That can't be right. The two finalists would have split the gate receipts (plus a share to the SFA) which would have been hundreds of thousands each.
The gate receipts are split 4 ways from the 2 semis and the final.

    United we stand here....

Interesting. I never knew that and quite surprised by it.

I would rather, if the likes of Murphy and Wright are fit, to have them available off the bench.

I think Hearts will try and start very quickly and go all guns blazing to get a lead to hold. Even though they have now got 4/5 games under their belts, our lads should have the fitness edge over them. So if we can keep the game tight, frustrate and tire them, we can then bring on Murphy etc. to run at tired legs.
    I agree re the fitness.

I really don’t see this Hearts team being capable of trying to overpower us or press with any real intensity. Their midfield will be 2 from Irving, Halliday, Lee or Haring. With Walker and Boyce ahead of that, they’re really not blessed with legs or pace.

Their 2 new wingers might cause problems as they are an unknown quantity but I’d be confident in our full backs doing their jobs.

I’ve seen it all before so certainly not over confident but if Hibs “turn up” and don’t give them any gifts, we should win.

They've played a lot of friendlies. Heard an interview with Neilson about a week ago and he said they'd played 13 matches (might even have been 15). Appreciate friendlies don't get the match sharpness up as well competitive games but I reckon it would have helped make a difference v Dundee who weren't at the races. I'm not so sure we'll have much of an advantage, if any at all, in that regard. Think we'll edge it by 1 goal.
Watched their game on Friday. It was slow and ponderous with the occasional hoof. There's no doubt they caught Dundee cold but we will definitely have an edge over them. Remember reading that players don't feel like they're in to their stride until they've played 10-15 competitive games in the season. We'll find out Saturday I guess.

Make no mistake this is a tough tough game. Probably 50/50. We beat them when we were a championship club so that goes for nothing. Be up for the battle and play to our abilities then we have a right good chance.

I know the feeling, been counting down the days all week. Didn’t help when I woke up on Tuesday morning and for some reason in my head I was sure it was Friday morning, brutal!

They played them all, all for the sake of Saturday's game. That's what Chewbaka said.

It's pleasing Fartz will make no money from this tie. They could do with it more than we could.

I was like that on Monday but I've convinced myself that getting worked up about it won't change anything. We're due to turn up against these ***** at Hampden. It's down to the players.

Those figures were prize money only. There won't be any gate receipts this year and not sure if the TV money is shared or goes to SFA. Winning the cup would be huge financially as we would sell lots of cheap to make merchandise

Heavy rain and string winds forecast fir Glasgow on Saturday at 5 30 winds could still be 42 miles per hour as forecast stands
Hopefully it changes as that makes it very difficult to play football and pitch will be heavy and slippy

Saturday night should be a glorious night of celebration and drinking (in the house).

if the worst happens, you know what, we’ll get over it. It could still be a great season.

Not got high hopes for this one. This is 100% their biggest game of the season (perhaps even including the final if they get there) and they will be fired up for it no doubt. That and that it just feels like every time we play hearts whilst we are on good form they beat us.

    How many subs are allowed?

  27. #296
Jack not giving much away in his pre game press conference. Two out with two returning. I'd take that as Stevenson and Mallan (I think) out with Murphy and Wright returning

Someone earlier in the thread said 5, it’s 3 for this season’s Scottish cup though

I have a feeling Stevenson was one, hope he’s being cute and the other one he means is Scott Allan.
