Taking away the obvious exceptions of our cup wins, where does yesterday's game rank in terms of favourite games? For me it has surpassed the 3-0 SC game at Ibrox and the 2-2 back from the dead game at Tynecastle.
The whole day was absolutely superb.

Where Does Yesterday Rank?

It’s right up there with my favourite days at Hampden that weren’t winning finals. Thought the atmosphere was actually pretty amazing last night but I guess a first half hat trick does that for you.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. One of those days where you just want to do it all over again

Easily makes my top 10 Hibs games, might even make a case for top 5.
An absolutely amazing day and I'm still buzzing now.
I love those games where getting a result makes you feel like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders, yesterday was one of those.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

As it’s been alluded to elsewhere we do seem to thrive when the numbers are not in our favour, particularly on several occasions now against Rangers at both Ibrox and Hampden.
Don’t know if the game makes my top 10 but certainly makes my Hampden top 5.

So we should do well in the Final.

My top 3 have been:-
1. 3-2 cup 2016
2. 6-2 derby 2000
3. 5-1 cup 2007
I think yesterday might compete with my 3rd choice for sheer goal celebrations and GIRUY. But it was a semi final so in context is probably 4th or 5th (1991 must be up there)Last edited by Col2; 22-11-2021 at 04:44 PM.

League Cup Finals 1991, 2004, 2007 and 2016 saw Hibs making up the majority of the crowd.
The last Cup Final Hibs fans were in a minority is probably the 1993 League Cup Final Vs Rangers at Celtic Park. Hibs got one end and maybe half the Main Stand and Rangers got the remainder including the whole Jungle Maybe 30,000 to 20,000.

At hampdump I did enjoy the 5-3 Dryborough cup final, once more 3 up against a team of lesser greens, they did have a top, top team then with Stein as manager, even with the smellies crowd stopping the game, to let them get back into it, we still went on to bang in 5.
Great days, and some of the recent ones have been no bad as well eh!

I've seen some magic Hibs wins over the last 20 years but there's something a bit sweeter when you win against the odds and being outnumbered 3:1 by the other fans.

I'd say that's the second best Hibs game I've ever seen, but then I have only been going since 2002 odd

In cup games vs Der Hun, second only to 2016. The comback in 2013 from 0-3 (which was in my head the whole second half) just edges it. Somehow feels better coming from behind than defending brilliantly.

That is going to be a game many of our younger fans who were there will never forget ... a brilliant performance from the team ... and the fans.

There are so many times we’ve put the past that lot in recent years to pick from, and that’s not even the top time at Hampden that we’ve done it.
Do you think your security can keep you in purity, you will not shake us off above or below. Scottish friction, Scottish fiction
