Anyone know the earliest issued Handbook? Was there much pre-;1950 and anything post-58 other than those one offs in 1983 and 1990?

If I remember correctly, the previous thread listing all the known Hibs books, also has an entry with the full listing(s) of all known handbooks, including the unofficial ones.

Iggy,
I’m aware of the following:
47/8 a brochure was produced to commemorate wining the league. It has pen pics & looks like a handbook although it’s not called a handbook. It’s slightly smaller than the programme issues of that season. Seeing as I have this I’m calling it a collectible handbook :)
48/9 a tiny wee handbook was produced. It has rules of the game, fixtures, a team pic etc inside. It’s a really nice item.
49/50 im guessing there is one although I haven’t seen it so that’s a guess
50/51 up to 59/60 separate handbooks were produced.
From 60/61 onwards ‘handbook editions’ were published as part of the regular programme & they contained the full results from the previous season. This went on to 68/9 to my knowledge although I’d stand corrected.
Note that there’s 2 different editions of 50/1 season and that there’s a 51/2 yearbook for Hearts & Hibs.
I’ll try upload pics..

Does anyone know how much these handbooks(1950-1960) are sold for and which is the rarest or most common ones ?

55/6 recently sold for £10.50, 57/8 for £11
53/4, 54/5,56/7 and 58/9 are difficult
50/1, 51/2 and 52/3 do turn up
All depends if more than one person is looking for them and good condition bumps the price up
50/1 and 52/3 together recently sold for £53, which surprised me.

It never used to be. All it takes is a couple of new collectors and eBay prices can go a bit daft !!!
