Very sorry to hear of Lawrie's passing. One of my favourites in my early days supporting the Club. Tremendous keeper on his day, who moved around quite a bit after leaving Easter Road.
Condolences to Lawrie's family and friends.

    RIP

Remember Lawrie well, part of a great Hibs defence which included John Grant, Jo McClelland, Jackie Plenderleith, John Patterson and a veteran Bobby Combe.

Lawrie was a great keeper & a wonderful character. I remember when he was at Airdrie & their centre half floored Joe Baker. Lawrie rushed out of goal & thumped his own player before tending to Joe! To put it into perspective Joe had just scored our 6th & his 4th goal past Lawrie. A sad loss.
I reffed a game in The Kent league about 30 years ago & Lawrie's son was playing. I ended up back at their house leafing through his scrap album collection.

I was at primary school when Lawrie was our keeper at the end of his time at The Holy Ground.
Lawrie and Jackie Wren being the first two keepers i likely saw playing for Hibernian.
But no real memory of that period.

Good memories from you there, Brian, and love the Airdrie story.

    Rest in Peace, Lawrie Leslie.

    R.I.P. Lawrie.

My boyhood hero and one of the greatest goalkeepers I've ever seen.

Just using this forum to see if there's any info re Lawrie's funeral? It would be nice if we were represented in some way.
