Thread: Marshall

    Marshall

Thought he deserves a thread of his own for today.

These was the games he was brought in for and kept us in it at 0-1 with the double save.

Looks assured and has good distribution.

both keepers played very well today, nice to feel we have an experienced, secure, International standard keeper. I was a big fan of Rocky, but Marshall has the distribution skills that he lacked, as well as the shot stopping.

Distribution is the big one for me

Soon as he has the ball he's looking to recycle it as fast as possible.

    Saves erre outstanding too

Real difference makers are hard to come by, Marsh is one of them. Boyle is the other. Both played a big part in that point.

Brilliant , possibly our best keeper since the goalie

A keeper that can change the course of the game. If it went 0-2 it was game over. Now Hearts fans know how it feels. Outstanding signing.

Distribution and command of his area outstanding

    Brilliant double save

I thought the Hearts goalie looked good and had forgot Plooky still played for them

Good to see two international class goalkeepers on display in an Edinburgh Derby

Pleased for Martin Boyle well worth any fee we had to pay just to get a point off of the time wasting barstewards

Almost literally our most creative player. Great performance, shame we didn't get him a decade ago 😅

Best keeper we’ve had in some time.

  13. #12
A position that badly needed improving and we have done it in style.

What a difference having a keeper confident in possession and who can make the ball go broadly where he wants it to makes.

We have lost nothing in terms of shot stopping ability and gained something in every other area.

Basically this. Probably the most important, or certainly under appreciated position in the team. It all starts from the back and I'm delighted we've got that sorted. Hopefully Marshall is a Benjamin Button character like Gordon so we have him for a good couple of years yet

Weirdest moment today was second half this old boy who sits in the West Upper and is like the ghost of C'mon Ma Bonnie Boys, shouting abuse at Marshall for time wasting. Totally bewildered by it, everyone around was looking perplexed. Then he yells, "you think cos you got away with it at Hampden you can do it today you lanky piece of piss!"

At that point we all realise he needed his eyes tested 😂😂😂

Feels great to have a quality keeper pulling off big saves in a derby. Gordon always outstanding for them, well done big Marsh

Good point. I'm not sure this Hibs team is much better than the one that finished last season but we have guys like these two who make a difference.

How many times have we played them and seen Gordon pull off a wonder save and they end up with a late winner/equaliser? Good to have someone in goal that can make these game changing interventions.

    Pass back rule killed him.

OTT praise for an average performance. Failed to stop The goal which slipped under him, should have done better with handling that shot in the second half which he should have held , instead allowed it to bouce off him, fortunately defender was there to clear. Distribution was awful. how many times did he just kick it down the middle, easy for them to defend, mostly going straight down into Gordons arms.

I'm assuming the Coach in your user name is something to do with buses as it's obviously bugger all to do with football.

We are very fortunate to have Marshall, he's a commanding presence and as long as we're not expecting him to play a high line or any sweeper keeper stuff, which clearly isn't his game, he's going to be a great piece of business.

Clearly Craig Gordon is garbage too since he let Boyles shot through his legs?

Did you miss Marshalls saves at the beginning of the 2nd half, without which we would have sank without trace.
