    John McGinn - Whinger

    https://www.footballinsider247.com/a...box=1655714197

    3 points on this:

    1. Gerrard is a muppet
    2. Stories like this suggest all is not well at Villa
    3. Probably time for JMcG to leave.... Let's start the offers at say £50m?

Going by the comments on it, Villa fans think it is nonsense too. Still if it lead to him leaving and Hibs benefiting from it then let it roll

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Not so long ago Gerrard was saying how much he loved John McGinn as a person and player. So yeah, think we can assume that article is nonsense.

Proof (if it were needed) that English football writers are as crap as the Scottish football writers are.

I would say SJM comes across as the exact opposite of that.

If Gerrard is trying to say mcginn is a whinger someone should remind him he’s best played through the middle.

I'd give this story about as much credibility as I would if it was the Daily Ranger trying to stir things up about one of our players. Journalists need to get attention, agents want to generate commission, etc. That said, I'll be delighted if he is sold with a chunk of cash coming to us.

    Sounds like rubbish to me.
Mind you sometimes a whinger is useful in a dressing room.
But from stuff I’ve heard he’s very popular around the club and is a power for good.
Be good if he uses that power to seal a £50m switch to Utd or Spurs. Thankyou kindly SJM

    Credit where credit due

He knew he was leaving us but still gave 100% crashing into full bloodied tackles and even scoring away against Asteris Tripolis and the same against Motherwell at the risk of any possible injury to himself

    A true professional

This is rubbish. A few trusted Villa journos have regularly spoke about Gerrard loving Mcginns attitude in training and his cheery attitude in the dressing room.

Well the other possibility is that Villa’s hierarchy have leaked this to the media to try and attract offers for him.

Also doubt it given how the club is run now, but with his dwindling impact and new signings targeted in his role wouldn't say it's impossible.

Kalvin Phillips going to Man City for £42m. I thought he would have gone for a lot more. That won’t help the value of SJM.

I don’t even think he’s good enough for Man City. If he wasn’t English he’d no get anywhere near the hype/praise he gets down there.

They definitely need someone in that role to replace Fernandinho, but I’m a wee bit surprised they didn’t go get Rice, who’s on another level to Phillips.

love both SJM AND Kalvin Phillips but SJM was the one that shone out of the two in the recent England v Scotland international

leeds fans not very happy man city get a player costing not much more than what they paid for Fernandinho 9 years ago, £42m + £3m add-ons

and then manage to flog leeds some U23's dude for £5m at the same time, di**wad Orta obviously didn't learn anything from the £25m fee man u robbed leeds for little diver Dan James, Orta should have been shown the door at the same time as Bielsa

I don’t think this is as true as some would think, Gerrard would be happy to see SJM move on believe me

Newcastle, or West Ham would be a decent move for him. Can actually see him playing for Newcastle.

Rice has recently said he wants to stay at least one more year at WHU before moving. He wants to be the club captain properly.

Reckon he then fancies a move to Chelsea.

EDIT: Apparently Chelsea have had a bid rejected so maybe not!

Didn't realise all his family are Chelsea fans and he was in the Chelsea academy when younger. Seems the obvious move for him

I don't believe this as Gerrard was the worlds worst on the park, then as a manager, always greetin' his face off.

I don’t think this article Carry’s any weight. JM is a model pro IMO

Although saying that, Newcastle would def be a good team for JM. Also. Could see him working great under Eddie Howe there. The bidding would prob start at 60 million with all the money they have too.

Newcastle seem to have a good strategy transfer wise. Some good moves this summer. They are never paying 60 million for mcginn. Infact, no one is. Already seen quite a few better players move this summer and last for significantly cheaper.
