. This will help the commercial and marketing teams at the club.

On the clubs radar that one. Nothing immediate but certainly a future focus. Will share more when I can.

Agree about the poor process and seating frustration the SPFL have caused.

No knowledge if that’s the case LB but happy to pass on thoughts to the Operations team at the club ✅

That makes no sense whatsoever. From a safety and dispersal point of view the sooner they are in their busses and out the area the better for everyone.

If I’d known it was purely market research I’d have been less than keen to get involved but I hope they got something out of it.

It’s up to the away club how they distribute tickets. The GB obviously ask for tickets in the lower tier and the UB ask for the upper tier as close to the home fans as possible. It the same as when we had Since 1875 they would request a certain amount of tickets together for an away game.

Is that correct that these meetings were recorded? Can these recording be shared with the fans so we can see what was talked about?

Someone’s pulling yer leg on that one HC. This was an informal marketing fact-finding exercise using supporter insight without club representation at the meeting - no minutes or recording.

There was definitely a sound recording of the session I attended, the hosts requested this to assist with their notes.
No talk about ground sharing with anyone. Mind you if there had been it would’ve made it more interesting.

Not sure you’ve got a grasp on what these meetings comprised of, there were no exciting strategies discussed. The session I attended was more about the club and it’s raison d’etre. Listening to it from the outside would be extremely boring.

Was told about meeting, 2 PR guys, 1 English 1 American. Meeting was recorded in audio format.

American brought up the subject of groundsharing. Talked abouts clubs getting £30m from selling respective grounds, then a new stadium could be lit up in club colours, depending who was at home.

Strange for them to mention it, if it hadn't already been mooted internally?

First part sounds like the session I was at.

Second sentence, no. I’d probably have left. The discussion was all about heritage, inspiration, mindset, mission stating and some bollocks.
