It should also be remembered that the main idea isn't to feed folk that are short of cash , but to avoid waste, although if it helps people in need then all the better.
Call me cynical, but it's also adding to the profits of the participating stores.

    That's a very good one!

I've got an M&S groceries bag tonight and a Dobbies bag tomorrow - usually see what I get there and draw up a meal plan, getting the few loose things I need from Tesco to bulk it out if needed. Usually get 2-3 days worth of breakfast, lunch and dinner out of it plus a few quid to make it work.

Lunch for me and my daughters sorted for tomorrow.

The Dobbies near me never seems to have a bag available - always sold out but never on sale!

Disappointing Dobbies bag - Ginsters pasty, fresh linguine, limes, lettuce, pancetta, bread, sweet potatoes, two Muller corner yoghurts.

£3.99 but not fantastic. Along with last nights bag from M&S going to make an omelette with some side salad and potato wedges, a recipe I've found on an Italian website for pasta with pancetta, lime and hazelnuts and then a three bean chilli with sweet potatoes.

I gave it a go last night, at my local Co-op.

A fair amount of various stuff. Bread, ready meals, sausages, eggs, cooked chicken, vegetables. I'll probably take about a week to get through it all, as some can be frozen. The sprouts can **** off though.

Full price £22. Probably reduced to about £12. I paid £3.59.

Of course it is, hospitality needs every bit of help it can get during these times in order to keep people in jobs where possible.

Plus incentivising reducing waste by making a few quid at the end of the day from what would go in the bin can only be a good thing. It's one of those "everybody wins" scenarios.

Cutpricebarrys.co.uk could be handy for a bargain or 2, stumbled across it while reading up on magic bags.

Emailed last night with feedback about my bag last night not being up to much and having tallied it up on the Sainsbury’s app, not the £12 value as advertised.

Woke up this morning - full refund. Excellent service.

TBF that's about standard for Costa - they're so expensive the £8 standard value is taken up really quickly.

    1 Tuna Crunch Baguette
    1 ham and egg oval
    2 cheese and bean melts
    2 double chocolate muffins.

    Well worth the £2.59 again.

My Greggs one was a bit disappointing today:
    2 x tuna crunch subs
1 x chicken salad roll (which was dead tasty, tbf)
    1 x steak bake
    2 x sugar string donuts.

Can't argue with the price, to be fair but they set the bar too high with the bag the last time

Got a Morrison’s Easter bag. The store didn’t realise they’d put up bags so had nothing for me, so gave me £8 worth of cookies, doughnuts and hot cross buns!
