I can’t understand some of the criticism he gets on here. He is what is he is and the things that he does best is up there with the best this league has to offer.

    Some finish today.

He's often criticised on here for bad passing too but, although he's no Scott Allan, he rarely misplaces passes.

    Beauty. My MotM today.
Same here. Called that before his goal.

  5. #34
Thought he was MOTM today. Didn't give the Killie players a minute's peace. Must have been a nightmare to play against today.
There is definitely a place for Alex Gogic in this squad and he's proved it in the last two games stepping in and stepping up when we've had injuries.
    Class guy.

Blistering strike apart, Gogic was very good today. Got all over the park and when Kilmarnock broke forward he was there trying to make the tackle or close them down. Breaks up play, then makes the simple pass to the guy that’s nearest to him.

Was unlucky with his headed effort and the strike for goal has you wondering why he doesn’t make more attempts. Just what we needed today on a poor surface in tricky conditions against a dogged Kilmarnock side.

Gogic was excellent today; I've been less than sure of him & thought he would melt that shot into the top deck; if he
can do that on a regular basis I'll be very chuffed for him and Hibs.
In the meantime I shall celebrate with a small Ancient Marnier.

Gogic was a Tower of Strength today on a difficult pitch that resembled a bit of Wasteland
First & Last & Always name on the team sheet. That goal today was from The Garden of Delight and if the fans had been in the ground we would have been Spinning Round

Mallan has spent a lot of that time with a serious injury and recovering from it. Really poor post.

That's not how I meant it at all, was actually highlighting how well Gogic is doing to keep up with our best goalscoring midfielder, despite not actually being thought of as a forward thinking player.

I'd probably still expect Mallan to be doing way better than that though. Given the difference in apps is only around 14 games and when ones a DM and the other is our goal scoring attacking midfielder.

Thought Gogic played well today and showed good energy. I think Irvine's physicality took the pressure off him a bit, as he's been asked to do most of the dirty work on his own this season.

Bela Lugosi’s Dead which is probably a good thing because if he’d been standing on the goal line the ball would have taken his head off on the way into the net.

Strike was as dirty as a Scott Allan pass

He only has a pass completion rate of 65%, only Doig and Doidge are lower. For all the good he does for the team in a defensive side, and today’s goal obviously, his passing is below par. He’s definitely an asset for us in that role though.

That surprises me but I stand corrected. Certainly today I can only think of one pass that he fluffed.

Think he said in his interview that it was the first goal he’s scored with his feet.

Unlucky with his header too, clinical strike and if Rodgers had managed a hand or finger to that shot he would be sitting in A&E

Been very critical of him so I must give credit where credit is due. Excellent goal.
Overall play was excellent, more horrendous pitches please as he relished every minute of it and was a gladiator in it , looked back to the player we signed in his first few games

He almost did end up in A&E with whoever it was following the ball into the net having a swipe at the ball.

Was Porteous I think. Clipped keepers fingers as he swung at the ball. Ouch! 😃
    This is how it feels

I actually thought the keeper was going to make more of it, fair play to him for just getting on with it.

What was the celebration about? Have him and his partner just had a baby?

Keepers fault for trying to punch Porto's foot.
