    Clyde v Hibs

Does anyone know if Clyde issued programmes against Hibs for the following fixtures
    21/12/46
    6/9/47 LC
    3/1/48
    28/8/48 LC
    16/10/48
    11/4/51
I also have 3/5/58 down as a non issue ?

I have a very rudimentary chart that was in a programme collector’s handbook from the late 70’s that showed what years post war that Scottish teams issued programmes.

It shows that Clyde didn’t issue programmes in 46/47 or 47/48, but issued programmes ‘on a regular basis’ from 48/49 onwards. So, I guess you can score the first 3 off your list.

Of course it doesn’t mean that a programme was issued for absolutely every game from 48/49 on, I believe back then that some teams didn’t issue for midweek games, for example. Hope this helps a bit.

Unfortunately that is not correct re 46/7 and 47/8 as Clyde did issue. I have programmes from both seasons, just not v Hibs !!

Thanks for confirming, it was in a Scottish Programme Collector’s Handbook from 1978/79 that I have from when I was a keen collector in my very young days. Never bought a programme for probably 30 years though I didn’t get rid of anything, and getting a bit back into it lately.

it was a pretty basic handbook, a bit like later fanzines. You would think the information would have been more accurate as at that point they were only 30 years removed from the post war (doesn’t it sound strange saying that), but clearly not very accurate.

Yes there were a few guides trying to establish early post war Scottish issues. Over the years more info became available. Lots of clubs didn’t issue because of paper rationing I think. Costs a small fortune for 46/7 programmes from clubs that produced
