I don't know why folk are keen to have a go at ex players. You've added a Dempster quote, taken out of context, to a claim nobody has made. Certainly nobody is advocating going for Shaw at all let alone over Griffiths.

    Poor effort from you both.

It’s all conjecture. Nobody really knows if Griffiths actually will be released by Celtic, whether Aberdeen really are not interested but might be holding back so Hibs get complacent and then they can jump into the bidding, with an offer Griffiths couldn’t refuse. We don’t even know if Hibs are actually interested. There’s a lot of life in this one still.
Nobody knows - but I hope that option 1 is to try and keep Nisbet - that's got to be the least risk for Hibs.

I’m inclined to agree. If the sale of Nisbet was the means to taking the gamble with Griffiths, I would settle for trying to keep Nisbet. It wouldn’t go down well with a lot of folk but, sentiment and nostalgia aside, I think RG will follow his head and not his heart,

In an ideal world we'd keep Nisbet Jim, but if we were offered Leigh, and got him fit, I'd be more inclined to get a player (in Leigh) who bangs goals in from everywhere in this league, and spend some on a young striker like Connor Shields (from a Nisbet sale) who can progress and develop alongside LG and Doidge. Still have high hopes for Gullan too when he returns. We need four good strikers at the club, something we have not had for a good while.

There were folk advocating getting Shaw back. Some of those people thought he was better than Doidge.

Shaw is a good player Andy, but not a patch on Doidge. The thing with Oli was game time and confidence. Don't think the Ross County move was in his best interests to be honest - good potential and a good player (Shaw).

    Bring him home.

Can we not try and get Oli Shaw back instead? He was the greatest player in the world when he scored a tap in against us at Easter Road.

If you think Shaw is a good player he must be better than Doidge.

Doidge is a good player. I'm glad we have him.

Were these “folk” claiming he’s the greatest player in the world?

Should have read the forum after Ross County beat us at ER. We made a mistake letting him go was the common theme

That's my point - a few folk thinking we should have kept him, and/or claiming he's better than Doidge and stating so on a thread about the game he's playing in isn't a big deal, and maybe the poster above wasn't far off when he said those digs were over the top.

There's a far bigger number of people on here that reckon Doidge is better than Shankland. I think that's equally daft but doesn't make me want to slate Doidge on a totally unrelated thread.

I really like the sound of Doidge and Griffiths up top together. They’d compliment each other well.
