I bet there's lots of personal ones, maybe less generic ones although there are two I always remember.
Mark Twain, I think "...Politicians and diapers should be changed often, for the same reason"
There's another one I think was by Clinton, but it sounds like it could have been older, something like "...Being president is like being in charge of a cemetery - you've lots of people under you but no one is listening"
And the personal one I remember is Herbert Morrison spearing Clement Attlee "...a modest man, with much to be modest about"
EDIT - not sure if the last one was Morrison actually, but bordering on Wildean anyway :greengrin

The Tory government is much like a rainbow.
It may look good from a distance but on closer inspection it has no real substance, you can see right through it and it's only there because of the sun.
