Not seen a thread for this as yet so lets get it started.
Whats everyone hopes and plans for the coming year??
I am hoping to get down to a cat 1 golfer only 0.4 from it just now and to try and get out and play a bit more
I will be playing the turnhouse 7 day open again its a great week...
whos looking forward to the season on both accounts then?? What are peoples tips on Play-off contenders and overall winners? Is?
I feel i dont know the teams very well but i will be biased go for The Packers making the superbowl
dont know about the NCAA though :hmmm:
Outdoor season nearly upon us, today I ordered new bowls as I'm moving down a size from 5's to 4's, Thomas Taylor Blaze Camouflage colour are my choice, a break from the normal for me as only ever played with black bowls. Hope I can play with them!:greengrin
Sad to see him playing so poorly. I don't think much of him as a person, but as a golfer he was one of the best!
Question - do you ever see him regaining his status as the one to beat? I really don't think so. His swing now has too many 'issues' and his chipping is very poor. Worse than Hunter...
Who is everyone putting their cash on this year?
I've gone with;
Bubba Watson £5 to win 11/1
Jimmy Walker £5 to win 22/1
Smaller e/w bets on Patrick Reed at 35/1 and Paul Casey at 66/1.
I'm going to see them for the first time on Friday, has anyone been before? What should I expect in terms of crowds etc? Do you pay at the turnstiles like football or do they have a ticket office?
Used to love watching this guy playing for the Racers. Stunned he's still been playing at that age!
Anyone got any bets on yet?
What's your tips?
I've only had a quick look but these are the ones I'm eyeing up so far:
Chance Du Roy
Silviniaco Conti back to his best, jumped like a stag. Great ride by Fehily too, carbon copy of his King George ride.
Well done to Andy Murray on his 500th career victory yesterday against Kevin Anderson, which took him into the quarter finals of the Miami Masters.
He is the first British player in history to reach the milestone and surpassed Tim Henman's previous record of 496 wins last week in Indian Wells.
Watch it after 35 seconds, it comes to life a wee bit. :greengrin
Just watched Adam Etches on the undercard, looks like he took that fight a little too early, a wily 40 year old Belarusan caught him with a great right hand, fight over. Etches had won all previous 18 fights but this by far the best opponent he has fought.
Just got up to watch some of the England game. Aus starting to throw the bat at it and currently at 139-3.
NZ look to be winning the first game.
well done gary anderson rumoured to be one of us winning the world darts title.:flag::top marks
So the opening day has come and gone (I didn't bother starting this during Spring Training and the WBC as I've otherwise been busy) the past 2 days and the Summer sport is underway (if only the weather would now join it - looked positively freezing, particularly in Minnesota last night!). Houston...
Now that all the places have been taken up I Thought it would be better to start a new thread with this.
The Draft: The draft will be an offline draft made on this thread and i will input the players into the appropriate teams once the draft is complete. I think the draft will be the most...
Anyone else going? What's winning this year?
A bit sick of seein horses that 'can't get beat' plastered all over social media.. Some folk have short memories, I.e. Annie power last year!
Biggest bet for me again is Jezki for the Champion Hurdle. Has it all to do again but there's no doubting...
About 5 years late but who cares? I can't wait.
I fancy this treble today-
Un de sceaux- 2.05 Cheltenham
Douvan- 1.30 Cheltenham
Annie Power- 4.00 Cheltenham
I have been a very keen fly fisherman for many years and was wondering if any like minded hubs fans would like to meet up every once in a while for a bit of fly fishing for trout during the trout season? This can be river or loch fishing as I try to do both.
If there are and you fancy it then PM...
I didn't know much about this guy until reading the build up to his fight last night which he was very impressive in.
The suggestion is that neither Cotto or Froch would be particularly keen to fight him and so he may face Andre Ward next.
Any boxing fans on here seen more of him than me?
Great Britain are back in Davis Cup action this weekend and will be looking to beat the USA for the second year in a row.
For the first time in four years, Britain are playing a home match in Scotland and this time they are playing at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
The singles matches...
Embarassing effort from Anderson over the last 5 legs v King. Beat 9-8 after leading 8-4, missed 13 darts at a double in the last 5 legs.
Lewis out after being pumped by Barney earlier.
Anyone watching the game on sky? Saints v the Dragons.
The latest video ref decision was a shocker.
Wow...... Just wow
Anyone ever been to a local MMA event?
I went to one on Saturday at Portobello town hall organised by headhunters, some great fights and really talented fighters.
There's a great atmosphere everyone is there for a good time, it's like going to the darts but instead of Phil Taylor you get to...
I always find myself surprised by how quickly this comes around after the New Year!
Wales vs England gets us underway this evening from Cardiff before we take on France in Paris tomorrow evening, after Italy host Ireland.
We looked OK in the Autumn tests but I fancy Ireland to win it this...
Looked impressive last night despite being a bit disappointed in the fight overall as I was expecting a war. :greengrin
Hopefully the Scott Quig fight will happen soon though it will be interesting to see where they manage to get it on.
May I be the first to say this year, I ****ing hate this game!! Until the weekend medal anyways. :)
Europe choice seems to be between Darren Clarke and Jiminez. Think it will be Clarke.
USA choice sounds as if it could be between Couples, Azinger or Love III. Sounds as if it is going to be Love.
Retiring at the end of the season.
Love him or loathe him he's won them all and got some unlikely horses into winning positions.
Rory McIlroy. The best player on the planet by a considerable distance. Could quite easily do the grand slam of all four majors this year.
From 2017 Sky will broadcast live Open golf. BBC will get two hours of highlights in the evening. I suggest this is a bit of a disaster not just for the Beeb but for golf itself.
It's like losing the test cricket all those years ago.
The 2015 tennis season begins on Monday from Melbourne.
12 months ago Stan Wawrinka beat Rafael Nadal to win his first ever Grand Slam tournament in the men's event and in the women's event, the now retired, Li Na beat Dominika Cibulkova.
I would be surprised if we see any of those players...
Anyone "football" fans here staying up to watch the Superbowl tonight? Will be a good game very much Seahawks D against the Pats offence.
If the Seahawks can shut down Brady in the same way the shut down Manning last year then they will win.
I couldn't believe my eyes to see Alec Marshall giving it the big 5-1 gesture when picking up his trophy at the bowling competition. I never had the sound up, so tell me please that I've misinterpreted his stupidity. :-(
A few Hibees watching Murray today , anybody know them ?
Brendan McCullum 195 for the Kiwis, and Steve Smith 192 for the Aussies.
And Faf Du Plessis and Dean Elgar for SA. (Mind you, I always thought that guy Elgar was a bit of an Enigma ...)
And I think we'll see something special from Sri Lanka in the second innings.
About 18 hours of...
Anderson having one of his messy matches here, just get it finished man!
Great to see a Hibs fan winning a world title in any sport but to beat someone with a record like Taylor was fantastic.
