Andy Murray faces a tough end to the tournament this year if he's to win Wimbledon for a second time.
He faces Mikhail Kukushkin in round one then probably Robin Haase in the second round, Andreas Seppi in the third round, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the last 16, Rafael Nadal in the quarter finals,...
Not seen a thread for this as yet so lets get it started.
Whats everyone hopes and plans for the coming year??
I am hoping to get down to a cat 1 golfer only 0.4 from it just now and to try and get out and play a bit more
I will be playing the turnhouse 7 day open again its a great week...
Going Thursday and Friday on the hospitality
Bets placed already £25 e/w on Jordan Spieth @ 13/2; and £25 e/w (free bet) on Oosthuizen @ 25 /1
I'm going to see them for the first time on Friday, has anyone been before? What should I expect in terms of crowds etc? Do you pay at the turnstiles like football or do they have a ticket office?
Thoughts on this everyone?
I think Aus will win but got good odds on drawn series so stuck a small bet on it. Was at the cricket at Yorkshire the other day but don't have a ticket for the Ashes.
Now that all the places have been taken up I Thought it would be better to start a new thread with this.
The Draft: The draft will be an offline draft made on this thread and i will input the players into the appropriate teams once the draft is complete. I think the draft will be the most...
Some good deals here.
England currently 180-4, Root 104, another fine batting display from the young man.
Used to love watching this guy playing for the Racers. Stunned he's still been playing at that age!
Meant to post this earlier. Did anyone see this fight at the weekend? I've just watched the highlights and it's bizarre to say the least!
well done gary anderson rumoured to be one of us winning the world darts title.:flag::top marks
whos looking forward to the season on both accounts then?? What are peoples tips on Play-off contenders and overall winners? Is?
I feel i dont know the teams very well but i will be biased go for The Packers making the superbowl
dont know about the NCAA though :hmmm:
Finished off his rain delayed Semi Final v Troicki 6-3 7-6 before a pretty commanding 6-3 6-4 victory v Kevin Anderson in the Final.
Seems to be in good form with a week to go before Wimbledon, keep it going Andy! :hibees
Really looking forward to this. Although the course looks horrific on TV. Makes the greens at my course look like Augusta
So the opening day has come and gone (I didn't bother starting this during Spring Training and the WBC as I've otherwise been busy) the past 2 days and the Summer sport is underway (if only the weather would now join it - looked positively freezing, particularly in Minnesota last night!). Houston...
Sad to see him playing so poorly. I don't think much of him as a person, but as a golfer he was one of the best!
Question - do you ever see him regaining his status as the one to beat? I really don't think so. His swing now has too many 'issues' and his chipping is very poor. Worse than Hunter...
The second Grand Slam of the year begins tomorrow and all of the usual faces are in Paris.
Roger Federer is in action against Alejandro Falla on day one and his fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka is also playing, so too is Kei Nishikori.
As far as Andy Murray's concerned, he is due to meet either...
Nice one Frankie! Golden Horn could turn out to be some horse. Got to feel a wee bit sorry for William Buick though.
Good entertainment so far, England have gone from 30-4 to 186-4 with Stokes and Root batting very well.
Just watched his fight from last night, the guy is a machine, they really need to put him in with one of the big boys now
Getting interviewed on ITV4.
Mentioned our impressive training facilities but doesn't see himself getting involved financially with the club in the future.
Muzza for The French?
Fantastic performance from Glasgow tonight in the Pro V11 final. A convincing victory which was engineered by a proud Borderer in the shape of Gregor Townsend.
Keep it gaun next season Toonie!
I know not many people on here will have paid any attention to this game (wrong shaped ball for a start!).
But I started watching it, and ended up shouting on Glasgow.
If we can show that kind of spirit and control tomorrow then there still is hope.
Being a Hibee you get used to...
Every time I see the Gary Anderson thread above or below the NFL thread, I think it is about Gary Anderson the NFL kicker.
Therefore I am starting a thread to show our appreciation for the other great Anderson kicker, Morten Andersen.
I didn't know much about this guy until reading the build up to his fight last night which he was very impressive in.
The suggestion is that neither Cotto or Froch would be particularly keen to fight him and so he may face Andre Ward next.
Any boxing fans on here seen more of him than me?
Andy is playing a blinder against Nadal in the final of the Madrid Masters. A set and two games up.
2 year ban for testing positve.
Kind of got the boxing bug at the moment, anybody got any classic fights that they really liked? I quite like Miguel cotto, just watched his fight against margarito and clottey on you tube
I know snooker has had it's tough times in recent years but Shaun Murphy and Stuart Bingham are serving up a very decent final.
9-8 Murphy after the first day, set up for an exciting finish tomorrow.
So the fight is tomorrow. What does everyone think? My thoughts are Pacquiao will possibly win by knockout late in the fight.
Not long up to watch it after a few hours kip Hope all the Hype has been worth it :take that:take that
I listened to an interview this afternoon on the radio that moved me to tears. Tom English interviewed Ken on Radio Scotland and it was one of the best bits of radio I've heard in many a year. IMO Buchanan is arguably the best pound for pound boxer we've ever produced and the lack of recognition he...
Outdoor season nearly upon us, today I ordered new bowls as I'm moving down a size from 5's to 4's, Thomas Taylor Blaze Camouflage colour are my choice, a break from the normal for me as only ever played with black bowls. Hope I can play with them!:greengrin
Who is everyone putting their cash on this year?
I've gone with;
Bubba Watson £5 to win 11/1
Jimmy Walker £5 to win 22/1
Smaller e/w bets on Patrick Reed at 35/1 and Paul Casey at 66/1.
Anyone got any bets on yet?
What's your tips?
I've only had a quick look but these are the ones I'm eyeing up so far:
Chance Du Roy
Silviniaco Conti back to his best, jumped like a stag. Great ride by Fehily too, carbon copy of his King George ride.
Well done to Andy Murray on his 500th career victory yesterday against Kevin Anderson, which took him into the quarter finals of the Miami Masters.
He is the first British player in history to reach the milestone and surpassed Tim Henman's previous record of 496 wins last week in Indian Wells.
Watch it after 35 seconds, it comes to life a wee bit. :greengrin
Just watched Adam Etches on the undercard, looks like he took that fight a little too early, a wily 40 year old Belarusan caught him with a great right hand, fight over. Etches had won all previous 18 fights but this by far the best opponent he has fought.
Just got up to watch some of the England game. Aus starting to throw the bat at it and currently at 139-3.
NZ look to be winning the first game.
